Ho appena realizzato una piccola presa di coscienza. È passato quasi un mese dall'ultima volta che ho postato su Twitter, in particolare da quando il nome è cambiato in X. C'è stato un momento in cui mi aggiornavo quotidianamente su ciò che stava accadendo su quella piattaforma, ma le cose sono cambiate.Ad essere onesto, ho appena perso interesse. Quando si tratta di tecnologia, il Fediverse sembra superare Twitter in ogni modo. Offre tutto ciò che offre Twitter, ma meglio.
Inoltre, dal punto di vista dei contenuti, trovo che il Fediverso copra tutte le esigenze. Posso facilmente trovare tutte le notizie e le informazioni di cui ho bisogno proprio qui, senza dover andare su Twitter. In realtà è più conveniente in questo modo.
Il motivo principale per cui le persone sembrano usare Twitter è per agitarsi su una sorta di argomento controverso. Ma onestamente, non è la mia tazza di tè. Semplicemente non mi interessa essere coinvolto in tutte le polemiche fabbricate su Twitter.
Il Fediverso soddisfa tutte le mie esigenze di microblogging e lo fa eccezionalmente bene.

Sabato 8 luglio 2023, gli account utente hanno iniziato a scomparire dall'istanza Mastodon di Vivaldi. Cosa stava succedendo, come è successo e quali sono state le conseguenze?
> Guardando il database ho potuto vedere che gli account interessati erano stati apparentemente cancellati e quindi ricreati come un account completamente nuovo quando l'utente ha effettuato nuovamente l'accesso.
198 account in totale sono stati cancellati nel corso di questo incidente e nelle ore successive, insieme agli sviluppatori di Mastodon, abbiamo iniziato a esaminare cosa potesse essere accaduto. Su suggerimento di Eugen, abbiamo esaminato la possibilità che gli UserCleanupScheduleraccount eliminati fossero "non confermati", ma alla fine questo è stato escluso, poiché gli utenti eliminati non avrebbero mai potuto corrispondere alla query su cui operava.
Un bug nel codice combinato con una configurazione del database sconsiderata ha causato l'unione di 198 account utente in un unico account remoto. È stato impiegato un intero fine settimana per trovare la causa e riparare i danni causati.

Bluesky IN - Twitter OUT: dismesso il connettore Twitter di Poliverso ma è già attivo quello per Bluesky: e forse a settembre Friendica potrebbe federarsi anche con il nuovo social di Jack Dorsey
Il connettore twitter di Poliverso è stato dismesso, dopo aver onorevolmente svolto il suo dovere per quasi due anni: da alcuni giorni però non consentiva più di pubblicare messaggi su Twitter, limitandosi a importare messaggi sulla timeline di Friendica, e questo stava anche provocando continui errori e insopportabili rallentamenti del sistema.
Poco male: ci siamo risparmiati il rebranding e gli ultimi shitposting del suo padrone.
Annunciamo invece che è già attivo il connettore per Bluesky che consente al momento di pubblicare messaggi Friendica sul social azzurro!
Gli sviluppatori di Friendica però stanno lavorando per implementare con la nuova release di settembre la possibilità di federarsi effettivamente con Bluesky.
Siamo in attesa di capire cosa comporterà questa implementazione in termini di risorse e vi terremo aggiornati.
Infine vogliamo scusarci per i rallentamenti che si stanno verificando sul nostro server: purtroppo siamo giunti a un punto in cui il nostro cloud non può essere più potenziato in termini di potenza di calcolo (che è l'aspetto che più ci sta creando problemi) e perciò stiamo valutando se raddoppiare i costi mensili e passare a una nuova configurazione, oppure se cambiare fornitore.
Si tratta di una scelta che dobbiamo operare con una certa attenzione e probabilmente non riusciremo a compierla prima del mese di settembre. Se riscontrerete disguidi, fatecelo sapere.

La scommessa di Meta è quella di creare un unico grande sistema di condivisione dei contenuti in modo che le varie app social siano interoperabili tra loro, grazie al protocollo di rete chiamato #ActivityPub
Malumori interni a parte, l’ultima parola spetterà a #Meta: se la compagnia implementerà gli strumenti necessari per aderire al fediverso, difficilmente la si potrà fermare. Non sarà la salvezza di Internet come prefigura qualcuno, ma ne vedremo sicuramente delle belle. Tra queste, forse, anche il definitivo tramonto di #Twitter. Chissà.

This is also a problem in the US: the total for a shirt was over $50, nearly half of which was shipping. This was on top of the mugs being sold out.
Any way you can get a North-American vendor in on this? I'd definitely accept this price if I could get a shirt and mug at this price.
