🇩🇪YES! SPD-Justizministerin Hubig blockiert zurzeit deutsche Zustimmung zur grundrechtswidrigen #Chatkontrolle! 🛡️

The fight must go on, no country should support this.

Em reshared this.

@queenbee4ever
It was never about the children, they are using the emotional appeal of the imperious need to protect the children to push forward their authoritarian agenda. It is pure manipulation.

This seems like a good time for people in #Germany, #Luxembourg and #Slovakia to contact their representatives and let them know that opposition is the right choice!

(And I do wish I wasn't in a country that's in favour.)

stop using facebook, google, microsoft. Use xmpp servers at iceland, newzealand, serbia and other place of non-western world.

Great! If I sum up the percetage-of-EU-total-population for the 9 countries that are opposing/neutral (pop percents from wikipedia Demographics_of_the_European_Union), that becomes 40.37% of EU pop.

Does that mean that the second condition for Qualified majority, 65% of the total EU population, cannot be reached, even if undecided countries turn in favour?

in reply to Patrick Breyer

It's an irony that post-communist countries like Czech Republic, Slovakia or Poland are now opposing this Orwellian nightmare while traditional democracies like France, Sweden or Spain support it ...
in reply to Patrick Breyer

Thank you, Germany, and all the others opposing this. The Portuguese government's and most of our politicians stance on this matter has been a shame.

Maps like these came up a while ago, too, and I didn't think to write -- even with my mild red/green blindness it looks like everything is one color except for the undecided 😭 Different reds/greens would help a lot 🙏
in reply to Christian Tietze

@ctietze A python script creates the map. It currently reads:
"In Favour": "#e31a1c", # Bright red
"Not in Favour": "#33a02c", # Green
"Undecided": "#1f78b4", # Blue
"Other": "#d3d3d3" # Light grey

Any other suggestions?

that’s great, but what I don’t understand is that one rogue country (Hungary) constantly torpedoes decisions that threatens all of EU’s safety and a decision that undermines everybodies privacy can be decided by a simple majority.

This map is incorrect....hang-on, Malta is missing completely, par for the course on many maps of the EU, Malta is always missing

Anyway; Malta's MEP's oppose chat control, so you can put a green blob just under Sicily 😀

EDIT: it seems the Times of Malta article is grossly misleading.

I was sent this earlier, it's pissed me off a bit, If papers don't actually report the actual facts on serious issues, what's the point in them?!
