@lollopistrollo la libertà è per definizione disorientante. E allo stesso tempo il disorientamento non è mai stato un valido messaggio promozionale della libertà.
C'è solo un modo per promuovere la libertà ed è quella cosa che serve sia a educare sia a far crescere: il GIOCO!
Il fediverso si presta incredibilmente al gioco, in un modo che forse non è mai stato valorizzato.
Pertanto bisogna giocarci, sfruttando tutte le bizzarre possibilità offerte da questo nuovo mondo

@picoz la risposta si fa laddove vuoi effettivamente rispondere. Il più delle volte è il 1o post ma non deve è necessariamente il 1o, perché Così hai la possibilità di rispondere a un commento in particolare.
Per quanto riguarda i messaggi multipli, una prassi consigliata quando i messaggi superano il numero di due o tre, è quello di Impostare i messaggi successivi con la visibilità unlisted o "non elencato" in modo da non far saturare da un solo utente tutta la Timeline pubblica

@antoneej non è così facile. X sarà pure una fogna, ma presenta vantaggi che né mastodon né alcun altro software del fediverso avrà mai. Ma vale lo stesso per Instagram, Facebook, Reddit.
Il fediverso non è un surrogato, non potrebbe riuscirci: non è il panino del Mac fatto dalla Coop con meno grassi o vegano, ma un modo diverso di mangiare.
O per usare una metafora politica, non è un cambio di regime, ma è uno strumento di decolonizzazione del WEB.

Ma bisogna ricordare che tra il 2022 e il 2024 si trattava di una "bugia verde", di quelle dette a fin di bene per bucare l'attenzione del pubblico.

@antoneej in certi casi si tratta semplicemente di comprendere che la conoscenza del Fediverso è ancora numericamente limitata.
Se il concetto di decolonizzazione è conosciuto forse da un 10% della popolazione, il fediverso lo è da non più dello 0,1% della popolazione. E quelle due porzioni di pubblico non sono neanche totalmente sovrapponibili.

Il problema è che sono i social commerciali ad essere un'alternativa adulterata del #fediverse.
@informapirata@mastodon.uno trova problematica le differenze, chr tengono lontani influencer e contenuti commerciali, anche per l'impossibilità di farsi pompare in visibilità (e dunque follower) da algoritmi che premiano contenuti allineati agli interessi politici ed economici della piattaforma.
Di conseguenza, chi cerca nel #fediverso una sorgente costante di dopamina da sostituire alla dopamina indotta dall'uso dei social mainstream, ma senza superare la dipendenza che questi inducono negli "utenti", non può che restare deluso.
Ma sono i social mainstream, piazze di spaccio travestire da centro commerciale, a surrogare le relazioni sociali che il #fediverse può mediare, non viceversa.

@costafrancesco94 c'è un problema serio con i "creator". Questi in fondo non sono altro che produttori di sé stessi, Ma come funziona questo sistema di autoproduzione all'interno dei social commerciali?
Il cosiddetto Creator fa un patto con una piattaforma e questo patto prevede un dare e un avere:
Ora questa possibilità semplicemente non è sostenibile nel Fediverso.
Infatti, se sei un "creatore di contenuti" hai certamente la possibilità di pubblicare cose sul tuo account mastodon, ma cosa succede se vuoi guadagnare da quei contenuti?
La piattaforma che ti ospita non è un night che ti paga in base al numero di avventori che hanno consumato al bar, ma una villetta privata in cui il proprietario non guadagna nulla a lasciare aperta la villetta a tutti e tu, artista, sei libero di entrare e uscire rispettando alcune semplici regole di convivenza e di educazione.
Ed educazione significa che non sei libero di fare promozione spinta dei tuoi contenuti. Educazione significa che quando vendi contenuti a pagamento in un posto che ti ospita gratuitamente e senza alcun secondo fine, hai l'obbligo morale di mantenere un certo equilibrio e non devi esagerare.
Faccio notare che quando alcuni creator come @kenobit o @maicolemirco hanno deciso di entrare nel Fediverso hanno creato un'istanza per sé e per altri "creatori di contenuti", mettendola poi a disposizione anche di altri creatori di contenuti. Ma quello che voglio dire è che loro hanno deciso di fare un investimento, come qualsiasi artista che si "autoproduce".O ancora, quando @dariodangelo (per chi non lo sapesse, è un giornalista che ha deciso di spingere molto sulla propria autoproduzione e sul sostegno finanziario dei suoi lettori) ha preso l'iniziativa di approcciarsi al Fediverso (pur sapendo che ciò non gli avrebbe procurato grandi ricchezze) ha deciso di investire in un proprio server Mastodon.
Ora, sinceramente, mi sembra chiaro che la barriera di ingresso etica che separa un creatore di contenuti dal Fediverso sia troppo alta per la maggior parte di essi.
Ecco perché non credo che i creatori di contenuti saranno il volàno di un eventuale successo del Fediverso. Il fediverso è focalizzato soprattutto sulle interazioni e si presta molto di meno alla fruizione passiva

Il #fediverse è il #web.
Più precisamente, è un'evoluzione diretta del web con cui si integra perfettamente. Basta pensare a come WordPress, che esiste dai tempi di XHTML 1.1 (ben prima di #Google #Chrome, lanciato nel 2008), sia uno degli innumerevoli software che ne fanno parte. O a #NodeBB che esiste dal 2013 ed è letteralmente un forum.
I social commerciali sono sempre stati un surrogato di tutto questo. Il selling point dei gruppi #Facebook era "fatti il tuo forum gratis senza sapere o installare niente" e continuano ad esserlo.
Purtroppo ora che hanno abbindolato miliardi di persone, molti giovani che non hanno mai visto il web possono credere che siano venuti prima.
Ma rimangono surrogati.

1. Nulla impedisce di creare motori di ricerca specializzati sul fediverse.
2. Mai usate, ma scommetterei un caffé che sia facilmente realizzabile con un bot che segue i membri della comunità e ne rilancia i contenuti con un certo tag.
3. Questa è una feauture. Se #mastodon non fosse insostenibilmente pesante, mastodon.social si sarebbe defederato anni fa. Speriamo anzi che nessun software del fediverse arrivi mai a poter "gestire una massa critica di utenti" , perché quel giorno diventerà l'ennesimo walled garden. Già l'uso di servizi centralizzati come masto.host per grandi istanze come mastodon.uno & friends è molto pericoloso in tal senso...
4. Anche questo non è impossibile, solo scomodo, via PGP. Nulla impedisce ai vari client non-web di implementarla. Ad esempio #Fedilab potrebbe integrare #OpenKeychain. Solo non colgo il vantaggio rispetto alla mail.
Dunque il 3 è l'unico veramente incompatibile con l'architettura federata, ma come dicevo è una feature.

il punto, almeno per me, è che il fediverso nasce per andare con i piccoli numeri, il che va benissimo per tanta gente (quorum ego) ma non è quello che molti vogliono. Non importa che nessuno se li fili: vogliono che almeno in linea teorica lo possano fare, perché non si sa mai cosa potrà capitare.

@costafrancesco94 ogni amministratore di istanza può decidere se staccare i contatti con un altro server (la famosa defederazione).
Per quanto riguarda invece la presenza di utenti tossici nei social commerciali, questo non dipende solo dall'esistenza di questi utenti (sì, purtroppo esistono e non sono pochi), ma dal fatto che alcuni meccanismi dei social commerciali (engagement) sono condizione ambientale favorevole che favorisce gli utenti tossici.

Ma infatti ribadisco la mia idea, un altro utente di mastodon ne aveva parlato giorni fa non ricordo più chi,
invitare un utenza già consapevole su tanti temi che dovrebbe sentirsi più a suo agio qui. Chi li vuole i creator o gli influencer? Ci sono giornalisti, persone, diciamo pubbliche, che leggevo con piacere su FB, che potrebbero postare anche qui. Sarebbe anche piu coerente con le loro idee, l'utente di cui sopra parlava di una sorta di invito. Gente che ha tanti follower ma che non sta sui social per monetizzare ma per discutere ed esprimere le proprie idee.

Ebbene sì, ho chiuso l'account #Mastodon e mi sono spostato qui.
Ho importato i contatti che seguivo, avvisato i follower (tanti mi hanno seguito di qui, se manca ancora qualcuno mi affido al "caso" che ci farà reincontrare tra i meandri dei questo magico Universo tra boost, amici di amici e così via).
Ho riguardato i post del 2025 e ho ricreato quello che mi interessava ricreare, ho rimesso da parte qualcuno tra i miei segnalibri.
Tutto sommato non sono mai stato attaccato al passato, conservo qualcosa e lascio andare il resto. La scorsa estate ho chiuso Gmail senza salvare una ventina d'anni di email (qualche amicizia se l'è un po' presa quando l'ha saputo... ma per me, se ci sei nel presente, ci sei, che altro serve?).
Comunque sono molto soddisfatto del mio nuovo setup.
Sono riuscito a conservare al 90% le mie abitudini perché normalmente interagirò ancora tramite il mitico #Phanpy, che funziona alla grande anche con #Friendica anche se usa solo una parte delle sue API. Per i post veloci di tutti i giorni, le ricondivisioni e le interazioni è perfetto, snello, ben fatto, e molto, molto elegante.
E per postare immagini è comodissimo (inserire immagini e alt-text nei post da Friendica è parecchio laborioso).
Ho notato, dopo un po', che aveva qualche problema con il login da più dispositivi sulla stessa rete (quando mi loggavo su un nuovo device, l'altro si disconnetteva). Ho risolto utilizzando ben 5 istanze di Phanpy diverse, una per dispositivo! Potenza del software libero e della decentralizzazione! 😁😁😁
(Ho riprovato a usare #Raccoon, ma purtroppo ha ancora troppi problemi, quelli noti mesi fa non sono mai stati risolti e per me è inutilizzabile. Peccato, sarebbe un progetto con tante potenzialità, speriamo che lo sviluppo venga ripreso.)
Ho anche ritoccato un po' l'esperienza utente su Friendica, che userò direttamente se voglio scrivere post formattati, come questo (per esempio abilitando il markdown che mi semplifica un po' la sintassi). È stata un'occasione per studiare un po' meglio alcune delle caratteristiche di questa piattaforma così potente. Anche qui ci sarebbe bisogno di qualche intervento deciso! A partire da un editor di post un po' più moderno e funzionale.
Che dire, in ogni caso ora è tutto meno dispersivo e non avrò bisogno di ricordarmi dove avevo salvato un segnalibro o da che parte avevo un contatto.

Good morning Fedi friends!I hope you're having a nice weekend.
I'd like to clear the air re: #WSocial and my opposition to it.
I got a lot of messages on my Mastodon account (several over private DM) trying to dissuade me from speaking up about it and urging me to work on improving the fediverse instead.
I hear you.
But I disagree.
I experienced the same thing last year, when I mentioned I had incendiary evidence about the lack of content moderation on Substack. I had many examples of posts and replies inciting racism, homophobia, fatphobia and xenophobia and spreading dangerous health misinformation. I had taken screenshots and reported them. When I checked back months later, none of my reports had been acted upon. I am talking about seriously heinous messages that are still on there. When I mentioned this on the fediverse, I got many responses urging me "not to waste my time" and "to stay positive" and to "focus instead on helping the fediverse." I did that. Meanwhile Substack is still incredibly popular and most people - even those using it - have no idea of the heinous speech that is allowed on it... and sometimes even monetized. I honestly regret not speaking up. It may not have made a difference, I know (I'm not a megalomaniac) but it makes my skin crawl to think some of the heinous comments are still on there and a young person could come across them and think they are ok. I should have spoken up.
Now, W Social where do I start? Sure, my criticism of it is from a completely different angle. All I want to do is write ONE blog post about its problematic aspects and then I will move on. What is so objectionable about it?
Years ago I wrote a blog post citing all the problems about Dove and its Real Beauty Campaign. It may not have been much, but it was over 10 years ago and the post is still getting hits today. You can see it for yourselves if you look up "The Problem with Dove" and "The Illusionists."
I'm very very lucky to have a little bit of influence on here - I'm immensely grateful for it - and even if I'm preaching to the choir as they say, maybe my advocacy can make a little bit of difference.
My hunch is: staying silent and wishing W Social away is not the way to go. They had a very rushed, botched announcement with no existing product or users. Major security flaws in their setup (I have plenty of evidence). I'd like to write something that you could reference and share... since so far no journalists did any research and simply rehashed the press release of W Social. That's irresponsible reporting – P.R. masked as journalism and it needs to be rectified. That's all I want to do: a blog post about "The Problems with W Social" that hopefully with a sprinkle of SEO magic people can easily find. What's so bad about it? 4 hours of my time and then I'll move on.

I just had the same idea to make a bot, using IFTTT and a WebHook by URLooker. But a WebHook only works with a payed IFTTT, which I don't have.

Your big challenge is going to be understanding and then explaining why Mastodon and other fediverse services are a much better way for Europe to free itself from American (and Chinese) platforms than the Eurosky project!
@midzer i usually do a small comparison on how different platforms work in normal use case vs. in extreme use case.
ppl "usually" understand how to use mastodon in a normal way (as if it's similar to twitter or whatever)
the extreme use case as being when bad things happen to a walled-garden platform. its users "may" realize they actually don't have the freedom to choose a different instance without losing communication to their connections (followers & following)
@Tony_Meredith I suppose one could say that values can make you join a new platform, but the fun is needed to keep one coming back?
I tend to sign up for all the new platforms (I'm a social media manager, so I want to stay on top of it all) but only the ones that really engage me keep me coming back.
Oh, an active community, that's important. Impressed with reactions here so far!
We need more press coverage of the fediverse and stuff like "share on fedi" next to "share on Facebook" and the like. It should be normalized for media and business to be on fedi as well.
So from your standpoint you could fight for public press releases of the EU to include links to official fedi accounts for example.

Maybe it would make sense to migrate to using the term "fediverse" as well. Away from the product Mastodon, because there are also other products available and competing with their commercial counterparts like Friendica (alternative to Facebook), Pixelfed (alternative to Instagram) and Loops (alternative to TikTok).
(Not to mention various smaller projects and forks or alternatives to Mastodon as well)

How was/is your onbording experience?
A lot tech savvy people I know, simply say it is still too complicated and either don’t sign up, or when signed up struggle to find content and let their accounts go stale.
It took some work but with hashtags and starter packs I found all I need. Some people are even missing algorithms even though mobile clients mimic them 🤷♂️

I'm here because we need more people who understand Mastodon / the Fediverse. I know noting, but I'm keen to learn.
And quite frankly, we owe it to Europeans to promote European tech solutions.
I’m glad you’re having such a good start!
My point is that others struggle with the concepts/software for whatever reason.
There are dedicated pages for onboarding, but I feel a broad coherent campaign with sane defaults would be a greater pull factor.
@dalcacer Mastodon is a higher barrier for me to clear currently, I need to either write a client myself or start using something that is light and either runs outside of a web browser or is compatible with more than just a few browsers. Sadly, Mastodon upstream not only requires JS, it's also using features that greatly restrict the amount of browsers one can use.
(Now a good thing here are the open specifications, meaning that like IRC, USENET and e-mail, one's not tied to some client, my usual example of this is pointing Microsoft Comic Chat, I think that client illustrates the idea of a significantly different interface built on top of an open protocol. I do like this aspect, but it might be less relevant to attract more users globally;... but it should be quite relevant and important for elected officials and EU institutions, of course, just like you'd not publish official documents only in proprietary formats.)
The thing is: the content makes it worth it. So even if it's currently more difficult, I try to have a look at Mastodon, in spite of that.
In another account I follow a bunch of hashtags and I end up having a lot of interesting content (sadly, sometimes overwhelming, I'm eagerly waiting for the ability to put hashtags in lists).
Personally, I talk about the Fediverse and why it is important a lot and there are many opportunities, even when just doing small talk. Most people are not happy with being manipulated by big tech, ad-driven social media. For many, I'm the first person to even tell them about the Fediverse. Of course, the vast majority won't join right away, but every impulse helps. I like focusing on positive aspects and advantages, and try to reach the person where they're at right now. And depending on the circumstances it might not be more than namedropping, but I still think it's very important to do. And I do look out for other opportunities to promote it.

I'm enjoying Mastodon so far because it reminds me of a different time on social media.
There was a time I was to taken with social media, I loved it enough to make it my whole career. It's been 10 years since I started working with social media, and I've seen a lot of... change, much of it for the worse. Still believe that social media can be harnessed for good though.
Two attractive things IMO:
"channels" of practical information. My city has Fediverse announcements of power and water outages (planned or emergencies), wastewater disease tracking, other stuff it's just handy to see. More time-sensitive than a webpage, less time-sensitive than emergencies or transit outages (I get those over SMS).
Ideally useful info, not just press releases; and really ideally someplace a citizen can report trouble

"social" is less obviously something for a government to Do, but I bet a government could help translate popular client software into all the national languages, or sponsor "how to host a small instance" the same way there are community classes in gardening or any adult pursuit.
One of my hobbyhorses is that "hosting" is TWO important jobs, the computer side and the human side -- in English it's the same kind of "host" that might run a regular salon, or a friendly bar, etc.

You welcome new people, you have a sense of both the agreed beliefs and the issues that are going to be touchy for your group, you do ongoing organization so people can find the good stuff...
and sometimes you have to throw somebody out though in a good system that's RARE and it always involves some people feeling it was too early and some people feeling it wasn't early enough.

1. There ARE plenty of active Europeans on here, in all EU languages, you can really turn it into a nice little anglo-free oasis with the right filters and still have plenty of content.
2. We're not all techies. I still don't know wtf is a Linux, it's fine. If you just want to shitpost and share cat pictures or share stitching patterns or soup recipes, you'll find your people by following hashtags.

However, you can only use custom emoji yourself that are on your own instance.
If you can't see custom emoji from another instance, it's probably a temporary glitch.

That's a fair question, and I'm not sure of the answer.
On the one hand, it's a bit technical for me: I know that sometimes, I can't see custom emojis from other instances, but sometimes I can; and I don't know why!
otoh, they're a bit 'fun,' so are they necessary for a 'serious' instance? (If yes, maybe as a lower priority!?)

Yes, having custom emojis for your server/community is very important. The admins of @mastodonie - an Irish instance - added icons for a pint of stout, Tayto crisps (the national potato chip), Brennan's bread (an indispensable loaf), and (most important of all) a mug of tea. 🙂

The monthly digital independence day is currently a DACH thing. But it can become european!
@Bastianoso There are quite a lot of places and protocols on the internet that can lead to cool places happening.
I guess in the end it's not so much about Mastodon or the fediverse being good, but just about getting elected officials, institutions and companies to start using it. They shouldn't need to replace what they're already using, they can just complement it (although if they're using TSNFKAT, one might come up with questions regarding the kind of content provided by their bot as a service, and in that case, leaving one of the previously used services could be quite positive...).
Somebody could even come up with something not-quite-mastodon for such use cases, and it could still be integrated in the fediverse and allow a lot of interactions, I guess it doesn't even need to be Mastodon for they to get connected.
And that visibility is probably key to wider adoption. It doesn't help that there are elected officials or public entities which choose to only use commercial, proprietary services to interact with users/voters/..., but adopting something on the fediverse will also add to the visibility of the fediverse, besides increasing their own reachability.
We're even in an age where having a readable web page with a news section or a contact e-mail address is getting less common.

It does depend on your instance, your admin will choose a translation system if they have one, usually LibreTranslate or DeepL.
Some instances may not have translation at all because the admin doesn't have the resources to pay for it. If you ask your admin to add translation, it might be a good idea to also offer a donation at the same time.
Just to be clear, the translation services on here are not "AI" in the sense of ChatGPT etc. They aren't large language models.
LibreTranslate and DeepL use a different technology and were founded years before ChatGPT etc.
The term "AI" has been used a bit too freely by the media to the point where people assume it means awful unreliable stuff like ChatGPT and other LLMs.

@FediTips @alex_p_roe My usual view of this is to think of the different topics covered in e.g. Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach, or in university courses labelled "AI".
Even LLMs can be good tools, if properly trained and used. But no, what we get from the same marketing trends that call it "AI" is using it as a generic global solution for everythingTM, which I'd argue is using it wrong.
When I'm trying to refer to it unambiguously, I also tend to use "Generative AI", or perhaps the shorter "GenAI".
(There's also "Generative Autocomplete", and I tend to also think of "GIGO". And now it seems Satya Nadella of Microsoft is boosting the use of "slop".)

If I'd follow you, I'd get all your posts in my feed.
Unlike other platforms, no algorithm filters for "relevance".
So, if I can't handle 30 toots per day from just one person, I can't follow you, in which case I get 0.
In other words, too many toots will decrease your visibility. A paradox probably unique to the Fediverse.
Hashtags can solve the issue. People can follow the tag, and you decide the subset of toots they will see.

That's a good question. Frankly speaking, I'm not sure. The fedi tips make a statement on "hashtag followers" but not on "followers".
I get a lot of feeds where people I follow answer somebody else. But I'm not sure about their settings.
It might not solve the issue, but "quiet public" is good practice, anyway.

I think a program that would provide funding to support some types of organizations setting up their own fedi instances could be a good idea for getting more of them on board. That could get all sorts of local information streams people naturally want to subscribe to over here.
Also, looking at for example the Forkiverse you see how effective that can be in getting people to at least try fedi when there's a natural community around something.

Yes! There is so much low-hanging fruit here. Take newsrooms, for example. They don't necessarily need anything as resource-heavy as a Mastodon server. Most of them already publish RSS, showing them how to use existing tools to also publish an AP feed would make much more quality content followable.

Stage 2 could be showing them tools for collecting and browsing any replies to posts published by their RSS>AP bot. Tools that allow them to selectively publish comments, a la the newspaper convention of 'letters to the editor'.
Stage 3 could be a consortium of newsrooms sharing a server to create official accounts for their staff, using their employer's domain name. Using Takahē, or other AP software where a single server can host accounts under more than one domain.
@ammdias Since most of the "paid influencing"-business is so closely tied to advertising, I think the road to "promoted content" in Fediverse is very long and complicated.
As you point out, we already have plenty of "content creator"-influencers, even people who make money out of it (selling their own services) but I don't think the advertising ecosystem can ever exist in fediverse the same way it does in VC-driven social media. And that puts some constraints on fedi audience.

Non vedo l’ora di partire con Fortuitus, laboratorio per il recupero di canzoni popolari antiche, molto antiche, vorrei risalire almeno fino al Rinascimento.
Avendo fretta, ho posto la prima data di ritrovo molto vicina, il 30 gennaio, ma non dispero, come spiego nella pagina dedicata, la frequenza è liberissima, è un’attività che deve apportare piacere e non stress.
Quindi per sette incontri, da fine gennaio a fine maggio, proporrò studio ed esecuzione (senza partiture!) di canzoni, che sto recuperando con un personale studio, che probabilmente erano cantate non da professionisti dello spettacolo ma dalle persone in contesti quotidiani.
Non si fa polifonia, se non improvvisata.
Per cui, se hai voglia di sentire come suonava questa musica, e cantarla, vieni e sperimentati. Non ci sono limiti, non ci sono impedimenti – la sala è a Villa Monga, Verona, quartiere Pindemonte. Orari serali.

They’re trying to sell us the solution for an existential problem that they have created themselves around an emergency that doesn’t exist.
At this point any Trojan horse that can get EU citizens to swallow online identity verification can work. And if they can edulcolorate with a “but it’s a European sovereign social network!” (even if the ID verification mechanisms still rely on Google’s and Apple’s operating systems) then why not give it a try? 😄

No, we want European infrastructure to be controlled by ordinary Europeans, not multinational corporations.
VC startups are only set up to be sold out to the highest bidder, which is usually outside Europe. VCs don't care what happens to their startup, they just want to sell out and get the money.
Other problems with W are:
-They're using fascist phrases and clothing
-They're erasing Mastodon from history
-They're centralised with all the problems that brings (list of them at fedi.tips/why-is-the-fediverse… ).

The purpose of connecting people isn't to make money, it's to provide vital infrastructure.
VCs are the wrong vehicle for vital infrastructure.
Look at the sheer scale of electoral interference through Meta and Twitter/X. Musk especially is using Twitter/X to promote fascists.

The incentives for VCs are all wrong on social media and internet services, the ownership structure inevitably leads to "enshittification" as @pluralistic has documented in great detail.
They provide a wonderful service to hook people in, then once people are locked in they degrade the service to the point where it's much worse and more expensive than the original alternatives.
We don't need VCs to be controlling things, they misuse that control.

The telephone network is decentralised, as is the email network and the postal network. When it existed, the telegraph networks were also decentralised. You don't need one corporation controlling everything for global networks to connect together.
Even Facebook and Google used to use a decentralised messaging standard called XMPP, but they decided to abandon this for commercial reasons. Goverments could have easily forced them to continue.

@ed non sono un amante di di Pixelfed, anzi... 😅 però riconosco che l'esperienza d'uso è migliorata tantissimo, il sistema si è evoluto abbastanza e la creazione dell'app è stata determinante per il suo successo.
Il tool di moderazione poi, anche se non è pratico come quello di mastodon, è stato progettato bene ed è Addirittura è stato pensato per essere virtualmente portabile anche su altre piattaforme del Fediverso.

But I don't think it's good news at all. The motherfuckers have made it absolutely clear that they will murder anyone they care to murder, and that there is no legal ramifications for the murderers. Our leaders will spew preposterous lies to "justify" executions the way they used to spew preposterous lies about huge crowds at Presidential inaugurations.
The bad news, to me, is not seeing the obvious - that our government sees US citizens no differently than they see non-citizens. There's only power, and the people who have it, and everyone else.
The bad news is that it's 100% on us, the US citizens, to stop it.
Until now, we could pretend that Congress would stop these assholes. That maybe the other, nominally less evil, political party would stop them. That maybe the negative press would stop them. That maybe the sarcastic comedians or low public opinions would stop them. That maybe the courts would stop these assholes. That Superman or Jesus would appear to stop these assholes.
But that's all bullshit - we must stop them, or they will not be stopped. I hope those other folks help, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
I have no idea how to stop them, but I know we have to figure it out, then get it done.
