"While the destruction of buildings and infrastructure in Gaza is visible in every video we see, less visible is the parallel destruction of ecosystems and means of subsistence. Before the 7 October atrocity that triggered the current assault on Gaza, about 40% of its land was farmed. Despite its extreme population density, Gaza was mostly self-sufficient in vegetables and poultry, and met much of the population’s demand for olives, fruit and milk. But last month the UN reported that just 1.5% of its agricultural land now remains both accessible and undamaged. That’s roughly 200 hectares – the only remaining area directly available to feed more than 2 million people.

Part of the reason is the systematic destruction of farmland by the Israeli military. Ground troops have demolished greenhouses; bulldozers have toppled orchards, ploughed out crops and crushed the soil; and planes have sprayed herbicides over the fields.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) justify these attacks by claiming that “Hamas often operates from within orchards, fields, and agricultural land.” And apparently from hospitals, schools, universities, industrial estates and any other resources on which the Palestinians depend. All the IDF needs to do in order to rationalise destruction is to suggest that Hamas has operated or might operate from the thing it wants to destroy. And if there’s no evidence – sorry, too late.

The IDF is steadily expanding the “buffer zone” along Gaza’s eastern border, which happens to contain much of the Strip’s agricultural land. As the human rights specialist Hamza Hamouchene points out, rather than “making the desert bloom” – a mainstay of Israeli state propaganda – it is turning fertile and productive land into desert."

I've made a little progress with my Snake game, slow partly because I've been ill this week, but got the 2-player mode working, added some customisability to the game and a smattering of power ups / downs. Still a fair amount of bug-fixing to do before I consider a release.

Any recommendations for an Android app to read (only) and search through ten mid-size to large #orgdown files I currently sync via Syncthing?

#Orgzly revived does kill captured data (in my setup situation) and #Orgro can't even open my larger files.

Edit: logseq Android is not good with large files + search results. Unfortunately, this doesn't work either.

Uhm, collapse/expand ... probably only Orgzly, Orgro and Emacs can do that.
What about connecting a physical keyboard to the Android?
in reply to Marco Bresciani

@AAMfP I rather have a notebook than a physical keyboard at my side.

Android and physical keyboard only will make sense when Android Desktop will be more common.

Oggi relax. Ho deciso che me lo merito e che voglio ripartire riposata dopo giorni molto complicati.

"Key points from Morgan Stanley’s call:
- AI revenue is still lagging: Monetization is expected to be much slower, as ARR isn’t accelerating.
- Competitive heat rising: Canva, Figma, and Big Tech rivals like Google and Meta are closing in.
- Price reset: Target cut nearly 15%, signaling diminished upside.
Moreover, Adobe stock fell 2.35% to $353.27 on Sept. 24, then edged slightly lower in after-hours trading, reflecting Wall Street’s unease.

Adobe touts AI promise, but ARR tells another story
Adobe continues touting its AI momentum, but it hasn’t been showing up where investors want it most in Digital Media ARR.

In Q2 FY2025, Adobe exited with $18.09 billion in Digital Media ARR, jumping 12.1% year-over-year. In Q3, its ARR skyrocketed to $18.59 billion, but growth slowed down to 11.7% year-over-year, which is hardly the AI-driven “inflection” the Street has been seeking."

in reply to ciccillo

Love you forever, sister Rachel

They raped people including minors. They shot palestinians in a cage. Source : Tentura documentary
in reply to Farhad

Yes we should boycott Israel to stop what they're doing now to civilians. That doesn't mean Israel has no right to exist or that Jews should be persecuted now. There were a lot of bad thangs that happened on many sides related to, and after wwii. Just like there were a lot of bad things that happened in the Americas to establish what are recognized countries now. And the same pretty much anywhere if you go back in history long enough. When you conflate the issues of Israel's existence with Israel's current policies in Gaza, you weaken your call to stop the human rights abuses in Gaza right now. Stay focused!
in reply to CannonFodder

Their existence is predicated on human rights abuses, including apartheid. What a load of horseshit. Zionism is a colonial ideology and no decent human being would support it
in reply to ExistingConsumingSpace

Ok, stick with that and lose support. It's very sad when the people of Gaza need our support against the extremists running Israel right now, but people like you keep screwing them over by going just as extreme the other way.
in reply to CannonFodder

It isn't "extreme" to be against colonialism and human rights abuses. Providing cover for your fellow zionists is what let brought this about.
in reply to ExistingConsumingSpace

On a practical level, Israel isn't going anywhere, so calling for its destruction isn't going to accomplish anything except make you look like a fanatic and be ignored by sane people.
But that's very different from calling out their human rights abuses. That we should do loud and clear. The key is to be 'clear'. Stop burying that message under fanatic anti Jewish sounding rhetoric.
Colonialism is another matter, which I'm not sure really applies at all, but if it does then it's too late to undo the existence of Israel just as it's too late to undo the existence of the U.S., or any other historical colonies. Sure we can and should push against further colonialism in the world, as well as wars of conquest, genocides and other terrible things. But calling for the destruction of Israel makes you the bad-guy which we should push against. We need to push for practical change which comes from education, and communications without blind hate and retribution.
in reply to CannonFodder

Israel does not equal Judaism/Jewish people. I'd argue that claim is antisemitic because that would mean that murder, rape, racism, apartheid, colonialism, theft, etc are somehow traits inherent to Jewish people.
in reply to ExistingConsumingSpace

Nonetheless when you call for an end to Israel, you are calling for the genocide or displacement of millions of Jewish people, so you come across as antisemitic. You may think Israel doesn't have a right to exist, but it's been around for many decades and for generations - it's not going anywhere. And calling for it's destruction only mutes your voice as you come across as a violent extremist and only enforce Israel's arguments for why they need to continue their war on Gaza. It would be much more productive to call for human rights to be respected, for a ceasefire, for return of hostages/prisoners, etc.
in reply to CannonFodder

Israelis are not victims, they are mostly European colonists who have been raping and pillaging since 1947. I don't give a rats ass if you, a zionist, think that's antisemitism. You've played that card out and are the reason for actual danger to Jewish people worldwide because it is now a meaningless word.
in reply to ExistingConsumingSpace

But what do you see as a path forward? If you want the destruction of Israel, the genocide of Jews, then they will be victims; they are rightly fearful of giving up any power. If you want a two state solution with a peaceful border, then say so and stop sounding like an extremist - it only weakens your voice.
in reply to CannonFodder

I never said genocide of jews, you keep saying that. There shouldn't be a two state solution, Europeans should learn to stay home instead of wreaking havoc in others homes. The best path forward would look similar to Germany after ww2. This includes prosecution of military, civic, and civilian offenders. Any "dual" citizens sent back to their countries of origin because they are literally just colonizers and have no actual ties to the land. Then a government not predicated on race established with equal rights for everyone, restoration of stolen property, and reperations made. If some bad shit happens to some folks who participated in/supported the terrorist ethnostate, I'll have zero sympathy. You reap what you sow.
in reply to ExistingConsumingSpace

It sounds like you want to kick a bunch of Jewish people out of the area. That's apparently genocide.
in reply to CannonFodder

Returning foreigners to their country of origin is called deportation. Nice try, though.
in reply to CannonFodder

Defending the existence of Israel means you are calling for the genocide or displacement of millions of Palestinians.
in reply to CannonFodder

which I’m not sure really applies at all

Why aren't you sure? Zionist leaders made it very clear:

[It is the] iron law of every colonizing movement, a law which knows of no exceptions, a law which existed in all times and under all circumstances. If you wish to colonize a land in which people are already living, you must provide a garrison on your behalf. Or else – or else, give up your colonization, for without an armed force which will render physically impossible any attempts to destroy or prevent this colonization, colonization is impossible, not “difficult”, not “dangerous” but IMPOSSIBLE! … Zionism is a colonizing adventure and therefore it stands or falls by the question of armed force. It is important to build, it is important to speak Hebrew, but, unfortunately, it is even more important to be able to shoot – or else I am through with playing at colonialization.

As quoted by Lenni Brenner, in The Iron Wall: Zionist Revisionism from Jabotinsky to Shamir (1984), where the quotation is cited as being from "The Iron Law"

[Emphasis mine]

It's 2025 nobody is using that dumb fuck argument anymore.

The entity shouldn't exist the same way rape babies should be aborted.

in reply to Piperpiper1

And that is the attitude that gets you dismissed as a violent extremist, or worse reenforces Israel's rational for why they need to keep fighting in Gaza.
in reply to CannonFodder

Oh I'm so sorry that I'm the reason the genocide is happening! It only started when I pointed out that settlements shouldn't exist!!

Actual fucking dumbass

in reply to Piperpiper1

There are quite a lot of you fools that play right into the hands of the extremist right wing Israelis. It's an accumulative effect.
in reply to CannonFodder

Israel has no right to exist though. Technically, no state does. Its existence is a matter of might not right. The Palestinians though have a right to exist on their land including that which they were forcefully removed from in 1947-1948, 1967 and 2023-2025.
