Immer wieder wurde die Einführung des neuen Ein-/Ausreisesystems der EU verschoben, nun soll es Ende 2024 kommen. Alle Reisenden aus Drittstaaten müssen dann ihre biometrischen Daten abgeben. Das verlängert Grenzkontrollen drastisch.

Plötzlich könnte alles ganz schnell gehen. Mit einem Kompromissvorschlag will die spanische Ratspräsidentschaft die Chatkontrolle-Kritiker doch noch zu einem Ja bewegen. Doch weiterhin steht im Vorschlag, „dass verschlüsseltes Material in den Anwendungsbereich der Verordnung fallen sollte“.

in reply to Patrick Breyer • • •If I understand correctly, the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) has started a preliminary investigation into this possible breach of the Digital Services Act (DSA) and GDPR by the European Commission. No source to back that up currently however.
Yet, it's quite unfathomable that a large majority of the European Parliament does not want to discuss this issue.
