a) the risk of abuse of the solution for other applications (including political purposes)
b) the huge number of false positives (no waiting for 2 alerts does not work)
c) the fact that the real targets will use other technologies (e.g. sharing links to encrypted files).
d) chilling effect on teenagers.

Summary of latest proposal:
1) Detection of known CSAM and of new CSAM using AI (2 hits before you are reported) remain fully unacceptable because it just does not work for technical reasons pointed out earlier.
2) Grooming detection in text and audio is abandoned; information is pseudonymized before it is reported (presumably identity of the user is known)
3) User has to give consent before the client side scanning; details are not known but it is unclear what happens if consent is not given – is the message not sent? Why do policy makes believe that popups solve problems (cookies anyone)?

Es könnte so einfach sein – Gesetzespakete ("Omnibusse"), die auch nur eine fragliche Änderung enthalten, dürfen einfach nicht mehr akzeptiert werden. Effizienz darf niemals zu Lasten von Richtigkeit gehen!

Bonus Idee: In jeden Omnibus ein Gesetz schmuggeln (oder in manche mehrere), das das Einbringen fachfremder Gesetze in einen Themen-Omnibus mit Haftstrafe belegt.

Il vero punto di svolta sarebbe quello di far capire alle persone che l'informazione mainstream ha gettato una cappa di silenzio sulla questione chatcontrol ed è difficile farlo capire alle persone, quando l'informazione mainstream tace e, se possibile, nasconde.

Vediamo se almeno questo blitz parlamentare servirà a scuotere le coscienze

@mattiz6276 sì, naturalmente stiamo parlando di chat control 1.0, quello che era già entrato in vigore "transitoriamente" per cinque anni fino al marzo 2026 quando l'europarlamento non aveva rinnovato la proroga (Anche se le società statunitensi continuavano ad applicarlo lo stesso 🤬).

Si tratta di scansione indiscriminata dei messaggi sulle comunicazioni non crittografate da parte di quei fornitori di servizio che volontariamente scelgono di farlo

@mattiz6276 WhatsApp Comunque è escluso perché si tratta di una app di messaggistica crittografata (p.es i msg Instagram non sono più crittografata da qualche mese e oggi sono sottoposti a scansione di chatcontrol 1.0

ChatControl 2.0 sarà invece il provvedimento che potrebbe colpire proprio le app di messaggistica crittografata come WhatsApp e come lo stesso Signal. Se passa la legge, WA sarà monitorato e Signal probabilmente lascerà la EU

@mattiz6276 chiaro, ma non è dignitoso fuggire su per le montagne per non farsi prendere. I Partigiani in montagna non ci andavano solo per scappare e magari creare delle tane sotto terra in cui vivere tranquilli qualche mese in più, ma lo facevano soprattutto per riorganizzarsi e sparare sulle truppe tedesche, in modo da farle andare via...

PD e Forza Italia sono sempre stati d'accordo. Renzini e democristi vari pure. Lega e FdI sono stati d'accordo fino a un anno fa, ma il governo italiano è stato altalenante e in questa votazione gli eurodeputati hanno votato contro (inclusi i vannacciani). AVS è contraria, ma più per influenza dei Verdi europei, legati ai Pirati Europei. La sinistra invece è tiepidamente contraria, ma senza spunti particolari

@mattiz6276 il problema come diceva informapirata è che con col CC2.0 si andrebbe a colpire ogni tipo di app di messaggistica. Senza esclusioni.
Non basta dire: "lascio Whatsapp o i social maggiori." Per esistere bisogna sottoporsi a tale legislazione.
Il risultato sarà la perdita di alcuni dei servizi europei oppure l'inizio di molteplici battaglie legali (come dichiarato già da Tuta!)

@Makte0 @nextredblog Le piattaforme open source non si toccano, Linux lo ha dimostrato. Credo che per un governo sia facile tirare giù un server centrale, ma sia più complicato tirare giù una rete federata, come Mastodon, Matrix o Meshtastic.
Onestamente, non vorrei nemmeno fare queste ipotesi, spero solo che la situazione si risolva, come se non fosse mai esistita.

@mattiz6276 @Makte0 @nextredblog Modi definitivi per risolvere una situazione così complessa, non ce ne sono. Il problema enorme però è più della comunità, che della politica. La politica si mette in mezzo e cerca di risolvere a proprio modo, cioè facendo i propri interessi di potere, un problema che "dal basso" in pochi hanno il coraggio di affrontare per quello che è: genitori cresciuti rimbambiti davanti alla tv, che stanno crescendo bambini altrettanto rincitrulliti con uno schermo elettronico che fa loro da tata.
Del confronto non se ne parla, dell'educazione neanche, la scuola che insegna i 7 re di Roma e non tutto il resto... Allora la politica cosa fa? Trova il nemico nell'internet, e non le pare vero.

🇦🇹👤 #CRIF is one of the largest credit reference agencies in #Austria. It has built up a largely unknown ‘shadow registry’ and use this data to assign credit scores. However, for 90% of those affected, the score is based primarily only on address, gender and age.

❌ We are convinced that this unwarranted data collection and the scoring of those 90% violates the #GDPR. We are therefore bringing an injunction and a class action for damages.

Weil ich schnell den Überblick verliere, wenn es um Ländergesetze geht, habe ich abgefragt, welche Länder absehbar ihr #PsychKG ändern wollen. Das Ergebnis: ziemlich viele und in einigen sind die Änderungen schon in Arbeit.

Mich interessiert vor allem, ob es potenziell neue Datenaustauschregeln gibt. Aber vielleicht ist die Übersicht auch für Leute spannend, die sich mit Zwang in der #Psychiatrie, #SpDI und anderem beschäftigen.

Every time the degenerate governments in the US opened some website for snitching on other people, there were comments about automated solutions to spam those systems with gibberish. I know because I myself made such comments more than once.

Now the shoe is on the other foot. Europeans should start running those same systems 24/7 to frustrate #ChatControl implementations.

🔒 The EU is pushing Chat Control again: scanning your private messages "to keep you safe."

And behind it looms CSAR — which could force apps to scan your chats on your own phone, BEFORE they're encrypted (client-side scanning).

Translation: if someone reads the message before the lock closes, the lock is worthless. There's no backdoor "only for the good guys."

End-to-end encryption is non-negotiable. 🛡️

Doch wenn #Pestizidwirkstoffe künftig unbefristet zugelassen werden, gefährdet das Umwelt, Artenvielfalt und Gesundheit. Bürokratieabbau darf nicht zulasten von Umwelt- und Verbraucherschutz gehen.
