5% BIP sind 215 Milliarden Euro. Das bräuchte entweder massive Steuererhöhungen oder 162 Milliarden Euro aus anderen Ressorts. Das entspricht den gesamten Budgets von allen (!) außer Arbeit&Soziales, Verkehr und Schuldentilgung.

Quest’anno io e la mia compagna Saì siamo andati in vacanza, per una settimana, sull’isola di Capraia. Un po’ incautamente ci siamo buttati nell’avventura senza prepararci adeguatamente, quindi qui scriverò, a beneficio dei miei due lettori rimasti, i pochi consigli basilari utili per visitare l’isola. Ovviamente il vero consiglio è informarsi bene negli appositi siti, magari chiedendo a qualcuno che ci è stato più di una volta.

L’isola è lunga 8 km e larga 4 km, con un perimetro di 30 km ed è piena di sentieri che raggiungono tutti i posti interessanti. La parte sud è completamente disabitata e non raggiunta dal segnale telefonico dei cellulari. Se non siete attrezzati e abituati a lunghe escursioni non avventuratevi nella parte sud. Per raggiungere il mare, se non avete una barca, si deve camminare. Per raggiungere il mare, il posto (cala del Bagno) più vicino è a 15 minuti da piazza Milano , il centro cittadino. Tutti gli altri posti sono a distanze maggiori, anche a ore di cammino.

L’isola è di origine vulcanica e quindi ci sono solo sassi, scogli, muri di roccia e macchia mediterranea. Gli alberi sono pochissimi, quindi tutti i sentieri sono sotto il sole.

Il collegamento con la terraferma è via traghetto, in media una volta al giorno, salvo condizioni avverse del mare. Da Livorno sono 2,5 ore di traversata. Per le emergenze mediche c’è un poliambulatorio attrezzato e l’eliporto. I residenti sono poco meno di 400, ma chi ci ha fatto da guida per il giro dell’isola ci ha detto che a Natale 2024 erano in 86, segno che qualcuno, nonostante la residenza, passa parte dell’anno sul continente.

Arrivando tutto dalla terra ferma, i prezzi sono mediamente alti, alcune cose tipiche locali hanno prezzi da gioielleria (il formaggio di capra del posto viaggia fra i 45 e 55 €/kg, per dire).

Cosa non vi serve sull’isola:

È inutile l’auto. La rete stradale c’è, le auto sull’isola ci sono, ma come turisti molto probabilmente non ci farete molto. Nel caso assicuratevi di avere un parcheggio, perché quelli che ho visto erano solo per residenti. E fate benzina prima di imbarcarvi sul traghetto, sul posto costa circa 0,60€/l in più.

È inutile l’ombrellone e il materassino. La sabbia è in quantità omeopatica e comunque poco accessibile e gli scogli rendono di fatto impossibile l’uso del materassino gonfiabile. Per l’ombra portatevi un cappello o un ombrello portatile. Per chi è amante di sdraia e ombrellone ci sono due “spiagge” attrezzate, dove spiaggia si intende un pavimento fatto di assi di legno sopra gli scogli. Ovviamente a pagamento.

Cosa è molto utile sull’isola:

Attrezzatura da escursione: scarponi, zaino, bastone, borraccia, cappello, pantaloni e calzini. La stessa attrezzatura che usate in montagna. L’isola si percorre tutta a piedi, ma i sentieri sono a volte molto impegnativi.

Attrezzatura per vedere sott’acqua (snorkeling): maschera, boccaglio, eventuali pinne o scarpe a prova di riccio di mare. Ci hanno detto che la zona è ideale per immersioni con la dovuta attrezzatura.

Un termometro, un antipiretico/antidolorifico, eventuali farmaci che dovete prendere abitualmente. Portatene per qualche giorno in più rispetto al previsto. L’ideale sarebbe portarvi anche un antibiotico, ma forse esagero.

Il mare è stupendo, il paesaggio suggestivo, la settimana scorsa i turisti ancora pochissimi.

I soldi meglio spesi sono stati quelli per il giro dell’isola in gommone. A dire il vero il giro sarebbe da fare una volta al mattino e una volta alla sera, per apprezzare le varie sfumature di colori della roccia e della vegetazione con diverse angolature di luce. (Noi l’abbiamo fatto al mattino.) State attenti alle meduse: possono causare ustioni importanti.

I locali sono cordiali e affabili; la camera affittata era pulita, fresca e silenziosa.

Non so se vi avrò fatto venire voglia di andare a Capraia – dicono che il nome derivi da “karpa”, che sta per “roccia” e non da “capra” – ma almeno una volta nella vita una visita la merita.
