Location of the 2027 Pirate National Conference Decided

Sept. 16th

During the Sept. 13th Pirate National Committee meeting, a vote was held to finally decide where the 2027 Pirate National Conference would take place.

The choices were between:

  • Baltimore, Maryland
  • Mobile, Alabama
  • Tucson, Arizona

Tucson would ultimately withdraw their consideration, with the AZPP declaring their intentions to host the 2028 Pirate National Conference, due to it being a Presidential year. Thus, the vote came down to Baltimore and Mobile.

In what can honestly be called a tough battle and a true toss up, the pros and cons both locations were weighed and considered, with the final tally being far from a conclusive decision.

With a 4-3 decision, the Pirate National Committee voted to hold the 2027 Pirate National Conference from Mobile, Alabama.

Thank you to state Captains Blase Henry and Joel Lightfoot for putting forward your states as potential host locations. All of us in the USPP firmly believe these locations will ultimately play host for the Pirate National Committee in the near future.

For what it’s worth, there was initially a motion to have these locations play host for the remain 2020s conferences, but the board was uncomfortable with committing the future conferences during that particular meeting. The departing feeling after the meeting appears to be that, even without that vote, we may perhaps know from where the remaining 2028 and 2029 conference will be held.

Baltimore and Tucson, your days will come.

But until then, Mobile, victory is arrrs!

More details on the conference and agenda will be released in the coming months. The conference is currently penciled in for June 5th, 2027.
