This is a late announcement, but one those in the know would already know:
During our July 26th meeting, the Pirate National Committee voted to endorse independent candidate Jacob Anders’s campaign for Tennessee’s 4th Congressional District.
Anders, a historian, author, digital ethics researcher, and community advocate from Tullahoma, TN, is a candidate for Tennessee’s 4th Congressional District, running on a “Humanity First” campaign.
His priorities include universal healthcare, a $1,000 monthly Universal Basic Income, strong climate action, protecting workers and families, ending endless wars, codifying abortion rights, and digital/data rights reforms.
He also wishes to uncap the house!
Jacob joined us for two episodes of Talk the Plank! (with a third TBA later) and two meetings, the 7/26 meeting (which was the meeting of endorsement, though many complained it was a rushed meeting) and 8/2 (which was largely spent making up for the question asking portion previously missed).
Jacob joins Michael Veloff, who received his endorsement a week prior, as our endorsed candidates for the 2026 United States Congressional cycle. This brings our total number of endorsements for the 2026 election cycle to seven.
We wish Jacob all the luck in this race! And for interested Tennessee Pirates: Jacob Anders inquired about getting a Tennessee Pirate Party active and represented during Pirate National Committee meetings. If you’re interested in getting involved, the wheels have begun to turn on the road towards the TNPP!
