Maybe if the peacekeepers would have done their job, but they failed. Iran is smuggling weapons into Gaza so they can launch attacks on Israeli civilians, while Hamas is doing its own part, to brainwash its population, while Israel needs to prevent that one way or another. Indeed, the current Israeli leadership is out of control and cares little about human suffering. Israel did commit serious war crimes, but I am not convinced that it is genocide.
