What is the stance of the #OSM community in regards to via ferrata?
I see a few being mapped, a lot of others missing and the official proposal is still just that, a proposal, since 2009.
I would like to contribute to fill some obvious gaps like the ones around Zugspitze, but I feel like this proposal might not capture everything.
My intuition is, since they are a lot less serious than alpine routes like the Jubilämusgrat, which is mapped as an alpine route, ferrata like the Höllental and Alpspitze should be represented in OSM as well.

Trump ordina la ripresa immediata dei test nucleari statunitensi
Il presidente Trump ha annunciato mercoledì 29 ottobre di aver ordinato al ministero della difesa di riprendere immediatamente i test sulle armi nucleari americane. L'annuncio è arrivato tramite un messaggio sul social network Truth Social, pubblicato poco prima dell'incontro con il presidente cinese Xi Jinping a Busan, in Corea del Sud.
"A causa dei programmi di test condotti da altri paesi, ho ordinato al ministero della guerra di iniziare a testare le nostre armi nucleari su base paritaria. Questo processo inizierà immediatamente", ha scritto Trump, usando il termine "ministero della guerra" per riferirsi al Pentagono, come fa abitualmente la sua amministrazione.
Gli Stati Uniti non conducevano test nucleari dal 1992. L'ultimo test fu effettuato in Nevada il 23 settembre di quell'anno, con il nome in codice "Divider". Subito dopo, il presidente George H.W. Bush impose una moratoria sui test nucleari sotterranei, in seguito alla caduta dell'Unione Sovietica. Da allora il paese ha mantenuto questa pausa volontaria per oltre tre decenni.
Nel suo messaggio, Trump ha dichiarato che "gli Stati Uniti possiedono più armi nucleari di qualsiasi altro paese", con la Russia al secondo posto e la Cina "molto distante al terzo, ma che recupererà il divario entro cinque anni". In realtà, secondo i dati della International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons, la Russia possiede attualmente il maggior numero di testate nucleari confermate, con oltre 5.500 armi, mentre gli Stati Uniti ne hanno 5.044.
L'annuncio di Trump arriva in risposta ai recenti test russi. Domenica scorsa, il presidente russo Vladimir Putin aveva annunciato il test riuscito del missile da crociera Bourevestnik, dotato di propulsione nucleare e capace di trasportare testate atomiche. Putin aveva descritto il missile come dotato di "portata illimitata" e in grado di eludere quasi tutti i sistemi di intercettazione. Trump aveva definito "inappropriato" quel test, invitando Putin a "mettere fine alla guerra in Ucraina".
Ma Putin non si è fermato. Mercoledì ha annunciato un ulteriore test del Poseidon, un drone sottomarino a propulsione nucleare che può trasportare cariche atomiche. "Nessun altro apparecchio al mondo è uguale a questo per velocità e profondità" di operazione, ha affermato il presidente russo, sostenendo che "non esiste alcun modo per intercettarlo".
Non è chiaro quando o se le forze armate americane effettueranno effettivamente un test, né cosa intenda esattamente Trump con l'espressione "su base paritaria". Il Pentagono non ha risposto immediatamente alle richieste di chiarimenti sull'annuncio.
Nessuna delle tre maggiori potenze nucleari - Russia, Stati Uniti e Cina - ha condotto un test nucleare completo dagli anni Novanta. La Russia ha effettuato il suo ultimo test nel 1990, mentre la Cina nel 1996. Dal 1998, solo la Corea del Nord ha condotto test nucleari esplosivi confermati. Tuttavia, le potenze nucleari hanno continuato a sviluppare e testare i sistemi di lancio delle testate, a condurre esplosioni nucleari simulate con supercomputer e esperimenti di fisica nucleare.
La Cina ha ampliato rapidamente il suo arsenale nucleare negli ultimi anni, una tendenza che il Pentagono prevede continuerà per il resto del decennio. Il paese ha costruito almeno tre complessi per il lancio di missili balistici e nel 2024 ha lanciato un missile balistico intercontinentale nell'Oceano Pacifico. Immagini satellitari del 2023 hanno mostrato che Stati Uniti, Russia e Cina hanno costruito nuove strutture e scavato nuovi tunnel nei loro siti di test nucleari.
L'incontro tra Trump e Xi Jinping dovrebbe concentrarsi principalmente su commercio e dazi, ma le preoccupazioni sulla sicurezza restano presenti nella relazione tra i due paesi. Le forze armate americane stanno discutendo il lancio di un missile questa settimana come "dimostrazione di forza" in risposta alle recenti aggressioni cinesi nel Mar Cinese Meridionale.
