Ecco a sorpresa un'altra stronzata colossale di #YouTube (non nuova, in realtà, ma è credo la prima volta che mi capita come oggi) che ho dovuto subire stamattina, come se il solito mio carico non bastasse... 👹 Ho visto che NewPipe sul tablet mi dava errore ad estrarre i video, e allora boh... _sarà marcio lui_, ho pensato, _provo ad usare il browser_... e YouTube sul browser ben pensato di fare la stessa identica stronzata, però qui l'errore è chiaro ed insultante: "_ACCEDI PER CONFERMARE DI NON ESSERE UN ROBOT!!!_"... 🗡️🤬💣 GOOGLE, MA COME CAZZO SI FA??? Ma vi sembra una cosa normale pretendere di accedere per guardare qualsiasi video (non si tratta di video limitati ai minori o cose del genere), perché il vostro server di merda ha deciso che il mio indirizzo IP è marcio o qualcosa del genere? AOOOO, io la mattina mentre faccio colazione mi devo guardare YouTube, e voi vi dovete fare gli stracazzacci dei vostri!!! 🤮 Tra l'altro questo errore, è incredibile, ma è persistente... sia sul sito mobile che quello desktop di YouTube... addirittura negli iframe embeddati su altri siti, cosa che per me supera davvero l'assurdo, perché neanche le altre Big Tech fanno questo schifo! (E quindi no, usare Proxatore o Bing non è stato possibile.) 😵 Ancora più stranamente, però, di tutti i browser che ho sul tablet, su Firefox e solo su Firefox ha funzionato pur senza login... quindi lì ho potuto guardare un video alla fine... anche se è molto scomodo, perché il PiP è rotto lì, e la modalità split screen di Android è un troiaio, e io dovevo scrivere una nota nel mentre, e quindi è stato brutto, aaaa... 😭

La risposta esatta è “più di dieci ore”. Nel vuoto i corpi umani non esplodono né tantomeno congelano immediatamente, al contrario di quanto si vede in alcuni film di fantascienza.
Abbiamo la prova diretta che i corpi umani non esplodono quando vengono esposti al vuoto perché è quello che accadde nel 1971 all’equipaggio della Sojuz 11. Durante il distacco dalla stazione spaziale Saljut 1, si aprì per un errore nella procedura una valvola di scarico dell’aria e la navetta si svuotò completamente: i tre cosmonauti morirono per mancanza di ossigeno, ma i soccorritori che tentarono invano di rianimarli dopo l’atterraggio riferirono che “sembravano addormentati”.
D’altra parte, il congelamento richiederebbe molto più tempo di quanto si potrebbe pensare perché, anche se la temperatura di base dello spazio è poco sopra lo zero assoluto, la mancanza di aria fa sì che non si possa scambiare calore per convezione, ma soltanto per irraggiamento, cioè attraverso l’emissione di onde elettromagnetiche infrarosse, un processo fisico che alla temperatura del corpo umano è molto meno efficiente della convezione.

OK la cosa della mancanza di esplosione mi sorprende: sapevo che il congelamento avrebbe preso un sacco di tempo perché conosco i meccanismi fisici del raffreddamento, ma pensavo che ci sarebbe stata l'esplosione e quindi ho fotato per l'ultima opzione. A cosa è dovuta la mancanza di esplosione? Cioè, dove fallisce l'ipotesi alla base della miscredenza, che se non ricordo male era basata sulla questione della pressione interna vs pressione esterna?
@oblomov il fatto è che la cute umana è abbastanza robusta ed elastica per resistere alla differenza di pressione. Altro discorso sono per esempio i polmoni, che fanno una brutta fine.

No, per mancanza di spazio e di potenza del veicolo non avevano le tute spaziali, altrimenti sarebbero sopravvissuti. Per questo si può dire che l'esposizione al vuoto non fa danni clamorosi, almeno all'esterno. Altro discorso i polmoni.
@oblomov No, infatti, la realtà non è così splatter. Nel 1965 un astronauta americano fu esposto per errore al vuoto per 14 secondi durante un test e perse i sensi ma non riportò danni permanenti.

During WordCamp where I was a speaker, I couldn't say the popular synonym of "testicle" in Venetian dialect because it could be considered obscene. No matter if in that specific context it was not referred to human body but to a Venetian bridge's architectural structure which is invisible to eyes, people even don't know it exists, but it's fundamental for the bridge's stability. It's the anchor-stone. I wanted to refer to that, talking about RSS feeds and the role they have. Well, I couldn't say that word so I changed the topic in "human brain is invisible to eyes but it's fundamental". However the meaning is not the same, because everyone knows about brain's existence. But not anchor-stones existence, and not RSS. That popular non-technical word would have impressed people more, I think. Even for a smile. But that's a taboo. On the other side, we have Mullenweg who defined "a CANCER" one of his competitors. No matter if there are several people with cancer, around the world. First Italian WordPress translator died of cancer in 2022. But a leader can freely talk that way without direct consequences? We have politicians all over the world who build entire campaigns, and their popularity, on hate speech. Dozens of newspapers earning on rage bait articles. So? The problem is a vulgar word placed in a non-vulgar context? #language #speaking #NoHateSpeech #bigots #WordPress

Without a #CoC, a community and its leaders are explicitly accountable for how they handle conflicts on a per case basis. With a CoC, leaders can exploit weak minorities to push their own agenda through a mostly uniform and conformist community.
Iow, CoC are designed to force a US-workspace like behaviour on people contributing for free, so that they are easier to manage (and exploit) as #FreeLabor.
But when you point this out, those same leaders will mount a rage mob against you.
That's why say #FOSDEM becomes a testimonial of companies that support a #genocide, like #Google or #Microsoft, %ak*n_ their money and let their employees to talk. And also why I'll never attend to one.
@giacomo I am not against code of conduct in general, you can not rule a public event without some common points. But I'm opposing to words filters. If you are smart/creative enough (and many leaders and politicians are), you can discriminate someone even without a single swear word. Say "you can't be blind, you make no mistakes while writing, grammar or typos" you are telling me I'm a fake, masking it as a compliment. And you even can tell me I thought bad because you had no intention to harm any way. In the end, no one is protected from hatred.
I’ve never thought about it this way, but it’s almost certain that my nonchalant default position about “does LLM training violate a social contract about credit in open source” is related to the baseline fact that I’ve devoted my entire life to open source and appear in (to a rounding error) zero CREDITS or AUTHORS files. My contributions have been stripped, but it wasn’t by AI.

What’s totally conscious: that I’ve been explaining to lawyers, engineers, and students for 15 years that every device they own has an attribution file and to a rounding error no one, even the developers, ever reads them. Their original, noble, purpose has morphed into a box-checking exercise performed by multi-billion dollar corporations for their lawyers, not for developers. And that long predates Copilot.
To be clear, that’s super-problematic! But it’s not problematic because LLM; it’s problematic because the mechanism we invented in the 1970s and 80s to create human relationships didn’t survive the transition to modern, mega-complex, mostly-open systems. LLMs are at worst the moment where we had to collectively acknowledge that the emperor is clothed in unread READMEs.
If the purposes of a system is what it does, the AUTHORS/CREDITS are not a benefit for the people listed but rather a social function: an outsourced (poor) substitute for a functioning register of copyrights which would *limit* the universe of potential #copyright claims (and eventually be instrumental in a restoration of the "limited Times" in the Progress Clause).

根據司法院行事曆顯示，本週五(19日)大法官將召開「憲法法庭確認裁判文本評議」，並註明會後將召開一般評議。此一特別的會議，有別於過去11個月以來，大法官只召開「一般評議」。知情人士揣測，「憲法法庭即將大復活」，大法官有極高的可能性劍指憲法法庭緊箍咒，要設法掙脫立法院的枷鎖，針對《憲法訴訟法》做出違憲與否的判決。
