Questo articolo non vuole dare nessuna risposta. Sicuramente porterà alcune semplificazioni, ovviamente cercando di evitare le banalizzazioni. L’unico obiettivo dell’articolo è quello di portare una riflessione su come nei secoli si è strutturata la percezione sociale che abbiamo della donna. In particolare, sul dispositivo di giudizio e di controllo sessuale.
Ecco l’idea e la domanda di fondo su cui oggi vogliamo riflettere:
Quanto ha influenzato, e tutt’ora influenza, per la libertà sessuale e sociale della donna il modello di donna, che è stato imposto tramite il cristianesimo, della santa VergineMaria?
Verginità
È impossibile non partire da un assunto, o forse sarebbe meglio dire dogma, fondamentale per il cristianesimo: la verginità della madre di Dio. Cosa meglio non potrebbe figurare il significato di fede se non il credere in una donna che è stata madre rimanendo comunque vergine? È tutto contraddittorio, una madre per assunto, logica e necessità biologica non può essere vergine. Eppure, Maria la madre di Dio lo è. Anzi, la sua verginità non solo è possibile perché è la madre di Dio, ma è anche la madre di Dio proprio perché è comunque rimasta vergine.
È assurdo pensare o credere che una madre possa essere vergine. Ma è proprio questo che, in quanto dogma, lo rende ancora più meritevole di fede.
Credo perché è assurdo
Creo quia absurdum.
Inutile dire che personaggi come Spinoza ripudiano con tutta l’anima giustificazioni simili. L’affermazione di Marx “la religione è l’oppio dei popoli” è vera in quanto si riferisce all’effetto narcoletticco che la religione compie sul raziocinio delle persone.
Non è fede, non è credere, non è educazione né etica o morale giustificare dei dogmi mascherati da verità divine, con l’idea di ci credo perché è assurdo.
Su questo presupposto ogni cosa è valida.
È semplicemente è una nemmeno velata domanda di cieca obbedienza. Il che non rispetta nessun principio di autonomia, di rispetto e di indipendenza degli individui.
Immacolata e pura
Qui, tornando al nostro discorso, ci chiediamo: quanto ha influito il modello della immacolata nella percezione che abbiamo della donna?
Perchè c’è stata e tutt’oggi c’è una certa aspettativa che la donna sia pura, ovvero un senso di sdegno nei confronti di quelle donne che si vivono la propria sessualità liberamente? Magari anche per il solo piacere del rapporto sessuale senza altri “fini” procreativi e in certi casi anche emotivi. O forse potrebbe essere più chiaro messa in altri termini:
perché, tendenzialmnete, se un uomo ha molti partner sessuali viene visto con un don Giovanni o un “grande“, mentre una donna viene etichettata come una “sgualdrina“? Giusto per usare un eufemismo.
Non cerchiamo risposte certe, ma cerchiamo solo di alzare delle domande per criticare degli stereotipi opprimenti che non hanno un vero fondamento se non l’ottusità e una tradizione dogmatica.
Se donna allora madre
Un altro aspetto che si presenta è quello del legame tra l’essere donna e il dover ricoprire il ruolo di madre. Maria è donna e madre. Madre tra l’altro non per scelta, ma per dovere ed elezione. Dunque, la procreazione come una mansione che spetta alla donna in quanto compito naturale da assolvere. Ovviamente, c’è la pretesa che ci sia la purezza del corpo fino alla procreazione, dunque una imposizione della vita sessuale che deve essere finalizzata alla sola procreazione.
Anche se questo non è per nulla vero. Alessandro Barbero, esperto medievista, in una conferenza ha parlato della sessualità nel Medioevo. In quella sede, ha smontato parecchi pregiudizi sull’epoca buia (che non lo era per nulla, sicuramente non più buia di oggi). Tra i tanti ha smontato l’idea che ci fosse una forte castità ed estremo pudore. Noi oggi siamo più repressi sessualmente. Nel caso cristiano, soprattutto nel matrimonio, vi erano dei vincoli tra marito e moglie di dover soddisfare i piaceri fisico sessuali del partner. Anzi, si poteva giungere al divorzio se uno dei due partner non adempiva ai suoi doveri in quanto compagno e partner sessuale oltre che emotivo sentimentale.
Questo per dire che la sessualità femminile è naturale come quella maschile. Ed è assurdo pensare che per l’uno, maschile, può essere anche ludica mentre per l’altra, femminile, deve essere solo strumentale alla procreazione che poi richiede necessariamente un dovere di accudimento. “Nemmeno nel Medioevo pensavano a queste cose”.
Essere e diventare madri è una scelta. Così come lo è essere padre. Scelta a cui seguono reciproche responsabilità. Così come una donna può vivere la propria vita e la propria sessualità senza dover procreare e senza doversi “concedere” (termine al quanto retrogrado e becero come se la donna sia passiva e solo concessiva) ad un solo partner per tutta la propria vita.
Controllo del corpo: copriti!
Probabilmente tutti quando pensano alla Madonna si figurano una donna coperta e velata. D’altra parte la Santa Vergine è sempre rappresentata coperta da veli. Solo volto e mani sono visibili. Non vi viene nulla in mente?
Raramente viene anche esposto il seno materno, anche se essenzialmente il significato diretto è quello dell’allattamento, quindi mai per una manifestazione di libertà sessuale o di libertà di mostrare il proprio corpo.
Questo non è poco. Lo donna (forse) più famosa ed influente della storia non mostra mai il proprio corpo. Non da dimostrazione di poter scegliere cosa mostrare, ma solo di poter mostrare il proprio volto. Giusto l’essenziale per il riconoscimento della persona. O per come è stato per molti decenni in Italia, sì gonna no pantaloni. La gonna va bene perché larga, i pantaloni invece sono veicolo di tentazione perché mostrano le forme del corpo.
Questo non significa che allora le persone di sesso femminile per rivendicare la propria libertà devono denudarsi o che ogni femmina coperta sia soggetta o schiava a modelli di dominio della religione o del patriarcato. Ognuno ha il diritto di potersi vestire come meglio crede, sempre con accortezza del contesto in cui si trova.
Il discorso semplicemente vuole mostrare alcune spiegazioni di giudizi e pregiudizi presenti nel nostro mondo quotidiano. Per esempio non appena si vede una scollatura o una coscia si finisce facilmente a dare della scostumata (per usare un eufemismo) o a dire che “se la sta cercando“. Ovviamente, l’obiettivo non è mostrare le spiegazioni e giustificare i pregiudizi. Bensì, mostrare le insignificanti e ignoranti motivazioni per andare a rompere e superare questi pregiudizi.
Lì, abbiamo visto che spesso creiamo dei legami immaginari di causalità creando dei fantasmi che giungono per determinare il nostro modo di vivere e di relazionarci col mondo e gli altri. Lo stesso vale per il fanstasma della donna pura. Ora, la riflessione che vogliamo portare oggi non è solo quella di quanto il modello, o fanstama, della Santa Vergine Maria ha influito sul giudizio e sulla libertà, non solo sessuale, della donna. Bensì, anche quanto e se i nostri attuali pregiudizi sulle donne sono frutto di verità immaginarie e fantastiche.
Per non dire quanto sia comodo e quanto sia, un modello di questo genere, uno strumento oppressivo di controllo e di potere nei confronti delle donne. Non solo degli uomini sulle donne, ma anche delle donne sulle donne stesse.
Forse è l’ora e il caso di scacciare anche questo fantasma opprimente della donna pura.
