The internet has already taught us that an electric surfboard is a great way to get around on the water while looking like an absolute badass. [RCLifeOn] is continuing to push the boat forward in this regard, however, adding thrust vectoring technology to his already-impressive build.
If you’re unfamiliar with the world of electric surfboards, the concept is relatively simple. Stick one or more electric ducted fan thrusters on the back, add some speed controllers, and power everything from a chunky bank of lithium-ion batteries. Throw in a wireless hand controller, and you’ve got one heck of a personal watercraft.
Traditionally, these craft are steered simply by leaning and twisting as a surfer would with a traditional board. However, more dynamic control is possible if you add a way to aim the thrust coming from the propulsion system. [RCLifeOn] achieved this by adding steerable nozzles behind the ducted fan thrusters, controlled with big hobby servos to handle the forces involved. The result is a more controllable electric surfboard that can seriously carve through the turns. Plus, it’s now effectively an RC boat all on its own, as it no longer needs a rider on board to steer.

AI-Generated Biography on Amazon Tries to Capitalize on the Death of a Beloved Writer Kaleb Horton
On September 27, several writers published obituaries about writer and photographer Kaleb Horton, who recently died. The obituaries were written by friends, acquaintances, and colleagues, but all of them revered him as a writer and photographer, whose work has appeared in GQ, Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, and VICE.
Some of these obituary writers were shocked and disgusted to discover an AI-generated “biography” of Kaleb Horton was suddenly for sale on Amazon.
“I cannot overstate how disgusting I find this kind of ‘A.I.’ dog shit in the first place, never mind under these circumstances,” writer Luke O’Neil, who wrote an obituary for Horton, told me in an email. “This predatory slop is understandably upsetting to his family and friends and fans and an affront to his specific life and to life itself. Especially days after his death. All week people have been eulogizing Kaleb as one of the best, although sadly not widely read enough, writers of his generation, and some piece of shit pressed a button and took 30 seconds or whatever it is to set up a tollbooth to divert the many people just learning about him away from his real and vital work. And for what? To make maybe a few dollars? By tricking people? I can't say what I think should happen to thieves like this.”
The book, titled KALEB HORTON: A BIOGRAPHY OF WORDS AND IMAGES: The Life Of A Writer And Photographer From The American West, was published on September 27 as well, is 74 pages long, and has all the familiar signs of the kind of AI-generated books that flood Amazon’s store on a daily basis.
Even at just 74 pages, the book was produced at superhuman speed. That appears to be the normal cadence for the author, Jack C. Cambron, who has no online footprint outside of online bookstores, and who has written dozens of biographies and cookbooks since his career as an author appeared out of thin air earlier in September. He has written biographies about director Cameron Crowe, Fulton County, Georgia district attorney Fani Willis, and pop singer Madison Beer, to name just a few. There’s no consistent pattern to these biographies other than a lot of the people they’re about have been in the news recently.
All these books also have obviously AI-generated covers, which is the most obvious and one of the most insulting signs that Horton’s biography is AI-generated as well: The person on the cover looks nothing like him.
AI-generated books on Amazon are extremely common and often attempt to monetize whatever is happening in the news or that people are searching for at any given time. For example, last year we wrote about a flood of AI-generated books about the journalist Kara Swisher appearing on Amazon leading up to the release of her memoir Burn Book. In theory, someone who might be interested in the book or Swisher might search for her name on Amazon and buy one of those AI-generated books without realizing it’s AI-generated. We’ve seen this same strategy flood public libraries with AI-generated books as well.
Amazon did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The company has said that it does not want these books in its store in response to our story about the AI-generated Kara Swisher books last year, but obviously is not taking any meaningful action to stop them.
“We aim to provide the best possible shopping, reading, and publishing experience for customers and authors and have content guidelines governing which books may be listed for sale," Amazon spokesperson Ashley Vanicek told me in an email last year. "We do not allow AI-generated content that creates a poor customer experience. We have proactive and reactive measures to evaluate content in our store. We have removed a number of titles that violated our guidelines.”

Video after video shows Pikachu and South Park’s Cartman doing ASMR; a pixel-perfect scene from the Simpsons that doesn’t actually exist; a fake version of Star Wars, Jurassic Park, or La La Land; Rick and Morty in Minecraft; Rick and Morty in Breath of the Wild; Rick and Morty talking about Sora; Toad from the Mario universe deadlifting; Michael Jackson dancing in a room that seems vaguely Russian; Charizard signing the Declaration of Independence, and Mario and Goku shaking hands. Sora 2 is the new video generation app/TikTok clone from OpenAI. As AI video generators go, it is immediately impressive in that it is slightly better than the video generators that came before it, just as every AI generator has been slightly better than the one that preceded it. From the get go, the app lets you insert yourself into its AI creations by saying three numbers and filming a short video of yourself looking at the camera, looking left, looking right, looking up, and looking down. It is, as Garbage Day just described it, a “slightly better looking AI slop feed,” which I think is basically correct. Whenever a new tool like this launches, the thing that journalists and users do is probe the guardrails, which is how you get viral images of SpongeBob doing 9/11.

The difference with Sora 2, I think, is that OpenAI, like X’s Grok, has completely given up any pretense that this is anything other than a machine that is trained on other people’s work that it did not pay for, and that can easily recreate that work. I recall a time when Nintendo and the Pokémon Company sued a broke fan for throwing an “unofficial Pokémon” party with free entry at a bar in Seattle, then demanded that fan pay them $5,400 for the poster he used to advertise it. This was the poster: With the release of Sora 2 it is maddening to remember all of the completely insane copyright lawsuits I’ve written about over the years—some successful, some thrown out, some settled—in which powerful companies like Nintendo, Disney, and Viacom sued powerless people who were often their own fans for minor infractions or use of copyrighted characters that would almost certainly be fair use.

No real consequences of any sort have thus far come for OpenAI, and the company now seems completely disinterested in pretending that it did not train its tools on endless reams of copyrighted material. It is also, of course, tacitly encouraging people to pollute both its app and the broader internet with slop. Nintendo and Disney do not really seem to care that it is now easier than ever to make Elsa and Pikachu have sex or whatever, and that much of our social media ecosystem is now filled with things of that nature. Instagram, YouTube, and to a slightly lesser extent TikTok are already filled with AI slop of anything you could possibly imagine.And now OpenAI has cut out the extra step that required people to download and reupload their videos to social media and has launched its own slop feed, which is, at least for me, only slightly different than what I see daily on my Instagram feed. The main immediate use of Sora so far appears to be to allow people to generate brainrot of major beloved copyrighted characters, to say nothing of the millions of articles, blogs, books, images, videos, photos, and pieces of art that OpenAI has scraped from people far less powerful than, say, Nintendo. As a reward for this wide scale theft, OpenAI gets a $500 billion valuation. And we get a tool that makes it even easier to flood the internet with slightly better looking bullshit at the low, low cost of nearly all of the intellectual property ever created by our species, the general concept of the nature of truth, the devaluation of art through an endless flooding of the zone, and the knock-on environmental, energy, and negative labor costs of this entire endeavor.

Theoretically USB-C is a pretty nifty connector, but the reality is that it mostly provides many exciting new ways to make your device not work as expected. With the gory details covered by [Alvaro], the latest to join the party is Segger, with its J-Link BASE Compact MCU debugger displaying the same behavior which we saw back when the Raspberry Pi 4 was released in 2019. Back then so-called e-marked USB-C cables failed to power the SBC, much like how this particular J-Link unit refuses to power up when connected using one of those special USB-C cables.
We covered the issue in great detail back then, discussing how the CC1 and CC1 connections need to be wired up correctly with appropriate resistors in order for the USB-C supply – like a host PC – to provide power to the device. As [Alvaro] discovered through some investigation, this unit made basically the same mistake as the RPi 4B SBC before the corrected design. This involves wiring CC1 and CC2 together and as a result seeing the same <1 kOhm resistance on the active CC line, meaning that to the host device you just hooked up a USB-C audio dongle, which obviously shouldn’t be supplied with power.
Although it’s not easy to tell when this particular J-Link device was produced, the PCB notes its revision as v12.1, so presumably it’s not the first rodeo for this general design, and the product page already shows a different label than for the device that [Alvaro] has. It’s possible that it originally was sloppily converted from a previous micro-USB-powered design where CC lines do not exist and things Just Work, but it’s still a pretty major oversight from what should be a reputable brand selling a device that costs €400 + VAT, rather than a reputable brand selling a <$100 SBC.

People Are Farming and Selling Sora 2 Invite Codes on eBay
People are farming and selling invite codes for Sora 2 on eBay, which is currently the fastest and most reliable way to get onto OpenAI’s new video generation and TikTok-clone-but-make-it-AI-slop app. Because of the way Sora is set up, it is possible to buy one code, register an account, then get more codes with the new account and repeat the process.
On eBay, there are about 20 active listings for Sora 2 invite codes and 30 completed listings in which invite codes have sold. I bought a code from a seller for $12, and received a working code a few minutes later. The moment I activated my account, I was given four new codes for Sora 2. When I went into the histories of some of the sellers, many of them had sold a handful of codes previously, suggesting they were able to get their hands on more than four invites. It’s possible to do this just by cycling through accounts; each invite code is good for four invites, so it is possible to use one invite code for a new account for yourself, sell three of them, and repeat the process.
There are also dozens of people claiming to be selling or giving away codes on Reddit and X; some are asking for money via Cash App or Venmo, while others are asking for crypto. One guy has even created a website in which he has generated all 2.1 billion six-digit hexadecimal combinations to allow people to randomly guess / brute force the app (the site is a joke).
The fact that the invite codes are being sold across the internet is an indication that OpenAI has been able to capture some initial hype with the release of the app (which we’ll have much more to say about soon), but does not necessarily mean that it’s going to be some huge success or have sustained attention. Code and app invite sales are very common on eBay, even for apps and concert tickets (or game consoles, or other items) that eventually aren’t very popular or are mostly just a flash in the pan. But much of my timeline today is talking about Sora 2, which suggests that we may be crossing some sort of AI slop creation rubicon.

Kodak Is Selling Its Own Film Again for the First Time in a Decade
Kodak announced two new stocks of color film on Wednesday, in a move that has excited the photography world and which indicates that the photography giant is directly distributing still photography film again.
“To help meet the growing demand for film, Kodak is excited to announce the launch of two color-negative films, KODACOLOR 100 and KODACOLOR 200, in 135 format rolls,” Kodak said in an Instagram post. “For the first time in over a decade, Kodak will sell these films directly to distributors, in an effort to increase supply and help create greater stability in a market where prices have fluctuated. These films are sub-brands of existing Kodak films and offer the same high quality you’ve come to expect from Kodak.”
That quote is key—there are various types of Kodak film on the market right now. Those films are all made by Eastman Kodak (the legendary 133-year-old photography company) but they are sold through a totally separate company called Kodak Alaris, which is a UK-based company spun off from Eastman Kodak in 2012 as part of its bankruptcy. Since then, Kodak Alaris has had the sole right to distribute the still film stocks that Eastman Kodak manufactures. The sense in the photography community is that this arrangement is, at best, annoying and that it has perhaps led Kodak to not focus as much on making new film stocks as it should; there was further concern last year after Kodak Alaris was sold to a private equity firm.
What remains unclear is what KODACOLOR actually is; in the photography world, many “new” films are rebranded versions of other films that are on the market, are rereleased versions of film that had been previously discontinued, or are respooled versions of movie film that have been altered for still photography.
The Wednesday announcement of KODACOLOR makes clear that Eastman Kodak will be selling KODACOLOR directly to photography stores itself, which suggests that the company has wrested at least some control over the distribution of its films from Kodak Alaris, and raises all sorts of exciting possibilities about the future of Kodak film. The details of how or why it did this are not yet available and Kodak did not immediately respond to a request for comment. But it is notable that while Kodak manufactures about a dozen different types of film including Kodak Gold, Ektar, Portra, and Colorplus, the only “still film” listed on the Kodak website is now the new KODACOLOR film stocks.
Regardless of the reasoning or specifics behind the news, the announcement of new film stocks from the most important film company in the world is the latest sign of the enduring and resurgent popularity of analog film photography. And it at least shows that Kodak is interested in creating new types of film for the hobby; as Petapixel points out, it is Kodak’s “first new film in a very long time.” In recent years, there has been a handful of new film stocks announced and released, most notably a type of film called Phoenix from a company called Harman, which is made in a new factory in England and, according to the company, has been “hugely successful.”

404 Media and Freedom of the Press Foundation Sue DHS
Last week Freedom of the Press Foundation and 404 Media filed a lawsuit against the multiple parts of the U.S. government demanding they hand over a copy of an agreement that shares the personal data of nearly 80 million Medicaid patients with ICE. The data sharing marked a watershed moment for ICE and its access to highly sensitive data that is ordinarily siloed off from the agency. We believe it’s important for the public to see this unprecedented data sharing agreement for themselves.
As the Associated Press wrote when it first reported on the data sharing agreement between the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the agreement will give ICE the ability to find “the location of aliens.” The data shared includes home addresses and ethnicities, according to the Associated Press.

Both Freedom of the Press Foundation and 404 Media filed similar Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests with DHS and CMS seeking a copy of the agreement. Neither agency provided the requested records in time, so we have now filed the lawsuit. In 404 Media’s case, CMS acknowledged the request but has not provided the records, and DHS did not even acknowledge the request at all.
404 Media’s request asked for a copy of the specific agreement, and if the agencies were unable to locate it, to alternatively provide copies of all agreements between DHS and CMS from this year.
“Despite having received the FOIA requests, and despite their obligations under the law, Defendants have failed to notify Plaintiffs of the scope of documents that they will produce or the scope of documents that they plan to withhold in response to the FOIA requests,” the lawsuit reads. playlist.megaphone.fm?p=TBIEA2… Freedom of the Press Foundation is a non-profit organization that monitors press freedom issues in the U.S. and trains journalists on how to keep themselves and their sources safe. It regularly sues the U.S. government for access to records.
The data sharing agreement is just one of a growing list of ways that ICE is sourcing highly sensitive, and sometimes legally protected, information as part of the Trump administration’s mass deportation effort. ProPublica reported on the vast system the IRS is building to share millions of taxpayers’ data with ICE 404 Media previously reported ICE has gained access to ISO Claimsearch, a massive insurance and medical bill database to find deportation targets. The database is nearly all encompassing and contains details on more than 1.8 billion insurance claims and 58 million medical bills.
Separately, 404 Media filed a lawsuit against ICE in September for access to the agency’s $2 million spyware contract.

Va bene tutto ma ho un problema con il "no" al riarmo.
Non discutiamo sul fatto che la pace sia meglio della guerra, che sentirsi fratelli sia meglio che sentirsi nemici, che spendere soldi per fare ospedali e scuole sia meglio che spenderli per fare bombe, ecc. ecc. perché siamo tutti d'accordo e perderemmo solo tempo.
Credo che la marcia e tante altre iniziative simili siano importanti per spingere le persone a riflettere sul fatto che un altro mondo è possibile e che a noi tutti spetta il compito di essere il motore per questo cambiamento verso un mondo migliore.
Ma quando si dice "no al riarmo" si fa un salto qualitativo, si passa dall'indicare dei principi generali ampiamente condivisibili a prendere una posizione politica da agire immediatamente, nella realtà presente, nel qui e ora.
E la domanda che mi pongo io è se sia giusto non armarsi, se sia giusto prendere oggi la decisione di rinunciare ad avere una difesa armata.
Cosa succederebbe se una metà dei governi mondiali smettesse di spendere soldi per armarsi e li spendesse in ospedali e scuole, e l'altra metà invece no? Vivremmo in un mondo con più pace o con più guerre?
La lunghissima pace che c'è stata in Europa negli ultimi 70 anni la dobbiamo ad una svolta pacifista che c'è stata dopo al fine della seconda guerra mondiale o la dobbiamo al fatto che gli arsenali sono stati riempiti di armi al punto tale che nessuno ha avuto il coraggio di sparare per primo?
Se i palestinesi avessero avuto un esercito forte come quello di Israele, Gaza oggi sarebbe distrutta?

Quello che voglio dire è che da un lato capisco che il disarmo sia LA soluzione ma che dall'altro sono altrettanto convinto che un disarmo unilaterale non possa che essere foriero di tragedie.
Di contro continuare ad armarsi non porta alcun beneficio. Se gli eserciti ai equivalgono non c'è nessun vantaggio, per cui una delle due parti mirerà ad essere sempre in vantaggio rispetto all'altra in una spirale di distruzione. Perché il pareggio non è previsto.

Da tempo sto provando a ridurre le spese e cerco qualcuno con cui condividere uno spazio che ho affittatto come studio musicale.

Mi contatta Enrico, dicendomi che sono in 5, che hanno una cover band di sigle di anime e musiche dei videogiochi. It’s not every day a student newspaper takes on the federal government. But that’s exactly what The Stanford Daily is doing.
Backed by the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, the Daily sued Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem in August over the Trump administration’s push to deport foreign students for exercising free speech, like writing op-eds and attending protests. The suit argues the administration’s actions violate the First Amendment by retaliating against foreign students for protected speech and chill press freedom by discouraging them from speaking to and writing for the Daily.
We spoke at the start of Stanford University’s fall term with Greta Reich, editor-in-chief of the Daily and president of Stanford Daily Publishing Corp., which operates the paper, about why the Daily is fighting back, even as many corporate media outlets stay silent or capitulate.
Why did The Stanford Daily decide to take this issue to court?
We decided to take this issue to court because we believe legal action would be best for the Daily. Our mission as an independent student paper is to represent the voices of the Stanford community. We cannot fulfill this mission to the fullest extent when a significant portion of students on our campus and in our newsroom are afraid to speak up. The decision ultimately came down to whether or not we felt we could handle the potential negative ramifications of a public suit against the government in order to stay true to our mission. We decided that we could, and we’re hoping for the best outcome.
What happens to your reporting when international students are afraid to talk to your reporters, or when staff quit or avoid covering certain stories because they’re worried about government retaliation?
As we said in our letter from the editors on the lawsuit, fear of government retaliation directly impacts the quality of the Daily’s work.
With every resignation, declined assignment, and refusal to speak on the record, we actively miss out on covering an entire group of students’ voices — as well as the many events and stories on campus that benefit from an international student’s perspective. We are simply not able to conduct our business when speech is chilled like this.
Journalism, and especially student journalism, depends on members of a community not only being able to speak on the record but actively wanting to, at least at times. When an entire subsection of the student population doesn’t feel comfortable speaking with or writing for the Daily, we can’t know what stories are being lost.

How have people on campus responded to the lawsuit so far?
We only returned to campus this week, so I don’t think I’ve seen every reaction yet, but so far the biggest response has been curiosity. Many of my peers, both in and outside of the Daily, have questions about how the lawsuit is going.
In speaking more in depth with some students throughout the summer and hearing feedback on various social platforms, I know there is a somewhat mixed reaction, though I think it skews positive. Some students, understandably, are concerned about the attention the suit will draw to Stanford as a university. Others have expressed excitement about action being taken to protect First Amendment rights.
I hope that as the suit progresses, students, alumni, faculty, and community members will feel comfortable sharing any opinion with us — we want to hear what people have to say!
How does it feel to stand up for the First Amendment as student journalists when some in corporate media are utterly failing to do so?
It feels great! As student journalists, we definitely face a different set of obstacles and constraints than those in corporate media do. I think that, in a way, these different constraints give us the freedom to take actions like these (though it would be exciting to see more publications taking action too). I am incredibly grateful for all of the support I’ve received from professional journalists and mentors in corporate media, who have reached out with kind words for the Daily. It is not taken for granted one bit.
What outcome are you hoping for, both in terms of the law, but also inspiring student journalists or impacting the national conversation about press freedom?
In terms of the law, we are obviously hoping for the lawsuit to create a real change in how noncitizens are treated with respect to the First Amendment. Whether working for or speaking to our newspaper, no one should fear deportation for what they have to say. In any scenario, I hope those who hear about this lawsuit consider what it means to have a free press and why fear tactics like those the government is currently using have such an impact on it. A central tenet of my education at Stanford has been to form and express my thoughts and opinions with agility. The ability to state these thoughts and opinions publicly is not only being threatened but actively taken away.
And to other student journalists: I am constantly inspired by you and your work, and I hope you are getting through this year with support and engagement from your staff and readers.

Oltre 170mila persone hanno sostenuto le nostre richieste alla politica per rimuovere le discriminazioni su fine vita, PMA, aborto e psichedelici. Sono 39 le azioni legali intraprese, 241 le richieste di accesso agli atti. Il Congresso sarà anche l’occasione per fare il punto sui nuovi obiettivi e le azioni politiche del 2026. Filomena Gallo e Marco Cappato commentano: “Non stiamo ad aspettare che vengano tempi migliori per i diritti civili, altrimenti si rischia di tornare indietro come negli USA“.
Nonostante l’ostilità o l’inerzia dei vertici della politica ufficiale e dei partiti, il 2025 è stato un anno di conquiste e azioni concrete per la libertà di scelta, l’autodeterminazione e il diritto alla salute. Dall’approvazione di due leggi regionali per tempi certi di erogazione delle prestazioni sul “suicidio assistito” in Toscana e Sardegna, con proposte analoghe depositate in tutte le Regioni fino alla proposta di legge nazionale in Parlamento per legalizzare l’eutanasia.
E poi, quattro sentenze della Corte costituzionale ottenute tramite procedimenti giudiziari accanto alle persone: due sul fine vita (sentenze 66/2025 e 132/2025) che interpretano come deve essere considerato il requisito del trattamento di sostegno vitale, una sull’accesso alla procreazione medicalmente assistita per donne singole che evidenzia che la cancellazione del divieto non incontra ostacoli costituzionali; una sentenza che ammette con sentenza di incostituzionalità, la firma certificata per le persone che non possono firmare manualmente le liste elettorali, attuando piena partecipazione politica alla vita del paese senza discriminazioni.
La richiesta di garantire l’aborto farmacologico senza obbligo di ricovero e la possibilità alle persone con disabilità di viaggiare in aereocon la propria carrozzina; la pressione sulle ASL per il diritto alla salute in carcere; liste di attesa azioni per garanzie nell’ accesso alle prestazioni. L’Associazione Luca Coscioni ha trasformato nell’ultimo anno le battaglie civili in conquiste di libertà.
Il XXII Congresso, in programma il 4 e 5 ottobre 2025 a Orvieto porrà le basi per le azioni future nella nella Regione dove sono nati Luca Coscioni, pioniere della libertà di ricerca scientifica, e Laura Santi, leader e volto della campagna sul fine vita, che dopo un calvario giudiziario di tre anni ha ottenuto il diritto ad accedere al “suicidio assistito” nel suo Paese, sostenuta dall’Associazione. “Non rassegnatevi mai”, le sue ultime parole, insieme alla memoria di Luca, saranno il filo conduttore del Congresso e delle strategie future dell’Associazione.
Filomena Gallo e Marco Cappato, rispettivamente Segretaria nazionale dell’Associazione e Tesoriere dell’Associazione, hanno dichiarato: “La nostra missione è quella di dare voce e volto alle persone rese invisibili dalla ottusità e dalla violenza delle istituzioni ancora di più che dalla malattia o dalla disabilità e di consentire loro di battersi in prima persona. Non aspettiamo che ‘vengano tempi migliori’ per le libertà civili, perché rischierebbero di non arrivare mai. Infatti, in assenza di lotte sociali nonviolente, in grado di imporsi nell’agenda della politica ufficiale, si rischia anche nel nostro Paese, come sta avvenendo negli USA e in altri Paesi formalmente democratici, un arretramento sul piano dei diritti civili“.
Oltre 170mila firme raccolte
Nell’ultimo anno l’Associazione Luca Coscioni ha raccolto le firme di oltre 170 mila persone in tutta Italia sui temi principali delle sue ventennali battaglie: eutanasia e fine vita, procreazione medicalmente assistita, gravidanza per altri, Aborto senza ricovero, per garantire la possibilità di deospedalizzare l’aborto farmacologico, disabilità, terapie assistite da psichedelici, cannabis legale e firma digitale.
A queste si aggiungono le firme 65.000, raccolte in questi anni su Liberi Subito, la proposta di legge regionale che garantisce il percorso di richiesta di suicidio medicalmente assistito e i controlli necessari in tempi certi e adeguati.
Sono state intraprese 39 azioni legali
Fine vita: 24 procedimenti di cui 18 civili e 6 penali, riguardo l’accesso al “suicidio assistito” in Italia e le disobbedienze civili per l’accompagnamento in Svizzera. Di questi 10 sono attualmente in tribunale e gli altri in fase stragiudiziale. Mentre per i procedimenti penali: un procedimento con tre persone sulle quali pende una imputazione coatta (Felicetta Maltese, Chiara Lalli e Marco Cappato) e altre nove indagate nei cinque procedimenti in cui sono in corso le indagini.
PMA: 15 casi sul tema della fecondazione assistita nei tribunali, di cui oltre 10 sul tema della gravidanza per altri (GPA). Di questi 10, almeno 7 anche sul fronte penale. Sono oltre 50 i casi su cui sono stati forniti pareri in fase stragiudiziale. Sul tema della PMA, è stata ottenuta una sentenza della Corte costituzionale in merito all’accesso alla PMA per donne singole a partire del caso di Evita, 40enne torinese, cui è stata negato l’accesso in Italia alla PMA.
Sono stati condotti 241 accessi agli atti
Salute in carcere: a seguito delle diffide per verificare le condizioni igienico-sanitarie negli istituti penitenziari, sono state effettuate 102 richieste di accesso agli atti a tutte le ASL italiane per ottenere le relazioni delle visite in carcere in modo da monitorare le condizioni degli istituti.
Fine vita (“suicidio assistito”): sono state effettuate 93 richieste di accesso agli atti tra Regioni e ASL per conoscere il numero di richieste di accesso al “suicidio assistito” effettuate in Italia dalla sentenza della Corte costituzionale 242 del 2019 sul caso Cappato-Dj Fabo che ha di fatto legalizzato l’accesso alla morte volontaria assisita in Italia a determinate condizioni.
Sempre in tema di fine vita, oltre 16.000 cittadini hanno ricevuto informazioni tramite il Numero Bianco su diritti legati a fine vita. Le iniziative popolari hanno portato all’approvazione di 2 leggi regionali sul suicidio assistito, al deposito in tutte le Regioni (discussa in 6), mentre sono state ottenute 2 udienze in Corte costituzionale sul fine vita. A livello nazionale, è stata depositata una proposta di legge di iniziativa popolare per legalizzare l’eutanasia. Sono 16.000, inoltre, i testamenti biologici scaricati dal sito dell’Associazione.
Barriere architettoniche: L’Associazione sta conducendo anche una attività di ricognizione dei Piani di Eliminazione delle barriere architettoniche nei comuni capoluoghi italiani. A fronte delle informazioni reperite sui siti di 60 capoluoghi, sono state promosse 46 richieste di accessi agli atti nelle restanti città. All’accesso, per il momento, hanno risposto 17 capoluoghi.
Partecipazione e mobilitazione
Oltre 585 eventi pubblici in tutta Italia hanno portato nelle piazze e nelle città temi sociali e scientifici spesso ignorati dalla politica, coinvolgendo 45.000 persone in campagne, petizioni e azioni politiche. Sono state inoltre depositate 2 proposte di legge in Parlamento, una sul fine vita e una sulla legalizzazione della gravidanza per altri.
