My personal recommendation (absolutely feel free to not care^^) would be to just delete/archive the mail and be done. I respect your choice and agree with you 100% and understand why you want to share it, but to me personally it feels strange to make that public. At least with an Screenshot of the mail and so on. I know a conservative parent, whose religious convictions and deep thoughts and personal analysis make him persuaded that same-sex love is not normal. But that person uses story like yours to teach his children why he thinks that some kind of behavior are not suitable.

I always try to view things from both sides. So, as a parent, you may think that "cis heterosexual" is the path of least resistance and it may prevent difficulties for your child in the future. I have some understanding for this view.
However, apart from what they may think is right for the child, it won't change the reality that same-sex relationships exist and should be accepted as normal. Less common perhaps, but normal.

I'm glad you are not changing your art; it wasn't wrong so there's nothing to fix. I remember when my 8 year old daughter first saw this panel she felt confused and embarrassed, and it was an excellent cue for us to explain to her that yes, sometimes girls love girls and there's nothing wrong with it. I think it was her first introduction to the idea of same-sex love, and seeing it in her favorite comic made it easier to understand. Thanks for that!

What I find most offensive about this "request" is the idea that somehow it's a good thing for you to compromise your creative vision so that it's palatable for an audience you have no interest in catering to in the first place.
I'd be inclined to say something like "Thank you for your email, but I fear you are mistaken about the nature of your relationship to Pepper & Carrot. It is not intended for people who aren't comfortable sharing same-sex relationships with their children."

A volte basta poco : sito ufficiale di F , qui trovate ogni guida chiara aggiornata con supporto!

ho immaginato che stessi parlando dell'app, perchรฉ quando ti iscrivi a un server Friendica non devi installare nulla. Probabilmente hai trovato sul sito le istruzioni per installare una nuova istanza su un server connesso a internet...
In effetti i software che usi nei server del Fediverso sono software che chiunque abbia competenze sistemistiche di base puรฒ installare, ma questo puรฒ far fare confusione all'utent finale, che magari crede di dover installare qualcosa anche lui
Post II Anche sul sito ufficiale uno ci sono date, nรฉ di pubblicazione, nรฉ di aggiornamento, sarebbe piรน comodo se mi accorgo che devo aggiornare qsa: senza leggere in giro. Io iniziai dai mainframe e di guide informatiche e di siti aziendali da cui scaricare autonomamente ne ho fatto a iosa for dummies! Quel ch'รจ banale per uno non lo รจ un altro! Non ho mai posseduto uno #smartphone, quindi non so in che senso dici "non sempre รจ possibile farne completamente a meno".
Credo sia una questione di volontร e di organizzazione.
Fare a meno del tutto di un numero di #cellulare รจ davvero complicato, si dovrebbe rinunciare a #SPID e #CIE, vedendosi quindi negati una serie di diritti.
Almeno per ora, perรฒ, fare a meno di uno smartphone รจ possibile.
Per ora.
Dipenderร anche da: in quanti continueremo a volere che resti possibile.

In effetti tutti i miei rapporti a distanza con le pubbliche amministrazioni passano attraverso computer, dopo autenticazione fatta con #CIE. Solo una volta son stato costretto ad installare l'app IO, quella volta funzionรฒ su un emulatore, oggi non saprei.
Quando dico che ci vuole volontร , intendo che bisogna insistere. La mia banca, non avessi chiesto, non mi avrebbe svelato la possibilitร di usare i servizi via rete autenticandomi tramite telefonata ad un numero verde.

Un lavoro GRANDIOSO.
Scorso le pagine del pdf velocemente col tablet a letto ๐, cosi al volo mi pare di aver trovato delle imprecisioni (niente di che) e almeno una cosa che non mi piace ( mio problema personale che odia in certi frangenti le auto-promozioni), i vari link. Credo che quando si vuole veicolare certi argomenti si debba rimanere piรน in disparte. Ripeto รจ un mio problema. Domani vedo di leggere meglio. ๐

I'm sorry but this is horrible. It's obvious that the user experience isn't the priority because if it was then connecting to ones own instance would have been the first thing you added.
This is nothing more then a glorified search tool that doesn't even work that well. I couldn't find a single video from my own collection.
I can't believe that THIS is the direction that you're headed in. Especially after having a year to work on it.
I really hope this isn't all there is to it.
@Mrfunkedude I'm sorry but your replies to this post are horrible. I agree that the app seems in an early stage, but they made it clear that it was the case. Giving feedback is great, but is it needed to be so aggressive ? You get this for free, and being respectfull (I'm not even saying kind, just minimum respect) seem to me like a minimum, and would actually give better results I am convinced.
I agree that being able to log in, selecting a custom instance is a must have though !

Indeed log in & selecting instances are a must, and are planned.
Log in is WIP.
On instances : unfortunately, Google's and Apple's selection methods are very strict, random, and other fediverse apps have suffered from it.
We have had to start the beta publishing with a very limited selection of instances, as we are a new developer in their eyes.
We plan to add those freedoms after being cleared, through updates (and, obviously, with the future F-droid publi)

The limited number of instances is because Google and Apple's store are very touchy about the content of new apps from new devs, and we want to get though the first publication process.

As with any other app, we flagged Fennec and Mull with KnownVuln until the app is updated. Contributors fixed the issues that delayed versions 130 and later. Stand by for the build.

Mull from the DivestOS repo seems to be fixed already. It seems to be due to F-Droid, because the delivery of the patched versions takes too long.
@mark22k Note that the DivestOS developer helps with both Fennec and Mull in F-Droid, but they built the app for their own repo with the missing binaries taken from Mozilla. At F-Droid we need to build those ourselves, and that took time to setup.
The UX is a bit weird. Recommends to uninstall Fennec immediately due to a vulnerability, but doesn't have a link to/explanation of the vulnerability as far as I can tell.

PeerTube is not just about Linux and FOSS any more, you can have a look at fedi.video to see all sorts of accounts that have uploaded.
If you're not a video creator but you follow someone on YouTube, you might want to politely suggest to them that they mirror their channel on PeerTube so that people can watch without having to use YouTube.

There are managed hosting services which do all the techy stuff for you (installation, upgrades, maintenance, fixing any problems etc), and these start from US$6.99 per month inclusive of everything (fedihost.co/pricing).
You can ask @fedihost about entry level PeerTube hosting, and @Cloud68 is also a good one.

A lot of YouTube channels no longer make much in direct monetisation, they often make more from Patreon and sponsorships.
Patreon and sponsorships are platform-neutral, so they can be done on any video platform including PeerTube (for example @thelinuxexperiment mentions sponsors at the start, @michellemay mentions Patreons at the end).

If someone's PeerTube started getting large numbers of views, they would be able to get a sponsor the same way they do on YouTube or any other video platform. And you can have sponsors on multiple platforms, in fact it's probably easier so you can upload the same file everywhere.
Also, patrons are available at any scale, I have patrons for my Fediverse accounts.

If you upload only for your own viewing, it seems reasonable to ask for payment? YouTube is only "free" is because it is spying on people and filling videos with advertising (and now it's allowing hate speech).

No law AFAIK, it's just them being greedy and thinking they can make more money by pleasing Trump.
They want government contracts, they want favourable laws in other areas etc, and they see that Trump responds to people who suck up to him, so this is what they do.
I hope the staff at YouTube/Google walk out over things like this, sounds like a horrible company to work for.

Yeah, it will vary a LOT depending on how long the videos are, how large the files are, how high quality they are.
Best way to find out is to ask the admin of the server you want to go to, or the hosting company if you want to set up your own.

-There is no Apple TV app, but you may be able to follow PeerTube channels through its Podcasts app (at least you can on the iPhone), more info at fedi.tips/how-to-subscribe-to-โฆ
-There is an iPhone app, but it is severely restricted by bizarre app store rules which don't really suit federated networks. I'd recommend using the website or podcast options as they're not restricted.

...so they seem to be now allowing people to be accused of mental illness if they are LGBTQIA+ etc.
Accusations of mental illness is how LGBTQIA+ groups have been persecuted, it's why it was illegal in so many countries for so long. Allowing this kind of language is opening the doors for awful and dangerous bigotry.

PeerTube is NOT blockchain, nothing on the Fediverse is blockchain!
PeerTube and the rest of the Fediverse are just ordinary traditional files on ordinary traditional servers. It is totally possible to delete them if you want to, just like any other file.
It is also possible to ask other servers to carry spare copies of your videos in case your server breaks down, but this is optional and up to the video creator.

On PeerTube videos, they are streamed from the original server even if they have federated elsewhere. The file sizes are so huge, it isn't practical to automatically copy entire videos to other servers the way that text posts are copied.
The only exception to this is if you've asked other servers to make backups of your video so that it can still be played if your server goes down. But this is up to you and totally optional.

It's a long story but basically don't use the app. The rules on app stores aren't suitable for federated networks and have made it very difficult for PeerTube to make an app store app that gets approved.
I'd highly recommend using a server's website and then installing it as a web app, this will give you full access to all the features and bypass the app store restrictions completely. Here's how to install web apps: fedi.tips/how-to-install-web-aโฆ
