I like how #mastodon improved it's default handling of non "Note" (unknown) Activities, with support of summary, name (title) and the hashtags.

I think we should re-use the WordPress Post-Formats (for the ActivityPub WordPress plugin) and abandon the shortcode settings in favour of a clean and simple default handling!

I am experimenting a bit here: https://github.com/Automattic/wordpress-activitypub/pull/661

Thanks @linos for the inspiration!

@Matthias Pfefferle unfortunately I noticed that when a Wordpress post is published as a Lemmy thread, the thread title becomes a hyperlink to the featured image, rather than to the post itself (the link to the post is still reported in the text of the thread's opening post) .
But this is probably Lemmy's interpretative limitation.

Here is an example: https://feddit.it/post/4851182

can I find the details on how is the support being improved? The instances I'm on still only do Title + link 8-/

(I'm also monitoring the GH issues https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/24079 https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/8892 and https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/19357 and I'm not seeing progress there …)

It is actually quite simple: Mastodon already uses the summary but renders it as plain text, even though it is supposed to be HTML. I guess that also might be a reason why almost nobody seemed to use it in the past.
