Il mio discorso al Privacy Pride 2023
Oggi ci troviamo qui uniti dalla preoccupazione per la nostra libertà e la nostra privacy. Stiamo assistendo a un momento cruciale nella storia dell'Europa, un momento in cui dobbiamo alzarci e difendere i nostri diritti fondamentali. Stiamo parlando della legge su #chatControl, una legge che minaccia la nostra libertà di espressione e la nostra privacy.La legge su chatControl è stata presentata con la promessa di proteggerci dai pericoli online, ma a quale costo? Ciò che sembra una misura di sicurezza può facilmente trasformarsi in uno strumento di #sorveglianza massiva e controllo governativo. Non possiamo permettere che il governo abbia accesso indiscriminato alle nostre comunicazioni private, alle nostre conversazioni e ai nostri pensieri.
La nostra #privacy è un diritto fondamentale. È il fondamento su cui si basa una società libera e democratica. Senza privacy, non possiamo esprimere le nostre opinioni liberamente senza timore di ritorsioni o persecuzioni. Senza privacy, non possiamo essere noi stessi, ma siamo costantemente osservati e giudicati.
La legge su chatControl minaccia anche la nostra libertà di espressione. Quando sappiamo che le nostre conversazioni sono monitorate, siamo meno propensi a condividere le nostre idee, a esprimere le nostre preoccupazioni e a partecipare ai dibattiti pubblici. La paura della censura e delle conseguenze legali ci costringe al silenzio.
Ma oggi, qui, in questa piazza, stiamo alzando la voce. Stiamo dicendo ai governi europei che non possiamo e non vogliamo rinunciare alla nostra privacy e alla nostra libertà di espressione. Stiamo chiedendo al governo di rivedere questa legge e garantire che sia bilanciata e rispettosa dei nostri diritti costituzionali.
Non si tratta di essere contro la sicurezza online; si tratta di essere a favore della sicurezza senza compromettere la nostra libertà. Esistono modi migliori per affrontare le minacce online senza violare i diritti dei cittadini. Dobbiamo lavorare insieme per trovare soluzioni che proteggano sia la nostra sicurezza che i nostri #diritti.
Chiediamo al governo di ascoltarci, di ascoltare la nostra preoccupazione per la legge su chatControl. Chiediamo una revisione aperta e trasparente della legge, coinvolgendo esperti, la società civile e il pubblico. Chiediamo un bilanciamento tra la sicurezza e la privacy.
Oggi siamo qui per difendere i nostri diritti, per difendere la nostra libertà e la nostra privacy. Non possiamo permettere che la paura ci faccia rinunciare a ciò che ci rende veramente liberi. Uniamoci, parliamo ad alta voce e facciamo sentire la nostra voce. Insieme siamo più forti!

⚠ Im Frühjahr haben wir deshalb um Akteneinsicht gebeten – woraufhin Acxiom die hessische Behörde kurzerhand verklagte.

There would be division that made 3x per user profit compared to the ads version, with lower server costs and higher user satisfaction. What a fox that would put in the hen house.
A smart manager could ride that to the top.

in reply to noyb.eu • • •To be fair, Meta tools are not a right. Social media is not a right. Using them is a choice. A very peer pressured choice. But still a choice.
One of the things I like about Mastodon is that while a choice, you also have a lot more choices under it about where you put what you want. You can even make your own instance and decide you own level of privacy. It may cost money to host and time to manage. But anything worth doing is usually not easy or free.
But lets not confuse a free-ish service with a right. (Spoiler, it's not free, you just currently don't have to and over money, but that is apparently coming.)

Yesterday I received the email 'Upcoming changes to your ad experience' from Meta shown in the screenshot below. Meta now actually wants to force us to pay money if we want to object to data collection for personalised advertising.
