Wenn eine kleine Destille die tatsächlich alle selbst herstellt, dann okay! Aber in den meisten Fällen werden die Destillate doch vermutlich industriell in Massen hergestellt bzw. eingekauft, nehme ich an. Ebenso der Grundalkohol.
Das Komponieren kostet ein wenig Zeit, die Produktentwicklung insgesamt will ich auch nicht schmälern. Dennoch, im Vergleich zum Aufwand z.b. beim Whisky empfinde ich viele Gin Produkte als überteuert.

I think the only #Fediverse apps that could comply with age verification laws (as they have the tools available) are #Threads & #WordPress (I believe commercial plugins are available for the latter).

@evan I agree. It's the best way. One can meet someone (or already met them) so that's basically "verification". And this method also won't trigger Digital Privacy and Data Retention laws, and no PII leak issues later other than the usual (email, handle, and whatever the user [irresponsibly] shared)—if ever that happens.
It's better than having PII that many jurisdictions are strict about. For example, here in the Philippines, companies are not allowed to announce "Happy Birthdays" or post a list of monthly birthdays unless they acquired a written permission from their employees. Birthdays are one such PII that our Privacy law takes very seriously. We can even decline giving our birthdays in job application forms (which passes to many hands), and there's nothing they can do about it. An individual has an exclusive right to disclose their birth date.
So, yeah, a local instance is better because such scenarios like requiring age verification can be done without storing any data. In addition, only the local Privacy and Data Retention laws will apply (unless the individual is a foreign passport holder of course).

@luca @evan From what I understand about Mississippi, regardless of the method, you must be able to be sure and able to know whether adult content can be exposed to minors. You can completely prohibit access to minors or simply control the exposure of such content. It doesn't matter how. For the UK, it is largely related to the number of users. Above a certain threshold, it is mandatory (see Wiki).

Techniques used by SPHERE and its 3 instruments include -
1. Adaptive optics to correct for the turbulent effects of the Earth’s atmosphere
2. Coronagraph to block out light from the star
3. Polarization filters (light reflected off planets is polarized).
4. Use of IR bands such as H and Ks that are translucent to earth's atmosphere.
