CHi sta seguendo la “nuova” politica americana – che non e' ancora iniziata, quindi per i giornali e' bello perche' possono dire di tutto e di piu', tanto non e' successo nulla – avra' notato una tendenza. Tutti quei miliardari che prima se ne stavano in sordina, stanno – uno alla volta – uscendo allo scoperto e stanno di fatto ammettendo di essere gli artefici dell' ascesa di Trump al potere.
Dal mio punto di vista, la cosa in un certo senso e' confortante. Ho scritto molte volte che dietro quest'ascesa ci sono i GAFAM, o GAMAM , un acronimo che significa Google, Amazon, Meta (ex Facebook), Apple, Microsoft.
Oggi, grazie anche al precursore che e' Musk, stanno uscendo tutti allo scoperto, unendosi a Trump, e iniziando , dichiarazione e intervista dopo dichiarazione ad intervista, ad ammettere – de facto – che dietro ci sono loro.
Sarebbe stupido ridurre il tutto ad una questione di tasse , visto che gia' oggi queste enormi corporations di tasse ne pagano ben poche. Del resto, non abbiamo visto sostanziali cambiamenti nel regime fiscale di questi oligarchi sotto Biden, quindi alla fine e' chiaro chi comanda.
Ma il fatto che un individuo non ancora nominato da Trump per fare qualcosa si metta a trattare accordi internazionali, o che Bezos metta a tacere un giornale intero per non disturbare la campagna elettorale, fa capire che sta succedendo una cosa che era stata prevista ... negli anni '70.
Cioe', non l'ho davvero previsto io. Era contenuto in alcuni volantini delle Brigate Rosse, durante il sequestro moro.
Stiamo assistendo alla nascita dello “stato delle multinazionali”, un sistema nel quale a comandare sono le multinazionali, con i governi ridotti a banche, la cui funzione e' stampare soldi per dare liquidita' agli oligarchi.
Ed e' quest'ultimo particolare che dovrebbe farci riflettere: non so se l'avete notato, ma la destra di trump attacca moltissimo la UE , la commissione, il parlamento, ma la BCE normalmente viene toccata pochissimo. Ed e' questa strana riluttanza che fa quadrare tutto, su un dettaglio che rende ancora piu' credibile la previsione contenuta nei volantini delle BR.
E' brutto dire che una banda di assassini ci aveva visto giusto, e probabilmente la ragione e' che una banda di assassini riconosce bene i suoi simili, ma il fatto rimane quello: loro lo avevano scritto, noi lo stiamo vedendo succedere.
E adesso sta arrivando la fase di espansione. A quanto , Elkann e' entrato nel CDA di META. Il guaio di questa notizia e' che Elkann possiede il gruppo GEDI, che porta in dote quanto segue:

e voi capite che se unite le aziende di Meta e questo, possiamo dire che META abbia posto una SERIA ipoteca sull'informazione italiana, ovvero sulla politica, visto che un elettore disinformato e' solo un parco buoi da mungere alle elezioni.
Il fatto che questo processo arrivi in Europa passando per l'Italia non e' strano, come ho detto la Lewinsky e' un modello obsoleto, ma il punto e' un altro. Piano piano, le multinazionali stanno divorando la politica, con l'eccezione degli organi istituzionali che hanno autonomia per statuto, come le banche centrali oppure la magistratura.
Guarda caso, quello che i partiti di destra, che sono i burattini di questo gioco, odiano.
Stiamo cioe' per andare verso il cosiddetto “stato Imperialista delle Multinazionali”, descritto molto bene gia' negli anni '70.
Ma cos'e' , di fatto, questo Stato Imperialista delle Multinazionali?
Le Brigate Rosse (BR) concepivano lo “Stato imperialista delle multinazionali” come una nuova forma di potere autoritario e tecnocratico che avrebbe sostituito le democrazie tradizionali. Secondo la loro visione:
- Lo Stato sarebbe diventato uno strumento al servizio dei grandi gruppi multinazionali, assumendo il ruolo di una “grossa banca” per favorire lo sviluppo capitalistico.
- Il potere politico si sarebbe fuso con quello economico, superando i confini nazionali e le prerogative degli Stati tradizionali.
- Questo nuovo sistema avrebbe demolito il disegno partecipativo delle costituzioni democratiche, instaurando un regime autoritario per gestire la crisi economica e sociale.
- La sovranità nazionale e l'autonomia della politica sarebbero state eliminate, con lo Stato che sarebbe diventato una mera funzione dello sviluppo capitalistico.
- Il capitalismo si sarebbe esteso dalle fabbriche a tutta la società, creando una “fabbrica sociale” dove il capitale e lo Stato sarebbero diventati un'unica entità.
Le BR vedevano questo “Stato delle multinazionali” come un nemico da combattere attraverso la lotta armata, considerandolo l'evoluzione inevitabile del sistema capitalistico in crisi.
Piu' precisamente, prevedevano che:
Lo Stato come strumento delle multinazionali:
Le BR immaginavano uno Stato che avrebbe abbandonato il suo ruolo di mediatore sociale.Le politiche economiche sarebbero state dettate direttamente dalle esigenze delle grandi corporazioni.Il welfare state sarebbe stato smantellato in favore di politiche pro-business, cioe' privatizzato.Le decisioni strategiche sarebbero state prese in consigli d'amministrazione invece che in parlamento
Fusione tra potere politico ed economico:
I confini tra Stato e grandi aziende sarebbero diventati sempre più sfumati. Manager e tecnocrati avrebbero sostituito i politici tradizionali nei ruoli chiave.Le lobby aziendali avrebbero avuto un'influenza diretta e preponderante sulla legislazione.Le multinazionali avrebbero gestito direttamente settori strategici come energia, difesa e comunicazioni
Regime autoritario tecnocratico:
La democrazia rappresentativa sarebbe stata svuotata di significato. Le decisioni sarebbero state prese da “esperti” non eletti in nome dell'efficienza. I diritti dei lavoratori e le libertà sindacali sarebbero stati fortemente limitati.Il dissenso sarebbe stato represso con la giustificazione della stabilità economica
Erosione della sovranità nazionale:
Le decisioni economiche chiave sarebbero state prese a livello sovranazionale.Gli Stati nazionali sarebbero diventati meri esecutori di politiche decise altrove.Le multinazionali avrebbero potuto facilmente aggirare le leggi nazionali.La politica estera sarebbe stata subordinata agli interessi economici globali
Estensione del capitalismo a tutta la società:
Ogni aspetto della vita sociale sarebbe stato mercificato e reso fonte di profitto. L'istruzione, la sanità e la cultura sarebbero state gestite con logiche aziendali. Il tempo libero stesso sarebbe diventato un'estensione della produttività. Le relazioni sociali sarebbero state mediate dal consumo e dalla tecnologia.
Le BR vedevano in questa evoluzione una minaccia totalizzante che giustificava, secondo la loro ideologia, il ricorso alla violenza rivoluzionaria come unica risposta possibile. E su questo possiamo avere una grossa allergia, ma se la loro soluzione era sbagliata, bisogna ammettere che l'analisi del problema e' impressionante: e' proprio cio' che sta succedendo.
Sta succedendo ora, sotto i nostri occhi.
Ed era prevedibile 40 anni fa, quando non si parlava di Internet, non esistevano i social network, le multinazionali erano poche e politicizzate.... insomma, era gia' nell'aria.
Se non , diciamo, qualcosa di ben pianificato.

Immagina arrivare a 70 anni e scoprire che non esiste più la sanità pubblica e le assicurazioni hanno imposto una serie di leggi per evitare legalmente di coprirti.
Dalla finanziarizzazione della società ti puoi difendere più o meno con creatività individuale, ma solo finché sei in età lavorativa.

I understand that the EFF strives to support free speech online, which this technically supports, but the EFF should also understand better than anyone that platforms beholden to advertisers choosing to allow harmful content only results in the decline of that platform's revenue from losing advertisers, which almost always directly causes enshittification of the platform. (See: Twitter, or "X" I guess.)

To a lot of people, it seemed there for a moment y'all were going mask-off in support of social manipulation and corporate greed. A scary direction for the EFF.

In today's day and age, it's not just what is censored but what is also promoted. Hate speech and factual misinformation were already rampant of the Meta platforms, as they are on the X platform. Social media companies are companies, they will follow what they think will bring them profit and follow what they believe the trend is. Right now, they believe far-right politicians represent their best interests and far-right ideology is trending. Therefore, it makes sense to calibrate their policies and algorithms to support those ideas.
If these platforms were neutral, removing this censorship would already be a pretty bad idea. These platforms definitely aren't neutral, and they already had tremendous issues with content related to hate speech before this decision.
Even 4chan has moderation, it shouldn't be more moderated than the one service our collective grandparents were actually motivated to figure out how to use.

I teach soon-to-be librarians now why this is not okay and how to move beyond it. The profession hasn't caught up with what I'm teaching yet, but I teach the way I do so that it will, someday.

POSIWID: Purpose of a system is what it does. Don’t put scare quotes around “mistakes”. Say flat out why we think this explanation is absurd. They are long past any benefit of any doubt. They now should receive the full weight of doubt. They earned our skepticism year after year, cynical reversal after cynical reversal.

in reply to Electronic Frontier Foundation • • •respectfully, I think that you (the person in charge of this account) perhaps don't quite realize what this actually means, and why we're not happy about it. This isn't a play at making these platforms more transparent or democratized, this is to allow hate speech that financially benefits the platform to spread unimpeded. They now have carte blanch to allow their algorithms to further agitate and misinform their user base into capital H harmful beliefs that can cause physical, material harm to others.
In short, I think calling this a bad take is an understatement. Perhaps... Read the room. You probably would have picked up the general vibe on this subject was extremely negative by the kinds of people who are often aligned with EFF values.

in reply to Electronic Frontier Foundation • • •The article is in fact not as bad as most people point out. The worst part is the last paragraph, which is also used as intro in this toot. It goes against the rest of the article where the EFF points out censorship against minorities, which should effectively not be done.
Unfortunately, having listened to Mark's ramblings in his 6-minute video, what Meta calls "Free Speech" is mostly "Free Hate". Combining with algorithms which push for more engagement, and the human brain which lusts after controversies and hate, this is just a recipe for disaster.
Anyway, time to write that last message on WhatsApp and ditch my final link with Meta...
