ICYMI: Updates from the 7/5 Meeting

Arizona – The Arizona Pirate Party planned a protest of the plan by the Indian Health Services to shut down the only health clinic in Tucson. The protest kicked off today, hence the speaking in past tense regarding the event.
The AZPP t-shirt contest winner will also soon be available on the AZPP merch store.
Illinois – Illinois has announced their first candidate following the 2026 election season. Yours truly, “Jolly” Mitch Davilo, will be running for the Midlothian, IL Village Board of Trustees. More announcements will come in the coming weeks, but this is essentially a done deal. The election will take place April 2027, with the official campaign not expected to kick off for a few more weeks.
Platform – The Platform committee shall introduce updates to the Pirate Party’s “Police Reform” plank. The board will review and vote on adoption next meeting.
So concludes the updates from the last meeting. 7/5 was an open meeting and failed to meet membership quorum. In hindsight, should have perhaps been postponed. Lesson learned. You can check out (most) of last night’s meeting (I say most because there were audio issues) here.
