Per chi avesse letto il mio messaggio di ieri sull'idea di lasciare la mia istanza #Nextcloud e spostare tutto su #cryptpad.org, beh oggi ho scoperto #mailbox.org che per due spiccioli l'anno ti dร  tutto quello che ti dร  #KryptPad piรน la mail (e altre cose piรน o meno interessanti).

Se mi convincessi che mailbox.org รจ la cosa buona potrei mollare GMail...

Vi viene in mente qualche punto debole di #mailbox.org che dovrei valutare meglio prima di decidere?

Io sono passata a @mailbox_org quest'anno, ma uso solo l'email, ho l'abbonamento base che piรน base non si puรฒ. Per quel che vale, non ho nulla di che lamentarmi. ๐Ÿ˜

A few months ago, I installed #Nextcloud on my shared hosting domain to use it as a repository of files I like to have always available, whether on my phone or at the PC.

Unfortunately, Nextcloud requires SSH access for maintainance and I don't have it. As of now, everything is working but Nextcloud gives me warnings that I can't address without SSH access, and I fear the time will come when I can no longer use it securely.

I really like #CryptPad and was thinking of moving everything to an instance of that platform.

On CryptPad, the files are encrypted, so I could also store personal stuff there without any major worries. The OpenOffice suite is available, so I could even do some editing. They would handle all the updates I have to handle myself now.

It looks like CryptPad is definitely better for me. Can you spot any downside of this solution?

all required cli commands, you can do also with the "occ web" App, you can installwithin NC.
If you only need a Web Office, Cryptpad will be fine for you. But NC has some more features, so you don't run NC only for Office normaly.

I've used occ web a few times but current NC release is no longer supported.

I use NC as a pure file repository so CryptPad web office is beyond what I really need (but I think it'll be useful every now and then).

Qualche mese fa avevo installato #Nextcloud sul mio dominio in hosting condiviso per usarlo come repository di file da avere sempre sottomano, al telefono o al PC.

Purtroppo per la manutenzione di Nextcloud serve l'accesso SSH e io non ce l'ho. Per ora funziona tutto ma Nextcloud mi dร  dei warning su cui non posso intervenire senza accesso SSH e temo che prima o poi arrivi il momento in cui non potrรฒ piรน usarlo in sicurezza.

Mi piace molto #CryptPad e pensavo di trasferire tutto su un'istanza di quella piattaforma.

Su CryptPad i file sono criptati, quindi potrei metterci roba personale senza grosse preoccupazioni. รˆ disponibile la suite OpenOffice quindi potrei fare anche qualche editing. Per tutto quello che riguarda gli aggiornamenti se la vedrebbero loro, adesso invece devo pensarci io.

Qual รจ il rovescio della medaglia rispetto alla mia situazione attuale?
