Launched in 2004, the Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory โ formerly the Swift Gamma-Ray Burst Explorer โ has been dutifully studying gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) during its two-year mission, before moving on to a more general space observation role during its ongoing mission. Unfortunately, the observatory is in LEO, at an altitude of around 370 km. The natural orbital decay combined with increased solar activity now threatens to end Swiftโs mission, unless NASA can find someone who can boost its orbit.
Using Swift as a testbed for commercial orbit-boosting technologies, NASA is working with a number of companies to investigate options. One of these is the SSPICY demonstration of in-orbit inspection technology by Starfish Space thatโs part of an existing Phase III program.
Although currently no option has been selected and Swift is still at risk of re-entering Earthโs atmosphere within the near future, there seems to be at least a glimmer of hope that this process can be reverted, and a perfectly fine triple-telescope space observatory can keep doing science for many years to come. Along the way it may also provide a blueprint for how to do the same with other LEO assets that are at risk of meeting a fiery demise.

In April 1938, he and his family refused to take part in the planned examinations by the Racial Hygiene Research Center in Schondorf. However, when another registration took place in July of the same year, nine members of his family were categorized. In March 1943, Anton Guttenberger, his wife and six children were deported to the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp and murdered there. According to he testimony in that page her family name is "Burtzteyn". Apparently Yad Vashem did not care to read properly and eroded history (see facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=11โฆ) by changing it into Burtshteyn (this carelessness about Holocaust victims appears to be typical for the social media hasbara spam and online databases of the "Auschwitz Council" and "Yad Vashem โ The World Holocaust Remembrance Center".
Also interesting is where the greyscale photo originated from, as no picture is attached to the testimony.

Technically, we're supposed to keep a personal Facebook account, and my way around that nonsense was to remove my personal, and then create what amounts to a dummy account as my "new" personally account. All I do with that account is I reshare Meta's own AI slop, so they're not getting anything from me. It's a completely one-sided, benefits me, type of relationship.

at least they are manufactured locally! It's better to buy this kind of thing than to buy things produced overseas. A tone of practical things can be produced like this. Funnels, scoops, corners, containers etc. It's also printed based on the exact local demand so there's no overproduction. Big factories always do overproduction. The shops with 3d printed stuff don't make new things unless the ones they have sell out. The supply matches the demand perfectly.
Is the UK about to rejoin the EU's Erasmus student travel scheme?
Well the Govt. seems to be inviting tenders to run the scheme for 18months from next July... so it looks like (at least) some sort of pilot re-entry into the scheme is being planned.... even if the Govt. says its not going to 'pre-empt' negotiations with the EU
Potentially a little glimmer if post-Brexit good news?
Why are the government inviting tenders to operate this scheme? Why must a third party, operating with the intent of making a profit, be brought in to extract money from the national economy for a project that will ultimately benefit Britain?
Why can't civil servants do this for โ60-80% of the cost of a private company?
When will Downing Street wake up and realise our pockets are being picked; or are they in on the scam?
