@Herne The original version does use a captive portal, but since I am able to connect to the wifi network, I opted for that instead. I also had a lot of problem getting the captive portal to work smoothly - since in that scenario there *isn't any internet*, the portal would continually pop up.
@Herne But basically, it is an ESP32 chip wired to an SD card reader. There is a custom firmware on the ESP32 that can either connect to wifi or serve its own wifi. That firmware serves up the web UI and allows people to upload, download or post to the forum.

E poi siamo sicuri che lo script elimini davvero tutto tutto e che comunque Windows non avrà problemi perché magari componenti importanti del sistema sono state eliminate ? L' unico modo per eliminare completamente la IA è installare una distribuzione che già di default non integra la IA, scegliete voi quella che preferite.

when i lived in pittsburgh it would take 45mins-2hrs to do a 2 mile commute each way. I never understood peoples willingness to just sit in gridlock wasting their life away. There also the red and blue lines but they are pretty worthless outside of the point and north shore. Personally i just walked it most days instead
You were driving in the opposite direction of the big flows, which are into #Brussels. I try to avoid driving in the city during rush hours but 1 hour for 10km is not a rarity. Maybe there are worse places.
I am reminded tho of the Dutch newspaper article where they interviewed drivers in the queue at Rokin, one of them was driving from near Rai to Rokin, and had taken over an hour. Dutch people can be car brained too unfortunately 🙁
I once had someone say LA traffic isn't usually too bad, because they were able to get from Long Beach to Burbank in 2 hours. I had to point out that means they had an average speed of 15 mph.
It's painful how my 1.5 km trip to the grocery store in New Brunswick has to be done by car because it's miserable otherwise. In NL I have the same distaince trek and I love biking to get there (and also to the tram stop). No one gets it back in NB.
Saw this earlier and it baffled me that this is just the default for so many people. I've walked like 2.5km just on my lunch break today without even thinking about it, i can't imagine not having that option
It is so obvious, there needs to be a metro or tram line between her (and other) suburb and downtown. But I guess it's really hard to implement and maintain with North-American low density suburbs.
Thankfully, a lot of people in the comments have suggested walking or biking as potential options. So at the very least, people are aware there could (or SHOULD) be other alternatives.
Whether those alternatives are tenable in OOP’s city, now, is a different matter entirely. Especially since “there’s a sidewalk” is NOT always synonymous with “it’s walkable,” much less “there are myriad alternative transport options.”
@moshimotsu the complaint about the apartment complexes is implying that the traffic will only get worse because the city is building more apartments.
The number one reason that housing projects are cancelled in the US is because of traffic concerns. Because if everyone always has to get around by car, then yeah, adding more housing will only make traffic worse.
It's crazy how few Americans understand that alternatives to driving need to exist.
I recently immigrated to the Netherlands from Indiana in the US. I brought my EV vehicle with me since it was cheaper than replacing it. Since I have gotten here I have traveled over 300km by bicycle, hundreds of KMs by train, and only about 100km by car. Not because it's expensive to travel by car, but because it's SO MUCH MORE CONVENIENT by train. No worries about traffic, no worries about fines for speeding, and no worries about finding parking.
So i checked: in my city i need only 20ish minutes by bike for a 5km commute, make that 22,5 accounting for locking and unlocking said bike in worst case, fingers frozen solid winter, so about ½. now, and i'm not surprised by this at all because i watch @notjustbikes videos, if i took my car it would take me just 15 minutes. ⅓! car hostile, urbanist planning *improves* car's travel speeds! (and oldenburg, germany really isn't even the best example of urbanism by a long stretch)

Adblockers are one of the few reasons I've stuck with Firefox as long as I have.
Some recent updates fixed, then broke, then removed the widget.gtk.non-native-titlebar-buttons.enabled setting which enabled themed OS window buttons on Linux.
If they get rid of adblockers, I'm switching to Vivaldi.
the new @mozilla CEO obviously has zero understanding of their users or the original mozilla mission. forcing users to take ads, forcing AI (that no users have been clamouring for) shows a real gap.
