I was getting wound up yesterday as I wanted to create a gitignore file and I couldn't be bothered to leave the terminal. So I created Snub (it's like ignoring, but with attitude) to scratch an itch.
The code is up on codeberg along with a first release. There's a few things I want to add to it still, but thought I'd share in case it's useful for anyone.

in the mid 80s this was my first encounter with music from arabic speaking countries. a friend of mine had the record; i copied it to cassette. unluckily this tape suffered the same fate as so many of my favourite cassettes back then: it was devoured by a vicious cassette player in my car.
so it took from the late 80s until the 2020s to find it again. i still haven't found the complete disk from back then, but of course i can't remember its name. but i recognized at least its eponymous title:
