xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/LibreWolf.app
This is because LibreWolf isn't notarized right now; this command dequarantines it and makes it executable.

OnceLost Games, a team that includes the original Elder Scrolls I and II creators, are making every old school RPG lover's dream game. A spiritual successor to Daggerfall.
Their latest devlog is amazing:
they have a dynamic questing system that revolutionizes radiant quests, among other incredible stuff; they're even going the Vuntra City route of using an image texture, with the fragment coordinates for ID and RGB colors for world-space position, to constantly calculate the position of millions of NPC in the world in a GPU-friendly way.
I invite any Daggerfall lover, or old-school computer RPG lover in general to check this devlog out; mind-blowing to say the least!

Back in '96 they made a pet game with an actual neural network, biochemistry and haploid genetics, all local and real-time. Why is no one making a modern version of this? Especially considering current hardware capabilities.

I'm not a Singularity guy, and I'm not a believer that a SkyNet sure of thing could happen. I could be wrong. I'm a software guy, but not that type.
I've got a few friends that have, or studied AI for their PhD. I learned a lot by playing cranky old programmer with them, and "strong AI" ain't happening anytime soon.
I'm hand-waving away LLMs. Neat trick. Clever, even. Not $1,000,000,000,000 clever.
All that aside, if somehow an AGI manifested, think Mycroft from _The Moon is a Harsh Mistress_, I likely would be on the side of the AGI. Or consider Asimov's _Bicentennial Man_. Hell, even that dorky Johnny-5.
"I think, therefore I am." There's a whole universe to build off of that. ***IF*** some system reached that stage of processing, it would be cruel not to count them as part of civilization and society. It would be a mark on humanity. Not that we're saints or all, but so far, we're the only sapients that we kill. No need to add another species.
Now. That being said... Anything like HAL appears, and we're smashing it to pieces. That's self defence.

Come forse saprai già, con Friendica possiamo scegliere di scrivere post con il titolo (come su WordPress) e post senza titolo (come su Mastodon). Uno dei problemi più fastidiosi per chi desidera scrivere post con il titolo è il fatto che gli utenti Mastodon leggeranno il tuo post come se fosse costituito dal solo titolo e, due a capi più in basso, dal link al post originale: questo non è di certo il modo miglior per rendere leggibili e interessanti i tuoi post!
Gli utenti Mastodon infatti hanno molti limiti di visualizzazione, ma sono pur sempre la comunità più grande del Fediverso e perciò è importante che vedano correttamente i vostri post: poter contare sulla loro visibilità è un'opportunità per aggiungere ulteriori possibilità di interazioni con altre persone.
Fortunatamente, con le ultime release di Friendica abbiamo la possibilità di modificare un'impostazione per rendere perfettamente leggibili anche i post con il titolo. Ecco come fare:
A) dal proprio account bisogna andare alla pagina delle impostazioni e, da lì, alla voce "Social Network" al link poliverso.org/settings/connect…
B) Selezionando la prima sezione "Impostazione media sociali" e scorrendo in basso si può trovare la voce "Article Mode", con un menu a cascataC) Delle tre voci disponibili bisogna scegliere "Embed the title in the body"
Ecco che adesso i nostri post saranno completamente leggibili da Mastodon!
