Y’all, history may not repeat, but it sure does reflect. In 1934, some of the German military were not happy about Hitler. This led to the Night of the Long Knives, where any military or political leader not willing to swear a loyalty oath was eliminated. Subsequently the German forces were consolidated into a unified command under Hitler’s direct control.
I tell you that story to tell you this one. The Secretary of Scotch and War, Fox weekend host Pete Hegseth has demanded that every Flag Officer in every branch of the service, everywhere in every command in the world, must fly to DC Tuesday for a meeting. It is unheard of to enable this sort of security threat.
This puts the entire military structure at risk. It removes generals and admirals from fields of active engagement. It is insane in a world where we have secure communications. 800 Flag Officers and their staff is about 1200 people, most of whom have dedicated 30+ years to service. Thats 36,000 years of experience.

Condividere il progetto su cui si sta lavorando può essere un buon modo per infondere coraggio a chi voglia cimentarsi nell’arte del cucito.
È poco che cucio, ma la passione si è trasformata in lavoro in poco tempo pur non cancellando come fosse il mio mondo in bianco e nero, senza ago e filo nella macchina o nelle mani, il mondo prima di adesso.
‘Cucire’ era mia nonna che aggiungeva i polsini alle giacche ormai troppo corte.
‘Cucire’ era un’amica speciale che per regalo di nozze mi scriveva una lettera chiusa da una busta cucita a mano con la scritta ‘Auguri!’, ricamata sul cartoncino.
‘Cucire’ era la sarta della merceria del paese che trasformava i pantaloni lisi dei miei figli in panta-toppe.
‘Cucire’ era tante cose, ma non ero io.
Oggi condivido invece i progetti su cui sto lavorando: delle camice di seta con taglio a kimono. Ancora mi chiedo come io mi sia ritrovata qui. Ma mi sento a casa. Una casa cucita su misura.
E voi, in che progetto state mettendo le mani? Rattoppate? Ricamate? Cucite scarpe scucite? Cucite per sopravvivere?

Personalmente la userò fra poco per clonare una camicia che mi è stata commissionata. L’imperativo era non devastarla poiché ancora in ottimo stato, ma usarla per creare una nuova camicia come regalo di Natale 😀
Ogni tecnica è buona se per te va bene 😀 questa precisione del video mi incuriosiva perché una volta eseguito il cartamodello sei a più di metà dell’opera 😀 sembra molto preciso!

That would be bad. People who have made it that far up the ranks are incredibly well educated in history and war. We stay out of conflicts because we have a military class that knows when escalation will make things worse. As a rule, military leaders do not want to put their troops in combat. They’ve all been in combat.
It’s the fucking chickenhawks and Christian Nationalists that want to send our kids to meat grinders. If Hegseth makes our military leaders resign if they won’t swear an oath, those that are left will be ridiculously dangerous.
This is a very real crisis, and one that I see no way to stop.

in reply to MissConstrue • • •if Hegseth demands a loyalty oath directly to Donald Trump or whomever is President of the United States, that is obviously meant to override and replace their oath to the US constitution, neither I nor anybody else of right mind would be surprised if they pulled side arms on the eminent threat to the constitution and arrested Hegseth.
If there is an oath test, it is probably very ambiguous, and will not contain sufficient evidence to end this executive coup.

This means we will have beheaded the military, left them with no way to return to their command, shut the government down, and woo howdy y’all, if you wanted to give the military illegal commands, that would be the perfect time.
Also, if I were an enemy of the country, and I realized that Hegseth had already fired all the female generals, like the ones in charge of #infosec, and then every Flag Officer was disabled, that is when I would hit. China has access to our power grid. NK has gotten into all sorts of stuff. Russia has their fingers everywhere.
I gotta admit it, I’m not often spooked, but when my staff Sargent bestie says “ya know keeping a couple of weeks of water and canned goods might not be a bad idea.” I get twitchy.
