Justo pilló el cambio al euro, pero + o - los tazos los vendía entre 0,50 y 1,5 € los normales. Los de primera generación se vendían a bastante más 5, 10 o 15€ en base a su estado y si estaban aún en el sobre. El más caro era Ash, el entrenador de Pikachu. Los tazos eran más rentables porque el 90% de la gente los tiraba. Yo iba por los kioskos recogiendo.

Alex Philips, a “presenter on Talk and That’s What She Said” from London, England wrote what I perceive a perfect case study in British class society self-inflicted drama:
I miss normal bread. Fluffy, bland, unobtrusive, absorbent, thinly sliced bread, that soaks up butter and efficiently sandwiches a filling without messing up the flavour.It’s being made extinct by bloody holey sourdough, which is a grey, chewy, vacuous, fusty tasting, horrible woke alternative that doesn’t soak up butter, can’t be sliced thinly, doesn’t toast properly, tangs like it’s gone damp and foetid, makes a godawful sandwich and is like noshing on a poncy porous plimsoll.
The cognitive mistake of Ms Philips is that her rant only works within a very narrowly defined framework of British class system, where everything - cars, clothes, language, hobbies and yes, food - serves primary as a class signalling system, and only then, possibly some actual purpose.
Of course, bread is part of it. That “fluffy, bland” cotton thing that shocked me when I first arrived to UK is of course still available everywhere, in the first place in every corner grocery or supermarket.
But here’s the thing - people aspiring to higher class allegiance don’t buy at “corner grocery” - they buy at posh shops like Waitrose, which set trends. As an average high class applicant you’re slave of these trends - and indeed a few years ago shops like Waitrose started promoting “artisan” breads.
Which in reality are pretty much the same fluffy, bland cotton thing, sliced and packed in a plastic bag, just with some brown colouring and seeds added and priced at 6-8 GBP “because health has no price”.
Pretty much in the same way posh shops have recently “discovered”… kefir, a simple fermented milk that had been sold everywhere in Eastern Europe probably for the last 1000 years (and in Polish shops in UK for the last 20). Kefir is, of course, also sold as “artisan” product with added layer of marketing bullshit centered on “longevity secrets from Caucasus” etc.
So while I may be having a bit of fun of the first-world problems of having to choose from a million of “artisan” food brands the one that is currently “the poshest of posh” among your “posher than you” friends, I have no doubt Ms Philips is really facing a dilemma and frustration.
She can’t just go to a regular corner grocery and buy the “fluffy, bland” thing that she dreams of, just like proles do, because she’s not one. She can’t go to a Polish shop and buy a regular non-artisan bready bread, like immigrants do, because she’s not one. Therefore, Philips can only buy what her today’s Instagram & posh friends tell her is acceptable, and then complain about “woke” and all the “limits on freedom”, ignoring the fact these are entirely self-inflicted.

I've been trying to think through what's most valuable from the different approaches and then I thought it's so much harder to try out such ideas cause we lack the ability to fully play out ideas without the VC money.
I think mastodon wtc is great in that it's fully featured unlike a PDS, but it locks you into a content type moreso. a moveable blob and smart clients would be best but hard for newbies. ugh.
Church of St. Cosmas and Damian, Anusin, Poland
It is a wooden Orthodox church built between 1902 and 1904 on the site of an older church dating back to the late 18th century. It serves as the parish church for the Telatycze parish and is a typical example of log architecture from the southern Podlasie region. The church has a three-part structure with a three-story tower above the vestibule, an octagonal drum, and a characteristic onion-shaped dome covering the roof.
The interior of the church features an eclectic iconostasis from the early 20th century, containing icons of Baroque character. An unusual element of the decoration is the Stations of the Cross hanging on the side walls, which are rarely found in Orthodox churches. Around the church grounds, there is a stone slab with a mysterious, partially faded inscription combining Cyrillic and Greek alphabet characters, as well as a baptismal font located near a nearby stream.
