Thanks to a rogue county clerk, hundreds of LGBTQIA+ couples were able to get married, while the issue played out in the 10th circuit Court, and the Boulder county clerk herself faced lawsuits and attempts to remove her from office.

after a few months of back and forth the governor at the time, hickenlooper, finally decided that Colorado be a state of marriage equality. almost a year later, just a few weeks before first anniversary, marriage equality was passed nationwide.

while it's hard to find the spirit to celebrate with everything going on in the world right now, it is also more important than ever to be visibly, loudly, and proudly queer.
