While we cannot be certain this is the world’s smallest digital photo frame, [Raphaël Boichot]’s Pico Slide Show is probably in the running. Since the 0.85″ TFT display would be wasted on multi-megapixle images, [Raphael] has dedicated this project to images from the Game Boy Camera.
It’s a good fit: the tiny square display has a resolution of 128 pixels per side, while the Game Boy Camera produces files measuring 128 x 112. That allows for pixel-perfect rendering of the grainy images from everyone’s favourite early digicam with just a little letter boxing. While perfect for all your on-the-go GameBoy slideshow needs, an enclosure might be a good idea for hauling around that battery. The brains of the operation are an RP2040, provided via the RP2040-zero breakout from Waveshare. Since everything is through-hole or on breakouts, this wouldn’t be a bad project for a beginner solderer.
Since it would make no sense not to have this tiny unit to be portable, power is provided with a 503035 LiPo pouch on the back. It’s only 500 mAh, sure, but this device isn’t going to be chugging power, so we’d expect a reasonable runtime.
Alas, no link cable functionality is currently included, and files must be transferred via PC. Images are saved to the Pico’s flash memory, and [Raphaël] says any format from any Gameboy printer emulator will work, provided it has a four-colour palette. The flash memory on the chip has room for 540 images, which seems like more than enough. Regardless of the novelty of the tiny screen and retro format, nobody wants to see that many holiday snaps in one go.

Pentagon Asks Its Civilian Employees If They Want to Work for ICE
The Department of Defense sent an email to civilian employees Wednesday asking them to sign up for a “volunteer force” that will help both Immigrations and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection with Donald Trump’s mass deportation campaign. A job application page says the Department of Defense's civilian employees would be deployed to ICE and CBP sites and that they may be expected to work under “austere conditions.”
“The Secretary of Defense has authorized DoD civilian employees to participate in details to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to contribute to its operations along the Southern Border and its internal immigration enforcement activities,” the email, seen by 404 Media, says. “Selected Department employees will have a chance to offer critical support to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as they fulfill the President’s intent to ensure a safe and orderly immigration system.”
The email suggests that DHS is trying to recruit from within the Department of Defense for CBP and ICE, which has a vastly expanded budget and has been trying to hire new agents at a huge scale. The email, which was addressed to “DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE CIVILIAN EMPLOYEES,” asks current civilian Department of Defense employees to apply for the force on the USA Jobs website. The application page says the employees would be working largely in support roles at “facilities along the U.S. border or ICE and CBP facilities throughout the interior of the United States … Locations will extend to other geographic areas according to the need. Conditions at some locations could be austere. Deployment locations are based on need and are not negotiable.”
“At the discretion of ICE and CBP, Detailees will be assigned to perform some or all of the following duties at the several ICE and CBP facilities throughout the interior of the United States:
Data Entry: Enter and maintain data elements in relevant information systems;

Processing and Throughput Logistics: Assist ICE and CBP in managing the physical flow of detained illegal aliens from arrest to deportation, as well as manage associated data;
Logistical Support: Assist ICE and CBP in managing the logistical planning to move law enforcement personnel, operational capabilities, and support equipment across the United States to improve efficiencies and the effectiveness of operations.”
In recent weeks, the Trump administration deployed the Marines to Los Angeles and deployed the National Guard to Los Angeles and Washington D.C. The Los Angeles deployments were in response to widespread protests against ICE raids in the city, but the military itself was not conducting immigration enforcement.
The email references a June memo sent by Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth to "senior Pentagon leadership" that reads "In support of the President' s priority of securing our borders, I am authorizing the detail of Department of Defense (DoD) civilian employees to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to support its operations at the United States southern border and with internal immigration enforcement."

Capacitive touch sensors are entirely in the domain of DIY, requiring little more than a carefully-chosen conductive surface and a microcontroller. This led [John Phillips] to ask why not embed such touch buttons directly into a 3D print? Button locations and labels can be made as part of the 3D print, which is handy. The process is not much different from that of embedding hardware like magnets or fasteners into 3D prints: one pauses the print at convenient spot, drops in the necessary hardware, then resumes printing. It’s more or less the same for embedding a touch-sensitive button, but [John] has a few tips to make things easier.
[John] suggests using a strip of copper tape, one per touch pad, and embedding it into the print near the surface. His preference is three layers in, putting the copper tape behind 0.6 mm of plastic when using standard 0.20 mm layer heights.
Copper tape makes a good capacitive touch sensor, and the adhesive on the tape helps ensure it stays in place as the 3D printer seals it in on subsequent passes.
Copper tape is also easy to solder to, so [John] leaves a small hole over the copper — enough to stick in a wire and tack it down with the tip of a soldering iron and a blob of solder after the print is complete. It might not be ideal soldering conditions, but if things get a little melty on the back side it’s not the end of the world.

One of the vehicles was a military vehicle,” D.C. Emergency Medical Services spokesperson Vito Maggiolo told 404 Media. “We extricated the driver of the civilian vehicle…and that driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries." National Guard did not return 404 Media’s request for comment, but told Washington Post reporter Dan Lamothe that a National Guard M-ATV hit the civilian and that the crash was "currently undergoing an investigation.” Images provided by Operand Online. The D.C. National Guard is conducting "presence patrols” in the D.C. metro area—a term of art originally used by the Pentagon to describe Global War on Terror operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. During a "presence patrol,” troops walk through civilian areas as a show of force. These current patrols are happening at the behest of President Donald Trump. At the moment, the DC National Guard is unarmed but guardsmen have been ordered to train with pistols and may be armed on the streets of D.C. in the coming days.
M-ATVs are a product of America’s war in Afghanistan. They were pitched as a lighter weight and more nimble version of the Pentagon’s MRAP that was designed to navigate Afghanistan’s crumbling infrastructure. M-ATVs weigh 15 tons, or around 30,000 pounds, and are meant to survive the blast from an improvised explosive device. A 15 ton vehicle moving at high speed will have a hard time stopping on any street, let alone the streets of D.C.

Chi sono gli Initial Access Broker (IAB)
Gli Initial Access Broker rappresentano una figura centrale nell’ecosistema del cybercrime. La loro attività consiste nel compromettere le infrastrutture informatiche di aziende – tramite phishing, exploit di vulnerabilità, credenziali rubate o attacchi brute force – per poi rivendere questi accessi sul dark web. Gli acquirenti possono essere gruppi ransomware, criminali interessati al furto di dati sensibili, oppure attori che sfruttano questi punti di ingresso per muoversi lateralmente all’interno delle reti e lanciare attacchi mirati.
Di fatto, gli IAB abbassano la barriera d’ingresso al cybercrimine: chiunque abbia le risorse economiche per acquistare un accesso iniziale può bypassare la fase più complessa di un attacco, accelerando la compromissione dell’obiettivo.

Il messaggio è stato pubblicato da un utente con nickname NetworkBrokers, che nel forum gode di uno status di alto livello (“GOD”) e vanta una reputazione positiva. Nel post, datato 25 agosto 2025 alle 03:55 AM, l’utente scrive:

Il testo, molto sintetico, è accompagnato dal logo ufficiale della multinazionale statunitense. Non vengono riportati dettagli tecnici sull’accesso in vendita (ad esempio tipologia, livello di privilegi, modalità di accesso o prezzo richiesto). Tuttavia, il semplice annuncio è sufficiente per attirare l’attenzione degli attori malevoli in cerca di nuove opportunità di attacco.
Un rischio che potrebbe estendersi alla supply chain
Non è chiaro se l’accesso offerto riguardi direttamente i sistemi di Nike USA o se sia legato a un fornitore terzo che collabora con l’azienda. In entrambi i casi, l’impatto potenziale è significativo: nel primo scenario l’attacco colpirebbe direttamente l’organizzazione, nel secondo potrebbe generare un effetto domino tipico delle supply chain attacks, che sfruttano i legami con partner esterni meno protetti per penetrare in infrastrutture di alto profilo.
Considerazioni finali
La comparsa di un annuncio simile conferma ancora una volta come i grandi brand globali siano costantemente nel mirino della criminalità informatica e come la filiera di fornitori e partner possa rappresentare un anello debole nella difesa.
Se confermato, l’accesso messo in vendita potrebbe essere sfruttato da cyber gang per future campagne ransomware o di data exfiltration.
Una vulnerabilità nel popolare strumento di lancio di modelli di intelligenza artificialeOllama ha aperto la strada ad attacchi drive-by , consentendo agli aggressori di interferire silenziosamente con l’applicazione locale tramite un sito Web appositamente preparato, leggere la corrispondenza personale e persino sostituire i modelli utilizzati, caricando anche versioni infette.
La falla di sicurezza è stata scoperta e divulgata il 31 luglio da Chris Moberly, Senior Security Manager di GitLab. La vulnerabilità riguardava Ollama Desktop v0.10.0 ed era correlata a un’implementazione errata dei controlli CORS nel servizio web locale responsabile della GUI. Di conseguenza, JavaScript su una pagina dannosa poteva scansionare un intervallo di porte sul computer della vittima (da 40000 a 65535), trovare una porta casuale utilizzata dalla GUI di Ollama e inviare una falsa richiesta POST “semplice” , modificando le impostazioni e reindirizzando il traffico al server dell’aggressore.

Moberly ha osservato che sfruttare la vulnerabilità “sarebbe banale” e ha sottolineato che persino la preparazione dell’infrastruttura di attacco avrebbe potuto essere automatizzata utilizzando un LLM. Fortunatamente, il team di Ollama ha risposto rapidamente e ha riconosciuto il problema e ha rilasciato una versione aggiornata, v0.10.1, un’ora dopo, che corregge il bug. Per gli utenti che hanno installato Ollama tramite gli installer ufficiali, è stato sufficiente riavviare il programma affinché l’aggiornamento automatico avesse effetto; chi lo ha installato tramite Homebrew deve aggiornarlo manualmente.
Il codice PoC ela descrizione tecnica dell’attacco sono stati pubblicati da Moberly su GitLab. Non ci sono ancora informazioni che la vulnerabilità sia stata sfruttata dagli aggressori, ma il ricercatore consiglia a tutti gli utenti di Ollama di assicurarsi di avere una patch.
Ollama è progettato per eseguire modelli LLM localmente su computer macOS e Windows. La vulnerabilità non ha interessato l’API principale di Ollama ed è stata limitata alla nuova GUI disponibile solo poche settimane prima della scoperta del bug. DC National Guard Is Being Trained to Carrying Pistols Known to Fire at Random
The DC National Guard may soon be patrolling the streets of our nation's capital with a handgun famous for firing on its own.
Following news that National Guard troops in DC would soon carry weapons, journalist Marisa Kabas of The Handbasket reported that members of the Guard on duty in DC were being sent to firing ranges to make sure they know their way around M-17 pistols. playlist.megaphone.fm?p=TBIEA2… The M-17 is the military variant of the Sig Sauer P320, a handgun famous for accidental discharges. Controversy has swirled around the weapon in gun nerd circles for years as the number of incidents where it fires on its own has stacked up. Multiple shooting ranges won’t allow the P320 on the premises, ICE told its agents to stop using the gun, and a recently leaked 2024 FBI report confirmed it’s prone to fire at random.
And yet the National Guard is being trained to carry it on the streets of DC. According to messages and documents obtained by Kabas, members of the DC National Guard task force were “qualifying” with the M-17, meaning they can demonstrate proficiency with it and are cleared to use it during a mission. “According to two people familiar with the situation and whose identities are being kept anonymous for their safety, members of the DC National Guard task force assigned to patrol the streets of the nation’s capitol are qualifying—military speak for meeting training requirements—to carry and operate M-17 pistols,” Kabas reported.
The U.S. military started carrying the M-17 in 2017 after Sig won a contract to replace aging Beretta M9s and Sig M11s.
The gun has long been controversial, but the problems with it broke into the mainstream in July after Airman Brayden Lovan died at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming. Early reporting indicated that Lovan had died from a gunshot wound. Days after his death, Air Force’s Global Strike Command suspended the use of M-18 pistols (a compact variant of the M-17) and people assumed the weapon’s infamous accidental discharge problems were to blame.
In the aftermath of Lovan’s death, gun nerds spent hours dismantling the gun online in an effort to explain its mysterious tendency to fire by itself. Matt Rittman, who makes YouTube videos under the name Wyoming Gun Project, discovered that the P320’s slide has a lot of give and that a combination of slight pressure on the trigger and wobbling the slide can make the gun discharge. It’s common enough that there are supercuts on YouTube that show law enforcement officer’s P320 firing when holstered. Rittman’s demonstration has been copied, memed, and reposted in gun nerd circles since his discovery.
On August 8, the Air Force announced it had arrested an unnamed airman in connection to Lovan’s death. The shot that had caused controversy around the P320 and sent gun nerds scrambling for answers looks to be anything but accidental. “Out of an abundance of caution and based on initial reporting, Air Force authorities ordered various safety precautions involving the M-18 after this tragic event,” an Air Force spokesperson told Task & Purpose. “Since then, the investigation has progressed and an individual has now been arrested on suspicion of making a false official statement, obstruction of justice, and involuntary manslaughter.”
Through all of this, gunmaker Sig Sauer has denied any wrongdoing. It issued multiple statements saying the gun is safe and that it only fires if the trigger is “moved to the rear.” It also provides a customer service phone number to people “impacted by a P320 range or a training provider ban” so Sig can “clarify any misinformation and provide the truth.”
Unless something changes, the M-17 will soon be on the streets of DC and in the hands of the National Guard as they conduct "presence patrols” on behalf of the Trump administration.
The D.C. National Guard did not return 404 Media’s request for comment.

AI at the World’s Biggest Games Event Booked Random Meetings for Attendees
Gamescom, one of the biggest video game industry trade shows in the world, used AI to book meetings for attending publishers, developers, and media even if they didn’t want them. Attendees complained about random meetings showing up on their calendars, prompting Gamescom to turn off the feature and apologize.
Gamescom is a video game trade fair and convention in Germany that brings together journalists, developers, and studio executives for a week of networking and announcements. Since the death of E3, Gamescom is now the biggest video game convention in the world. playlist.megaphone.fm?p=TBIEA2… It’s a place where people take a lot of meetings, but usually ones they requested and set up weeks in advance by talking directly to human public relations represenatives. Those plagued by AI-generated meetings shared their frustration on social media. “I’ve got 9x AI-created meetings that have all been ‘accepted’ by the other attendee… but after speaking to one they’ve confirmed they didn’t know about it either,” Graham Day, a Twitch partner, said on X.
Screenshots of Day’s Gamescom app showed a block of 30 minutes 1-on-1 meetings had been confirmed and that the meeting had been "generated based on profile similarities.”

I’ve got 9x AI-created meetings that have all been “accepted” by the other attendee… but after speaking to one they’ve confirmed they didn’t know about it either.
“The Gamescom app AI-generating meetings you have to manually decline is absolutely heinous shit,” Chris Schilling, the editorial director of Lost In Cult, said on Bluesky.
Developer JC Lau shared screenshots of the message she received from the app. “Our meeting generator has sent you a meeting suggestion with a person who matches your interests,” the app said in the screenshot. “Don’t miss an opportunity—accept requests!”
The message implied that guests would need to accept the AI-generated meetings to confirm them. But a follow up from Lau showed that wasn’t the case. One of their friends had 9 different push notifications from the app, all for confirmed AI-generated meetings.
“Gamescom's app added an AI feature this year and it did not go well. Folks were overwhelmed with automatically generated meeting requests that they did not want. It generated a lot of stuff, but not value,” freelance product and UX designer Robiny-Yann Storm said on Bluesky. AI is on Storm’s mind. He’s giving a talk about Gamescom titled: Old news, new package: AI, Procedural Generation, UGC, In-Game Trading, Crypto, and the Metaverse. “It's targeted towards games-adjacent folks, not just game-devs, in how to recognize, discuss, and prevent the 'bamboozle' of things that sound new, but are actually much older,” he told 404 Media.
On Bluesky, Henry Stockdale, a senior editor at UploadVR, said that the AI-generated meetings gave him a minor panic attack as he was boarding his plane. “Two meetings were scheduled that already clashed with appointments made outside of the Gamescom platform, so I would not have attended them,” he told 404 Media. “I don't use generative AI and am actively put off by platforms forcing that functionality in.”
Gamescom backtracked. It disabled the AI and sent attendees an apology. It’s unclear how long the service was active and generating unwanted meetings and Gamescom did not return 404 Media’s request for comment. “We tested a new feature today—the AI meeting generator. The Aim was to suggest suitable business contacts based on your profiles and make it easier for you to plan your trade fair contacts,” Gamescom follow up said.
“However, your honest feedback shows us that this feature does not provide the desired value. We have therefore decided to completely remove the automatically generated meetings from your profiles,” it added. “We apologize for any inconvenience caused.”
Many of the affected attendees posted copies of the apology across X and Bluesky. “I think they handled it well, quickly realising this was a bad idea and apologising, though the fact they even thought to try this days before the event is, put politely: poor,” Stockdale said.
Right now, companies are forcing generative AI into everyone’s life, whether they want it or not. It might be a bubble, one so big that it’s propping up the U.S. economy, but we’re stuck with it until it bursts.
Gamescom attendees who escaped AI-generated meetings will not be escaping AI during their time in Germany. NVIDIA is there with Project G-Assist, an AI assistant it says will let PC users dial in their gaming settings. Chris Hewish, the CEO of payment company Xsolla, told Variety that AI would be one of the big focuses of the conference. And Microsoft will host a roundtable for developers about how AI can make them more efficient.

Any serious journalist would tell you that it’d be journalistic malpractice for a local journalist not to report that a prominent public official listed a boarded-up house as his official residence in order to claim eligibility for his position. But that’s not how John Sarcone III, acting U.S. attorney for the Northern District of New York, sees it.
He was reportedly “incensed” by reporting from the Times Union of Albany and ordered his subordinates to remove it from his office’s media list. In response, Freedom of the Press Foundation (FPF), Demand Progress Education Fund, and Reinvent Albany have filed a complaint against Sarcone with New York’s Attorney Grievance Committee.
As the complaint explains, “Sarcone is the chief legal officer charged with enforcing federal law in a district that covers over 30,000 square miles and is home to 3.4 million people. And yet he either does not know or does not care about the ‘practically universal agreement that a major purpose of [the First] Amendment was to protect the free discussion of governmental affairs.’”
The complaint requests that the Committee open an investigation to determine whether Sarcone's conduct violates New York’s Rules of Professional Conduct, and exercise its power to impose sanctions, which can include disbarment.
FPF’sDirector of Advocacy Seth Stern said: “All licensed attorneys — but especially top prosecutors entrusted to protect the public, not just their clients — should know better than to retaliate against newspapers for basic public-interest journalism. Sarcone has repeatedly abused his office in his brief tenure. The committee should ensure he can no longer undermine the Constitution and embarrass the legal profession.”
Demand Progress Education Fund Special Advisor Kate Oh stated: “A prosecutor who so flagrantly disregards his ethical and professional obligations and tramples over the First Amendment rights of the press should not be empowered to enforce the laws of our nation. Sarcone’s professional history is littered with red flags and must be investigated. No less than the public’s faith in the rule of law is at stake.”
Reinvent Albany Executive Director John Kaehny said: “With great power comes great responsibility, and U.S. Attorneys like John Sarcone are among the most powerful people in America. Unfortunately, Mr. Sarcone has grossly abused his authority and betrayed the public trust. Mr. Sarcone's flagrant misuse of his authority to retaliate against the Albany Times-Union and his repeated, well-documented dishonesty are completely unacceptable, unethical, and violate basic democratic norms and rules of professional conduct. Da questo punto di vista Viareggio è un po' vivace: si vede che vi esistono ambienti sociali favorevoli ai guitti dell'"occidentalismo" più abietto. A testimonianza della serietà dell'intento anche l'esistenza di una pagina personale su Wikipedia, presente in Google ma precipitosamente cancellata da qualcuno, probabilmente convinto che il giovane Pistoia per adesso non abbia fatto nulla che gli valga l'inclusione tra le grandi figure di interesse enciclopedico come Albert Einstein o Alvaro Vitali. L'impegno gli sarebbe costato anche un'aggressione, denunciata con toni da sceneggiatura.

Una cosa che avrebbe rafforzato la sua determinazione e che gli ha attirato qualche attestazione di solidarietà (qui su Archive). Invece dopo Ferragosto Leonardo Pistoia -che secondo le gazzette non svolgerebbe alcuna attività lavorativa- è stato arrestato come un indesiderabile qualsiasi, e non certo per aver organizzato un colpo di Stato. Sequestro di persona, maltrattamenti in famiglia, lesioni personali. Il gazzettaio riferisce anche delle dichiarazioni della sua vittima, sottoposta da mesi a continue violenze psicologiche, minacce, danneggiamenti, percosse e a un'aggressione fisica sotto la minaccia di un coltello e di un manganello effettivamente reperiti dalla gendarmeria. Al momento in cui scriviamo è verosimile che ad attendere Leonardo Pistoia sia un futuro piuttosto difficile, e non è nel nostro stile spingerci oltre con l'infierire sui motivi che lo hanno fatto associare alla casa circondariale di competenza. Motivi che probabilmente non sono nemmeno estranei alla sua familiarità con l'ambiente di Torre del Lago, una località che ha il pregio di attirare frequentatori le cui propensioni hanno senz'altro il merito di non prestarsi a equivoci. Tanto basti per adoperarsi nei modestissimi limiti del possibile a far sì che Leonardo Pistoia abbia qualche difficoltà ad avvalersi del diritto all'oblio per i prossimi cinque, dieci, venti o trent'anni. L'iniziativa "Silver Noice" di INTERPOL mira a modificare tale dato, dando visibilità globale su miliardi di dollari in beni illegali e supportando il loro recupero e il loro ritorno al loro proprietario legale.
Silver Notice è il più recente "codice a colori" di Interpol, e consente ai paesi di condividere avvisi e richieste di informazioni in tutto il mondo. È stato lanciato sperimentalmente lo scorso gennaio 2025, con 51 paesi partecipanti e alla fine di giugno sono stati pubblicati oltre 50 avvisi, coinvolgendo paesi da tutto il mondo. Tutte le richieste di pubblicazione di un Silver Notice sono esaminate dal team di operazioni e specialisti legali e, per coloro che sono ammessi alla pubblicazione, la unità di criminalità finanziaria specializzata lavora a stretto contatto con le giurisdizioni coinvolte per tracciare e identificare i beni ricercati. Partendo da contanti o criptovaluta a immobili, yacht di lusso o automobili, questi beni sono i proventi illegali di attività criminali come frode, corruzione, droga, armi e traffico di esseri umani, e la criminalità ambientale. Sono spesso rapidamente spostati oltre i confini, rendendo il recupero altamente complesso e dipendente dall'efficace cooperazione internazionale che solo INTERPOL può fornire. Il primo Silver Notice è stato richiesto in gennaio dall'Italia: la Guardia di Finanza era alla ricerca di informazioni sui beni appartenenti ad un appartenente alla mafia. Da allora, è anche diventata una delle prime storie di successo del nuovo strumento, con oltre 1,7 milioni di dollari in attività illegali – che vanno da contanti e immobili a veicoli e persino bovini – identificati e situati in Brasile. A seguito dei primi contatti tra gli organi giurisdizionali nazionali in Italia e in Brasile, la pubblicazione della Silver Notice ha consentito un coordinamento diretto tra Forze di polizia, sostenuto dall’unità specializzata di criminalità finanziaria di INTERPOL. Ciò a sua volta ha portato alla cooperazione con l'appropriata corte brasiliana a livello locale e alla riuscita identificazione dei beni illegali, con il coordinamento per garantire il loro sequestro in corso. “L’iniziativa Silver Communication dà alla legge il suo primo strumento globale per rendere questo tipo di risultato una realtà”, afferma Claudio Marinelli, Coordinatore Operativo, INTERPOL Financial Crime and Anti-Corruption Centre. “Fino al suo lancio, abbiamo avuto zero visibilità sul valore del danno creato da criminali organizzati a livello globale, ma ora i dati delle comunicazioni e delle diffusioni già pubblicate ci danno un quadro chiaro di miliardi di dollari in beni illeciti, con centinaia di obiettivi identificati e centinaia di nuovi indizi da indagare. ”
Seguendo i soldi in tutto il mondo Oltre a fornire un caso di coordinamento per sostenere i paesi che seguono questi obiettivi, gli esperti di criminalità finanziaria hanno anche organizzato workshop per dare ai professionisti dell'applicazione della legge e della giustizia in tutte le regioni una migliore comprensione di come utilizzare lo strumento nella sua fase pilota. Il loro impatto è stato chiaro, con il numero di richieste di pubblicazione moltiplicato cinque volte dopo il primo workshop solo nelle Americhe. “I partecipanti ai workshop sono stati molto entusiasti del potenziale dell’Avviso d’Argento”, afferma Theos Badege, Director pro tempore, INTERPOL Financial Crime and Anti-Corruption Centre. “Lo sanno che il denaro è il filo che attraversa quasi ogni forma di crimine organizzato e che per smantellare le reti criminali, dobbiamo seguire i soldi – identificarlo, rintracciarlo, interrompere l’infrastruttura finanziaria che consente loro di riciclare denaro attraverso i confini e lavorare per restituire beni rubati al loro legittimo proprietario,” conclude.

Quante volte abbiamo usato Google per tradurre testi in italiano, o dall'italiano in altre lingue? Il vero problema è che ormai nell'immaginario collettivo sia quello l'unico servizio gratuito e immediato per avere traduzioni di qualità... invece è molto semplice trovare un'alternativa!
Nelle immagini (le prime quattro nel post, le successive in questo commento) trovate un confronto tra i traduttori esaminati (incluso Google Traduttore per riferimento) basato sullo stesso testo in tedesco.
1) Kagi traduttore Una delle due componenti gratuite della suite Kagi, che offre un motore di ricerca a pagamento "senza pubblicità e senza sorveglianza", strumenti per la privacy e funzioni IA che promettono di essere rispettose ed efficaci. (Stanno anche sviluppando un nuovo browser non basato su motori preesistenti, il che sembra un'ottima notizia vista la situazione di monopolio di Chrome e le ultime derive di casa Mozilla...) Il traduttore è sicuramente uno dei migliori in circolazione e permette anche di tradurre siti web e di inviare un collegamento alla pagina già tradotta. (La traduzione è migliore di quella fornita internamente dai browser, come per es. Brave) Le lingue sono numerosissime e includono moltissime lingue locali o regionali (dal papiamento al siciliano...) Non è richiesto altro che di spuntare una casella per verificare di non essere un bot. L'ascolto del testo è riservato agli abbonati.
2) DeepL traduttore Traduzioni di qualità anche superiore a Kagi, numero di lingue molto minore almeno nella versione gratuita (35) e l'assistente alla scrittura AI incluso tra gli strumenti gratuiti senza registrazione (ma non la traduzione di pagine web). La piattaforma è specializzata negli strumenti linguistici e offre piani a pagamento per privati e aziende.
3) Reverso Già noto per gli ottimi dizionari online, anche Reverso fornisce un servizio di traduzione automatica di testi. Anche la possibilità di riformulare la traduzione con l'IA e l'ascolto dei testi con voce sintetica sono disponibili gratuitamente e senza registrazione. Numerosi servizi linguistici nella versione premium. La traduzione è buona (anche se nel mio caso ha ignorato completamente l'ultima frase...)
4) Quillbot Quillbot fornisce servizi IA avanzati per la gestione dei testi, tra cui quelli per riconoscere testi generati da IA o plagiati, per "umanizzare" testi generati o creare citazioni. Il traduttore è gratuito e senza registrazione e dà la possibilità di riformulare la traduzione più volte (la qualità, tuttavia, non mi sembra eccelsa).
5) Lingva translate Tra i progetti open source, sicuramente quello che dà traduzioni migliori (ufficialmente è un frontend per Google Traduttore, perciò utilizza il motore di Google in modo anonimo, tuttavia la traduzione fornita è molto diversa da quella di Google - probabilmente non può utilizzarne le funzionalità più avanzate). Dopo essere sfuggita alla cattura in Thailandia, la donna è stata fermata in Bulgaria e infine estradata in Tanzania. Ho provato con tutti e tre i bridge disponibili, stesso risultato.
La versione l'ho installata dal Play Market ed è la 14.5.5 del 25 luglio scorso, sul sito di Tor c'è una 14.5.6 ma per android propone 4 download diversi per 4 architetture. Come faccio a capire quale architettura usi il mio telefono?
Last, non ho WiFi, ho solo la connessione tramite SIM.
