You can find the APK in the release page, otherwise you can install an app like Obtainium and add the main repository URL as a source (please remember to turn on the "enable pre-releases switch in Obtainium to install pre-production releases).

Today I realized how similar RFL and RFL look at the surface: bottom navigation with identical sections, navigation drawer, a timeline in the home screen, each post with header, content, media, actions.
They look like an elder and a younger brother. But there are some differences too:
- RFL uses SQLDelight for persistence, whereas RFF uses Room multiplatform;
- RFL uses Voyager's Bottom sheet navigator, RFF plain Material3 ModalBottomSheets;
- RFL uses coil2 for image rendering on Android and Kamel on iOS, RFF uses coil3 for both platforms;
- RFL makes heavy usage of the slide-to-reveal pattern for like/dislike actions, RFF doesn't and do not allow dislike (even if on Friendica it could be technically done);
- RFL has many customization options (zombie mode, different post layouts, many more languages etc.), RFF tries to have "sane defaults" and has a more minimalistic approach;
- RFL has a "sidebar" on the right side which RFF does not have (again, minimalism);
- RFL does not use a third party crash reporting and feedback system, RFF uses Sentry;
- RFL has Android-only tests even for common code using MockK, RFF has common tests using Mokkery.

Next Friendica Release Candidate available
The development cycle for the 2024.09 release enters the last stage before the stable release โ today we have branched off the 2024.09 release candid branch. 2024.09-rc contains all the features of the stable release and is meant to test the new features, find some last rough edges and smooth out the path to the final stable release at the end of October. 2024.09 will be mostly a maintenance release fixing issues in various parts of Friendica. If you want to help out in testing, please checkout the new 2024.09-rc branch and report problems that you encounter.
The most notable changes in this release are:
- we now support HLS and further improved the compatibility with Bluesky,
- we dropped the support of OStatus (the predecessor of ActivityPub) after evaluating the amount of active servers/contacts that are still only using this protocol,
- Friendica is now REUSE compliant and supports FEP-67ff
What is Friendica
Friendica is a decentralized communications platform, you can use to host your own social media server that integrates with independent social networking platforms (like the Fediverse or Diaspora*) but also some commercial ones like Tumbler and BlueSky.
How to use the 2024.09 RC Version of Friendica
If you want to help in the release process, you can checkout the 2024.09-rc branch from the git repositories.

git checkout 2024.09-rc
git pull
bin/composer.phar install --no-dev
Note that you only need to pull the composer dependencies in the core repository.
Should the upgrade process of the database get stuck
If you encounter this, please initiate the DB update manually from the command line by running the script
./bin/console dbstructure update
from the base of your Friendica installation. If the output contains any error message, please let us know using the channels mentioned above.
What to do with Quirks
The 2024.09-rc phase is meant to identify and preferable resolve quirks and bugs that should not be in the 2024.09 release, but have slipped through so far. So if you switch your node to the 2024.09-rc version of Friendica, please let us know about rough edges you find, either at the issue tracker (github account required), in the support group or in the developers group.

Ricordiamo a tutti gli iscritti di Poliversity che per scrivere messaggi formattati รจ necessario attivare l'apposita funzione.
Questo puรฒ essere fatto:
1) selezionando dalle impostazioni la modalitร predefinita di composizione: normale, markdown o HTML (fig.1)
2) selezionando impostando la modalitร di composizione dall'icona che compare nella casella di composizione del messaggio (fig.2).
Per attivare il selettore del punto 2, รจ necessario attivare le opzioni specifiche del fork di Mastodon, che si trovano sul menu laterale destro (App Settings), selezionare la scheda "Compose Box" (Fig. 3) e flaggare il check alla voce "Show content-type choice when authoring toots".
Compressione dei post lunghi
La nuova interfaccia interviene sui "post lunghi" comprimendoli per opzione predefinita.
Per disattivare o modificare questa opzione รจ necessario accedere alle impostazioni specifiche di Glitch-soc, come giร spiegato sopra, selezionare la scheda "Collapsed Toots" (Fig. 4) e togliere o mettere il flag alle seguenti voci:
- Tutto
- Notifiche
- Toot lunghi

@RaccoonForFriendica features/improvements I'll be considering for the next beta release:
- improve login flow with more detailed error and progress indications;
- state management in profile screen (scroll state is lost after navigating back and forth);
- fix bug due to which spoilers are hidden again shortly after having been expanded.
Let me know if you find other bugs or have any requests, I am planning to fix as much as possible to get to a stable release in the following weeks (the time required may vary depending on the amount of issues found).

Addendum: add a switch in app Settings to open groups(*) in forum mode by default, with the ability to switch back to classic mode if wanted (i.e. maintain the ability to switch when opened, but make the default mode configurable).
The reason to motivate this change is to give more prominence to the forum mode, a feature which is a peculiarity of Friendica and of the Raccoon app as well.
(*) Friendica groups, Guppe groups, any entity confirming to an ActivityPub group.

E pensare che Meta rompe tanto le palle su 'ste cose... che scraping dai loro siti non si deve fare per ToS, che se lo fai ti ratelimitano pesantemente, a tal punto che succede che ti bloccano anche se vedi troppa roba in giro da un normale browser senza un account loggato... perรฒ poi loro sono i primi.
