Hyundai Profit Meets Estimates on Solid EV, Hybrid Car Sales in US, Europe
Hyundai Motor Co. said US tariffs cost it about 1.8 trillion won ($1.3 billion) in the third quarter, though this week’s trade agreement between Seoul and Washington that lowers import tariffs may offer the automaker some reprieve.Hyonhee Shin (Bloomberg)
Ofgem has announced the first phase of its scheme to address the record £4.4bn energy debt that has built up over the cost of living crisis.
Anyone on means-tested benefits, who built up energy debt of more than £100 between April 2022 and March 2024, will be eligible to apply as part of the £500 million debt write off.
Reacting to the announcement, Eva Watkinson, Head of Campaigns at Debt Justice, said:
This scheme will bring much needed relief for thousands of people receiving benefits."

That has been stuck in my mind for a while. On the one hand, I would have loved it if Vincent had become utterly obscure, but had a longer, more balanced life in which he created much more work, but I also don't like the idea that their brief interaction with the man '"fixed" all his problems.
Still, that's very much in line with the show, so why not? Yes, the turmoil was part of him, but now the ending suggests that suffering is a requirement for good art.

Maybe, but my philosophy is that art is subjective so "good art" is arbitrary. Artificial scarcity & hierarchy ensure most artists starve while assigning undue value to other art. Would I like the famous work more than lesser known contemporaries without the fame? Is better possible?
