On FireFox, at least, I kinda wish the Mastodon web client wasn't so eager to make every element clickable from two miles away.
It's difficult, to copy movie titles for example, unless it's the original post. And trying to copy an account name without triggering the user's profile dialog or straight up being sent to their profile is almost impossible and requires surgical precision.
Uh, maybe I just need to git gud but dang...

We made the trek to North Cascades National Park this weekend. This remote park in Washington was very fascinating to drive through. We stopped for some short excursions and learned about the complex geology and history.
So much of this natural beauty is defined by the three dams built in the mid-1900s to supply electricity to Washington. Technically, the dams are impressive engineering feats. The Gorge Dam has a small museum describing how the dams were constructed. Looking at them now, it’s amazing to think that people were able to build structures this large out in the wilderness. The Gorge Dam features tunnels over two miles long to increase the power to the turbines. Even today, the dams supply nearly 20% of Seattle’s power.
Those dams created the beautiful, narrow lakes of the park. The light blue color comes from the rock dust produced by glacial runoff. In the last days of August, there was still snowmelt coming down the steep cliff sides, producing impressive waterfalls.
But I was also struck by how much is at risk. Acres of evergreen trees were turning red, likely due to the stress of climate change-induced heat and drought. Large areas have burned in the last decade, with trees that are much less adapted to fire than those further south. The deciduous trees were covered in large webs of moth caterpillars that destroyed all the leaves on the branches. This is all among dams that have drastically changed the landscape and its ecology, but also provide a carbon-free source of energy. And through these dramatic mountains, we’ve cut roads, strung powerlines, and carved trails.
The reality is there’s no perfect system for using the land and preserving it. Thankfully, much of the park is still well preserved. In fact, the road that bisects the park is essentially the only portion that you can drive to. Much of the park system is only accessible via trails, and the foot traffic is much less than in other well-known parks like Yellowstone or Yosemite. The scale of how much wilderness is out there is hard for me to comprehend. But I’m glad I’ve been able to see it and hope to be back to experience even more.
I'm recommending @linuxmint to those who want to keep on using their existing #computer, and refuse to dispose of it just because #Windows 11 won't support it.
It's not because Mint is the best distro ever. It's because it is a decent distro that resembles Windows and will make the change easier. I know those using it will eventually look around, and possibly try out other distros.

Ultimo giorno di Agosto!
Mi sono divertito molto a riprendere a guardare i film, ho riscoperto molti gusti che torneranno utili come ispirazione (a parte quella ciofeca che è stata Battlefield Earth, l'unico film che lo odio davvero).
Inoltre la mia prima immersione sui GdR in solitario (Ironsworn ed in futuro qualsiasi GdR giocato in solo) mi ha aperto la possibilità di poter imparare a giocare i GdR senza dover ricorrere ad unire un gruppo, ed anche aprendo ad una creatività innescata.

Ora che ho aperto un blog su Log, a breve pubblicherò i primi due capitoli della mia prima campagna di Ironsworn, e presto scriverò un postmortem su come ho vissuto l'esperienza di giocare Ironsworn e su come ci si sente a giocare i GdR in solitario (in generale).
Però penso comunque che la miglior esperienza del GdR è sempre in compagnia, ma purtroppo come già accennavo è impossibile da dove abito io. Nella zona di Palermo si può trovare solo nella capitale. Nient'altro.

Ospitando progetti falsi su piattaforme di sviluppo popolari (GitHub e GitLab), gli aggressori inducono gli utenti a eseguire payload dannosi che estraggono componenti aggiuntivi da un repository controllato dagli hacker. Di conseguenza, trojan di accesso remoto e spyware vengono scaricati sui dispositivi delle vittime.
Gli analisti di Positive Technologies hanno presentato un rapporto sulle minacce informatiche per la prima metà del 2025. Secondo i loro dati, il metodo principale per attaccare con successo le organizzazioni rimane il malware: è stato utilizzato nel 63% dei casi.
Allo stesso tempo, la quota di distribuzione di malware tramite siti web ha raggiunto il 13%: quasi il doppio rispetto allo stesso periodo del 2024. Secondo i ricercatori, il numero record di tali attacchi in tre anni è dovuto alla crescente popolarità di strategie mirate agli sviluppatori. Compromettendo repository aperti e typosquatting, i criminali si infiltrano nelle catene di approvvigionamento.
Ad esempio, in Russia, Brasile e Turchia, una campagna dannosa mascherata da centinaia di progetti open source ha preso di mira giocatori e investitori in criptovalute, scaricando sui loro dispositivi un infostealer che ruba indirizzi di portafogli crittografici, dati personali e bancari.
Nel frattempo, almeno 233 vittime negli Stati Uniti, in Europa e in Asia sono state colpite da una campagna del gruppo nordcoreano Lazarus, che ha impiantato un programma JavaScript nei sistemi degli sviluppatori, progettato per raccogliere informazioni di sistema.
“Le tattiche dei gruppi APT si stanno evolvendo: si passa dal phishing di massa ad attacchi mirati agli sviluppatori. Il loro nuovo obiettivo sono le supply chain di diverse tecnologie. Introducendo malware nei processi di sviluppo, gli aggressori sferrano un doppio colpo: colpiscono non solo la vittima stessa, ma anche i progetti a cui sono associati. Prevediamo che questa tendenza acquisirà slancio: gli attacchi alle aziende IT e agli sviluppatori con l’obiettivo di indebolire le supply chain si verificheranno più spesso”, commenta Anastasia Osipova, analista junior del gruppo di ricerca Positive Technologies.
Il rapporto rileva inoltre che dall’inizio dell’anno gli aggressori hanno utilizzato attivamente tecniche di typosquatting negli ecosistemi open source, sfruttando gli errori degli utenti durante l’inserimento dei nomi dei pacchetti.
Ad esempio, gli esperti avevano precedentemente identificato una campagna dannosa nel repository PyPI che prendeva di mira sviluppatori, specialisti di ML e appassionati interessati a integrare DeepSeek nei loro sistemi. I pacchetti dannosi deepseeek e deepseekai potevano raccogliere dati sull’utente e sul suo computer, oltre a rubare variabili d’ambiente.

I am partial to something I do for many websites which is clicking on View > Page Style > No Style as this renders the page with very little interactivity on the elements, making them a tad easier to copy, and allowing images to be saved, etc.
But the issue remains the same, the default is still difficult, so jumping additional hoops is required.
