Ho sentito poco fa in televisione una ragazza ventenne affermare che essere antifascista oggi è una fatica, che comporta molta più vigilanza che in passato perché le nostre libertà, le nostre conquiste sono sempre più minacciate.
Mi è piaciuta, ovviamente, tantissimo. Poi ho pensato che, con ogni probabilità, anche lei stasera aprirà Instagram e scorrerà qualche video, o seguirà i suoi personaggi di riferimento su X.
Quando si inizia un percorso di terapia, il primo scoglio è vedere, riconoscere. Acquisire consapevolezza del problema. Me lo ricordo bene, mi ci sono voluti diversi anni.
Io stasera sento tante persone di buona volontà che dicono cose meravigliose sulla lotta, sul fatto che in tempi come questi bisogna essere pronti a muoversi dal divano, a rinunciare all'inerzia, a mettersi in una posizione scomoda. Verissimo.

Today Melissa Lewis over on BlueSky pointed out that the font used nin the infamous "You wouldn't steal a car" anti-piracy campaign was actually designed by Just van Rossum, whose brother, Guido, created the Python programming language (bsky.app/profile/melissa.news/post/3ln7hx5rhcj2v)
She also pointed out that the font had been cloned and released illegally for free under the name "XBAND Rough". Naturally, it would be hilarious if the anti-piracy campaign actually turned out to have used this pirated font, so I went sleuthing and quickly found a PDF from the campaign site with the font embedded (web.archive.org/web/20051223202935/http://www.piracyisacrime.com:80/press/pdfs/150605_8PP_brochure.pdf).
So I chucked it into FontForge and yep, turns out the campaign used a pirated font the entire time!

Desktop users want to be able to quickly cleanup their roster to see where they have tasks open. Between Dino 0.4 and 0.5 there has been a usability regression for this use case. With 0.4 is was on...bernhardreiter (GitHub)
Looking forward to Dino on macOS soooooo much. It would be needed very much. While Monal is coming along fine it still has some way to go so sadly there still is a macOS gap for XMPP.

Mi sovviene un dubbio atroce: nel tentativo (a vuoto) di cancellare il profilo loggandomi dietro VPN (freeopenvpn, Germania e USA), ho dovuto validare l'accesso con un codice ricevuto via email.
Nell'email che usavo con FB ho quindi trovato un'email datata ieri: "Bentornato/a su Facebook" - "L'account Facebook è stato riattivato".
Non è che la procedura va a buon fine nonostante il messaggio d'errore?
Per scoprirlo però devo evitare di fare altri tentativi per almeno 30 giorni, altrimenti rischio di riattivare tutto a ogni nuovo tentativo.
Ovviamente ho anche tentato la carta dello strumento di segnalazione errori di Facebook, molto ben fatto tecnicamente: per far cadere i tuoi ticket nel vuoto, ma con stile!

Scrivo cosa impediva la cancellazione da #facebook , nel caso possa tornare utile ad altri nella mia situazione.
Nel riepilogo prima del "pulsantone" finale, quello che andava in errore, mi sono saltate all'occhio delle "App" di cui risultavo unico amministratore. Il problema è che non ho mai sviluppato o usato app. Ho aperto la gestione di queste app, che riportavano il nome di alcune vecch(issime) pagine facebook. Le ho rimosse una ad una.
Una volta rimosse le "app" (qualsiasi cosa fossero), la procedura di eliminazione è andata a buon fine.
Adesso: 30 giorni di attesa e il mio account smetterà di esistere! 🍾

I've built GIMP-3 from source. It's nice. My #Linux distro will keep GIMP-2 and feature GIMP-3 as well. I'll comment that, for me, two features are missing from GIMP-3:
SVG support requires Rust now. Rust is a huge dependency to need to add just to get SVG. Additionally, Rust isn't available for some distros and/or architectures. So, for me, GIMP-3 will need to omit SVG. I think that some other distros will make the same decision.
The Create Logo command is gone as well.
Comment to @GIMP : It shouldn't be difficult for "file-svg.c" to support the 'C' version of librsvg. In fact, the code is already there in an "#else" block. It looks like relatively minor changes are needed. However, I haven't been able to make it work yet.
On the other hand, Resynthesizer and #GMIC both build and work. The base GIMP-3 filters plus those two add-ons are most of what I need.
Note to distro admins: To build Resynthesizer for GIMP-3 from source, you presently need to use the "resynthesizer3" git branch.
@gmic may be pleased to hear that GIMP 3.0.2 and GMIC 3.5.3 are confirmed to be simpatico. See the attached screenshot.
Note: The distro and desktop used here are my own 30-year-old project, Laclin. I'm as fond of it as the GIMP and GMIC teams are of their projects.
