@LordCaramac @StefanMuenz Dann probier mal einen LLM-basierten (Re)search Assistenten wie perplexity, der kommt mit IMHO mit allerlei möglichem Spam, auch LLM-basierten relativ gut zu Recht.
Aber ja, im Falle von perplexity braucht es leider etwas „Konfigurationsarbeit“ dem Ding seine US-zentriertheit und etwas zuverlässiger (alle Aussagen sind mit Referenzen zu unterlegen) zu machen. Deren Zielgruppe ist ganz klar Nordamerika.
@yacc143 @StefanMuenz Die schieren Komplexitätskosten unserer Technosphäre erschlagen gerade unsere Biosphäre. Jede zusätzliche Ebene an technologischer und organisatorischer Komplexität läßt den Ressourcenbedarf der modernen Maschinenzivilisation um eine weitere Stufe explodieren. Die Idee, die unangehemen Nebenwirkungen unsere Technologie mit weiterer Technologie zu bekämpfen, wird nicht mehr lange funktionieren.
Unser technologisches Niveau wird nicht mehr lange zu halten sein, weil die Zivilisation absolut keine radikale Nachhaltigkeitsstrategie hat. Die Idee, irgendwas so zu machen, daß man prinzipiell ewig damit so weitermachen könnte, ist den europäischen Kulturen der Neuzeit und denen, die von ihr beeinflußt worden sind, einfach komplett fremd, stattdessen soll immer alles "der Fortschritt" richten, aber wir sind inzwischen am Ende der Fahnenstange angekommen. Ökologen, Geowissenschaftler und Systemwissenschaftler haben das Ende unserer Zivilisation schon lange kommen gesehen, einige gründeten vor etwas über einem halben Jahrhundert den Club of Rome, der 1972 eine MIT-Computersimulation als Buch herausgaben: Limits to Growth, auf Deutsch auch Grenzen des Wachstums. Seitdem überschlagen sich alle möglichen Leute darin, dieses Buch und seine Erkenntnisse anzugreifen, ständig wird irgendwo herumgetönt, das Buch sei "längst widerlegt", aber die realen Daten aus der echten Welt zeigen eindeutig, daß wir uns immer noch auf genau der gleichen Schiene befinden wie im mittleren Szenario aus der damaligen Simulation, und neuere Simulationen mit verbesserten Modellen und neuesten Daten zeigen immer noch, daß wir in den Kollaps rasen.
Das Industriezeitalter wird enden, es verreckt am Wachstum. Der Kaputtalismus ist der bösartige Tumor, an dem die Zivilisation stirbt, am Wirtschaftskrebs. Wir müßten große Teile der Weltwirtschaft amputieren, um noch lange genug zu leben, damit die alte Zivilisation sich ohne langes dunkles Zeitalter in eine neue transformieren kann, aber das wird nicht passieren, allein schon, weil die Welt kein grenzenloses globales solidarisches Netzwerk ist, sondern ein Flickenteppich von konkurrierenden Nationalstaaten.
In 100 Jahren wird kaum jemand mehr in seinem Leben einen funktionierenden Computer zu Gesicht bekommen. Falls es in 1000 Jahren noch Menschen gibt, wird ihr technologisches Niveau nicht viel höher sein als im frühen Mittelalter. Wir haben es einfach verbockt, wir hätten 50 Jahre gehabt für eine grüne Weltrevolution gegen das Wirtschaftswachstum, gegen das Kapital und gegen die Technokraten, aber nein. Jetzt bräuchten wir eine solche dringender denn je, um zu retten, was noch zu retten ist.
@yacc143 @StefanMuenz Ich bin eigentlich schon mein ganzes Leben lang der Ansicht, daß unsere Zivilisation nur noch untergehen kann, ich hatte nur lange Zeit gehofft, den Anfang des Kollaps erst so mit über 70 erleben zu müssen, also ab ca. 2045, da ich Jahrgang 1975 bin.
Alle Zivilisationen gehen irgendwann unter, so wie jeder Organismus irgendwann stirbt, jede Spezies irgendwann ausstirbt und die Biosphäre der Erde irgendwann von der anschwellenden Sonne ausgelöscht wird. Alles stirbt irgendwann.
Wir hätten halt nur die Wahl gehabt, auf die Warnungen zu hören und die alte Zivilisation in einer Weltrevolution zu beenden, um sie durch eine neuartige nachhaltige zu ersetzen. Wollte halt keiner.

Die Amischen sind technologisch nicht auf einem präindustriellen Stand, weil sie Technologie an sich ablehnen, sondern weil sie mit der sündigen Welt der Ungläubigen nichts zu tun haben wollen und daher nur Technik verwenden, die sie direkt im Dorf mit ihren eigenen Handwerkern und verfügbaren Materialien selbst herstellen und warten können. So wird es auch nach dem Kollaps aussehen, aber der Kollaps zieht sich vermutlich noch mindestens 70-80 Jahre hin, vielleicht auch 200 oder gar 300. Es wird keinen großen Knall geben, nach dem nichts mehr geht, sondern viele einzelne kleinere und größere Katastrophen, und nach jeder davon wird es dauerhaft etwas schlechter sein als vorher. Kein plötzlicher Zusammenbruch, eher ein langsames Wegbröckeln. Lokal oder regional wird es vielleicht plötzliche Zusammenbrüche geben nach einer einzelnen Katastrophe oder nach Jahrzehnten des Niederganges, wenn die Kompensationsfähigkeit der örtlichen Systeme nicht mehr ausreicht, und dann gibt es wieder einen neuen Schwung Flüchtlinge.

Wenn man genau darauf achtet geht die Infrastruktur bereits langsam vor die Hunde.
zB sind die globalen Logistik Ketten seit 2020 bitte wieder 100% ins Lot gekommen.
Die Unwetter sorgen dafür dass die Versorgung mit Obst und Gemüse etwas bescheidener geworden ist. Das sie noch immer so gut ist, liegt daran dass wir hier in der EU immer eine massive Überproduktion hatten und weil wir im Vergleich und die höheren Preis leisten @StefanMuenz @sixtus
können. Die Tafeln stehen halt dumm da.
Allgemein gibt es bedeutend öfter Lieferengpässe. Supermärkte, Medikamente, aber auch Elektronik.
Noch ist es nicht so weit das es offen thematisiert werden muss, aber wenn genau hinschauen tut, sieht man es bereits.

Per me le navi che partono dai porti in giro:
- piene di provviste donate da persone comuni,
- piene di ragazze e ragazzi,
- aiutate dai portuali che minacciano chiunque abbia intenzione di far loro del male,
- accompagnate da cortei di migliaia di persone.
Provano a superare dei blocchi impossibili, già sanno che nella migliore delle ipotesi torneranno sconfitti. Eppure sono lì per "riscattare la vergogna e l'orrore nel mondo".
Be, per me, sono la cosa più bella che vedo da decenni.

Blog teaser - season #2 - 2025
Dal punto di vista della produttività, il 2025 può essere definito un anno "benedetto" per questo blog. Da gennaio alla fine di luglio sono riuscito a pubblicare con regolarità almeno un contenuto a settimana.La striscia si è interrotta nel mese di agosto, durante il quale mi sono preso una pausa dalla scrittura per godermi qualche settimana di ferie.
Nel salutare te e gli altri lettori mi ero chiesto se e quando sarei riuscito a riprendere le pubblicazioni ma, soprattutto, se sarei riuscito a tenere la stessa regolarità anche durante la seconda parte dell'anno.
Così, al rientro dalle ferie, ho iniziato a lavorare alla nuova stagione del blog che, al momento, conta già tre post scritti, caricati e programmati e almeno altri due sono in fase di progettazione.
Questo significa che nelle prossime settimane potrò contare su un buffer tale da farmi ben sperare di poter tornare a pubblicare con regolarità un post a settimana.
Come accaduto nel resto dell'anno, i post usciranno ogni domenica sera (a proposito, che ne pensi di questa modalità di uscita? È comoda o fa schifo, fammelo sapere nei commenti) e verranno condivisi sui social nei giorni successivi.

Come detto sopra, tre sono i post già pronti che usciranno nelle prossime settimane.Due hanno a che fare con il workshop di worldbuilding che ho tenuto a Scicli all'inizio di agosto: uno è un reportage molto personale dei tre giorni passati in Sicilia, l'altro la trascrizione della performative lecture che ho tenuto il giorno prima del workshop.
Quest'ultima riprende, chiarisce e approfondisce le note che avevo pubblicato qualche mese fa. Vista la risposta incoraggiante che sta avendo il format a cui ho lavorato nell'ultimo anno ho deciso di approfondire i temi legati al worldbuilding, quindi aspettati altri contenuti su questo tema.
Il terzo post in scaletta è il quinto episodio di La turbolenza, il diario di lavorazione di un libro sulla politica altoatesina che forse non uscirà mai. È dedicato a uno dei temi che più ha tenuto banco nelle cronache locali durante l'estate: l'overtourism.
Idee ancora da sviluppare
Tra queste ci sono almeno due recensioni: quella di Tecnopolitica, il saggio di Asma Mhalla dedicato alla militarizzazione delle tecnologie digitali e quella di Warfare, il film diretto da Ray Mendoza e Alex Garland.Inoltre è da qualche tempo che sto pensando a un saggio dedicato al rapporto tra immagini e realtà al tempo delle intelligenze artificiali generative.
Mi piacerebbe scriverlo, ma ho qualche remora perché per farlo potrei dover tirare in balle le immagini provenienti da Gaza e ho qualche remora a mettere un genocidio in mezzo a un pezzo di theory (anche in questo caso, se ti va di dirmi la tua nei commenti mi fa piacere).

if one wants to seriously care about their data, use ZFS or btrfs in RAID 1/5/Z and run a monthly scrub, they can repair damaged files using a spare disk
restoring from backups could work, just make sure your backups are working, test their integrity (the files integrity, not only the repo integrity) on a regular basis, don't prune stuff before you run a scrub or the bitrot script as you will need the backup to restore a corrupted file
but btrfs is still considered experimental outside mirrors... right in their docs:
