LA PACE
Da bambino, quando guardavo i film western, ci credevo.
Credevo al messaggio del trionfo della civiltà sull’uomo selvatico, alla sconfitta del male di fronte al bene rappresentato dall’uomo bianco emblema del buono, del giusto, del forte e simbolo di una civiltà da sostenere per lo sviluppo della società moderna.
Non avevo capito che ci stavano educando alla sopraffazione del debole, alla guerra di espansione, al furto di un continente e delle sue risorse, e alla necessità di sterminare gli indiani per defraudarli di un loro diritto, della loro terra, della loro stessa vita.
E non avevo neppure capito che quella era una lotta impari, che avrebbe sopraffatto i veri proprietari di quel posto, che avrebbe annientato una cultura preziosa, uccisi degli uomini, cancellato il diritto all’esistenza di quella gente.
Pensavo, nella mia infantile innocenza, che americani e indiani fossero atavici nemici, ma che un bel giorno avrebbero finalmente fumato il calumet della pace e convissuto assieme felici e amici.
Mi era sembrato addirittura che i cowboy erano i legittimi proprietari dell’America "scoperta" da Colombo, e che gli indiani stessero tentando, con i loro obsolescenti mezzi, e la loro turpe straniera cattiveria, di scacciarli via per impossessarsene.
Non avevo capito che il messaggio che insinuavano era che loro sono i nostri nemici, e che vanno combattuti e uccisi. Che non ha importanza nient’altro tranne il fatto che sono cattivi a prescindere. Che sono i nostri nemici e basta, perché a noi conviene.
Non avevo capito niente, e oggi non è cambiato niente.
La tecnica degli arroganti è rimasta invariata. È sempre la stessa. D’altronde, squadra vincente non si cambia.
Per loro squallido tornaconto invadono, uccidono, colonizzano, sporcano con le loro mani insanguinate ogni obiettivo che possa recare loro vantaggio, ricchezza, potere. E i nemici sono sempre quelli la cui cultura è diversa: vietnamiti, iraniani, cinesi, yemeniti, palestinesi, russi.
Senza alcun ritegno mandano loro gli eserciti fin dentro casa, al fine di depredarne le risorse, e poi gridano al pericolo nucleare, al terrorismo, alla minaccia di invasione, al terzo conflitto mondiale, come se il vero pericolo fosse chi li subisce, e non loro.
Con la crudeltà che ostentano senza la benché minima dignità.
Senza la minima compassione per i vinti, per i morti, per i parenti e gli affetti dei morti. Senza alcun principio morale, senza la minima etica, senza un barlume di umanità.
È un mostro ingannevole e avido di denaro, questa Babilonia che fagocita diritti e deboli, demolisce al suo passaggio qualunque cosa che per lei sia un disvalore. Vite umane, case, affetti, pace.
Distrugge tutto, saccheggia tutto, uccide tutti.
E noi ci siamo dentro.
Alcuni, addirittura compiacenti; molti invece ignari che diamo loro appoggio permettendo che da qui partano armi, denaro, droni della morte, ospitando basi e inferni nucleari che servono a combattere guerre che non ci appartengono. Missili, soldati, aerei, morti sulla coscienza.
La globalizzazione evidentemente doveva servire a questo. Era il disegno che gli antiglobalisti avevano capito subito. Doveva servire a diradare nel nostro popolo e in tutti i popoli la luce dell’orgoglio nazionalista, a demolire il muro dello sciovinismo, la nostra sovranità, anche la nostra italiana dignità, tutto a vantaggio della loro supremazia, per celebrare questa occidentale servitù verso il più forte, verso il più ricco, verso il più potente che ci avrebbe resi finalmente liberi grazie a una discutibile — perché perversa — forma di democrazia, che libera di una libertà che incatena.
E che annulla la nostra cultura, la nostra individualità, le nostre singolari peculiarità, la nostra autodeterminazione. La nostra economia, il nostro prodotto interno, la nostra industria, il nostro commercio, la nostra agricoltura, il nostro artigianato.
Eravamo servi ieri con i western, sostenendo la logica dell’invasione, siamo servi oggi.
E intanto la gente muore, le case crollano sotto le bombe, il Papa prega, i sacerdoti riuniscono i fedeli in preghiera mentre noi contribuiamo con i nostri acquisti al mercimonio delle armi da inviare.
Con le famiglie piegate in due dal carobollette.
Ogni centesimo in più di aumento sui prodotti di consumo equivale a una pallottola che uccide una persona, ogni litro di benzina a un respiro che si spegne, ogni fiamma della caldaia a due occhi sbarrati per sempre, fissi nell’istante della fine; mentre noi, sonnolenti e abulici, sosteniamo gli sciacalli, senza riflettere su quanto sia vile far finta di niente, quanto sia incredibile veder sprecati tutti questi soldi per creare strumenti di dolore e di morte, e non, invece, medicina e sanità, istruzione e lavoro, serenità e pace, mentre tutto il mondo muore ucciso.
Dalla guerra, dalla fame, dalla cattiveria, dalle avidità, dall'egoismo, dal dolore.
Tutto questo è stomachevole, rivoltante.
E poi andiamo a letto con la coscienza sporca, ma pulita.
Perché il servo, quando è servo, fa il bene solo se obbedisce.
Mi viene in mente una citazione , stupenda, di Bonhoeffer: a forza di obbedire, tu sarai obbediente anche agli ordini del demonio.
Più che una frase, un’amara, facile profezia.

La premessa è che, essendo io contrario a qualunque forma di carcerazione, a qualunque limitazione della libertà personale—che non fosse motivata da un'urgenza rieducativa necessaria all'inserimento sociale—la liberazione dei detenuti in Venezuela mi rende felice.
Ciò che mi lascia perplesso, però, è il silenzio del passato. Non un articolo di indignazione per questi detenuti, non una riga, una presa di posizione pubblica del Governo Meloni, non una chiara condanna nei confronti di un tiranno che teneva segregati degli italiani nelle sue carceri.
Oggi, invece, dopo la discutibile perché efferata azione di guerra di Trump, che ha visto sì la deposizione di un despota, ma ci ha anche mostrato la sproporzione di forza che ha lasciato a terra, morti, un centinaio di uomini, l'entusiasmo è tutto per il "cambio di regime" che ha permesso finalmente la rottura dei ceppi, il taglio delle catene che teneva legata questa povera gente dietro le sbarre venezuelane.
Ora, lungi da me qualsiasi giudizio al riguardo (ho letto poco e conosco ancor meno i motivi della loro detenzione, così come sconosco il perché del silenzio del Governo), non appare strano che se ne parli, ora e con trionfalismo, lasciando il sospetto che se ne stia parlando solo per giustificare la protervia e l'arroganza americana che ha dimostrato con i suoi metodi violenti?
Se questi italiani erano ingiustamente reclusi nelle galere venezuelane, perché non si è fatto nulla per liberarli? Perché, essendo Maduro un despota e un tiranno, non si è mai disegnata la loro carcerazione come una prigionia politica?
Si tace, invece, quasi che il fine — cioè quello della libertà e della democrazia a tutti i costi— giustificasse l'aggressione americana, quasi la legittimasse perché, come si è visto, Maduro era un personaggio da arrestare, da perseguire, da deporre per la sua tirannide.
Non so se è così, ma a me sembra così.
Personalmente avrei preferito che, chi se ne sarebbe dovuto occupare prima con gli strumenti della diplomazia, oggi scrivesse chiaramente che, pur non rispettando il metodo di guerra che ha consentito il cambio di guardia del Venezuela —perché non è condivisibile—, si è felici per la liberazione dei detenuti italiani per i quali non si è fatto, o non si è potuto fare, niente o poco, prima.
Possibile che si debba sempre preferire la mendace propaganda alla sincerità politica?
Non so, forse mi sto sbagliando a pensare tutto questo.
Ma il dubbio che si stia tentando di spacciare un'azione da perdente (perché tale è qualsiasi atto di violenza), lascia la bocca amara.
Come se ci fosse qualcosa da chiarire, e che non verrà chiarito.

It’s Not a Leica, It’s a Lumix
There’s an old adage in photography that the best camera in the world is the one in your hand when the shot presents itself, but there’s no doubt that a better camera makes a difference to the quality of the final image. Among decent quality cameras the Leica rangefinder models have near cult-like status, but the problem is for would-be Leica owners that they carry eye-watering prices. [Cristian Băluță] approached this problem in s special way, by crafting a Leica-style body for a Panasonic Lumix camera. Given the technology relationship between the Japanese and German companies, we can see the appeal.
While the aesthetics of a Leica are an important consideration, the ergonomics such as the position of the lens on the body dictated the design choices. He was fortunate that the internal design of the Lumix gave plenty of scope for re-arrangement of parts, given that cameras are often extremely packed internally. Some rather bold surgery to the Lumix mainboard and a set of redesigned flex PCBs result in all the parts fitting in the CNC machined case, and the resulting camera certainly looks the part.
The write-up is in part a journey through discovering the process of getting parts manufactured, but it contains a lot of impressive work. Does the performance of the final result match up to its looks? We’ll leave you to be the judge of that. Meanwhile, take a look at another Leica clone.
The Time Clock Has Stood the Test of Time
No matter the item on my list of childhood occupational dreams, one constant ran throughout: I saw myself using an old-fashioned punch clock with the longish time cards and everything. I now realize that I have some trouble with the daily transitions of life. In my childish wisdom, I somehow knew that doing this one thing would be enough to signify the beginning and end of work for the day, effectively putting me in the mood, and then pulling me back out of it.
But that day never came. Well, it sort of did this year. I realized a slightly newer dream of working at a thrift store, and they use something that I feel like I see everywhere now that I’ve left the place — a system called UKG that uses mag-stripe cards to handle punches. No it was not the same as a real punch clock, not that I have experience with a one. And now I just want to use one even more, to track my Hackaday work and other projects. At the moment, I’m torn between wanting to make one that uses mag-stripe cards or something, and just buying an old punch clock from eBay.
I keep calling it a ‘punch clock’, but it has a proper name, and that is the Bundy clock. I soon began to wonder how these things could both keep exact time mechanically, but also create a literal inked stamp of said time and date. I pictured a giant date stamper, not giant in all proportions, but generally larger than your average handheld one because of all the mechanisms that surely must be inside the Bundy clock. So, how do these things work? Let’s find out.
Bundy’s Wonder
Since the dawn of train transportation and the resulting surge of organized work during the industrial revolution, employers have had a need to track employees’ time. But it wasn’t until the late 1880s that timekeeping would become so automatic.
Willard Le Grand Bundy was a jeweler in Auburn, New York who invented a timekeeping clock in 1888. A few years later, Willard and his brother Harlow formed a company to mass-produce the clocks.
By the early 20th century, Bundy clocks were in use all over the world to monitor attendance. The Bundy Manufacturing Company grew and grew, and through a series of mergers, became part of what would become IBM. They sold the time-keeping business to Simplex in 1958.
Looking at Willard Le Grand Bundy’s original clock, which appears to be a few feet tall and demonstrates the inner workings quite beautifully through a series of glass panels, it’s no wonder that it is capable of time-stamping magic.
Part of that magic is evident in the video below. Workers file by the (more modern) time clock and operate as if on autopilot, grabbing their card from one set of pockets, inserting it willy-nilly into the machine, and then tucking it in safely on the other side until lunch. This is the part that fascinates me the most — the willy-nilly insertion part. How on Earth does the clock handle this? Let’s take a look.

Okay, first of all, you probably noticed that the video doesn’t mention Willard Le Grand Bundy at all, just some guy named Daniel M. Cooper. So what gives? Well, they both invented time-recording machines, and just a few years apart.
The main difference is that Bundy’s clock wasn’t designed around cards, but around keys. Employees carried around a metal key with a number stamped on it. When it was time clock in or out, they inserted the key, and the machine stamped the time and the key number on a paper roll. Cooper’s machine was designed around cards, which I’ll discuss next. Although the operation of Bundy’s machine fell out of fashion, the name had stuck, and Bundy clocks evolved slightly to use cards.
Plotting Time
You would maybe think of time cards as important to the scheme, but a bit of an afterthought compared with the clock itself. That’s not at all the case with Cooper’s “Bundy”. It was designed around the card, which is a fixed size and has rows and columns corresponding to days of the week, with room for four punches per day.
Essentially, the card is mechanically indexed inside the machine. When the card is inserted in the top slot, it gets pulled straight down by gravity, and goes until it hits a fixed metal stop that defines vertical zero. No matter how haphazardly you insert the card, the Bundy clock takes card of things. Inside the slot are narrow guides that align the card and eliminate drift. Now the card is essentially locked inside a coordinate system.
So, how does it find the correct row on the card? You might think that the card moves vertically, but it’s actually the punching mechanism itself that moves up and down on a rack-and-pinion system. This movement is driven by the timekeeping gears of the clock itself, which plot the times in the correct places as though the card were a piece of graph paper.
In essence, the time of day determined the punch location on the card, which wasn’t a punch in the hole punch sense, but a two-tone ink stamp from a type of bi-color ribbon you can still get online.
There’s a date wheel that selects the row for the given day, and a time cam to select the column. The early time clocks didn’t punch automatically — the worker had to pull a lever. When they did so, the mechanism would lock onto the current time, and the clock would fire a single punch at the card at the given coordinates.
Modern Time
By the mid-century, time clocks had become somewhat simpler. No longer did the machine do the plotting for you. Now you put them in sideways, in the front, and use the indicator to get the punch in the right spot. It’s not hard to imagine why these gave way to more modern methods like fingerprint readers, or in my case, mag-stripe cards.
This is the type of time clock I intend to buy for myself, though I’m having trouble deciding between the manual model where you get to push a large button like this one, and the automatic version. I’d still like to build a time clock, too, for all the finesse and detail it could have by comparison. So honestly, I’ll probably end up doing both. Perhaps you’ll read about it on these pages one day.
The Issue With Wii U Gamepads and How to Clone Them
How hard would it be to clone the Wii U gamepad, the quirky controller with its unique embedded screen? This is the question that [MattKC] faced as he noticed the complete lack of Wii U gamepad replacements from either Nintendo or third-parties, leading him down the rabbit hole of answering said question.
Although unloved and even despised in compared to the Nintendo Wii, the Wii U was a solid system in its own right. One of its interesting additions was the gamepad controller, whose screen games used for features like a private screen during multiplayer and 3DS-like map screens. Its main weakness is however that the Wii U gamepad was considered an irreplaceable part of the console, which is obviously not fun if your gamepad breaks and your console along with it.
The Wii U console and gamepad communicate via 5 GHz 802.11n WiFi, but in order to deter other parties from simply hopping onto the access point, Nintendo slightly obfuscated this WiFi standard. Specifically the WPA authentication was modified by a byte swap in the PTK, rendering every existing WiFi stack incompatible with the Wii U.
Knowing this, the key is to use a platform that allows one to pre-break WPA in a similar fashion, such as is possible on e.g. Linux and BSD. Along with the use of the hilariously insecure WPS that is triggered when the gamepad’s sync button is pressed, this enables one to connect a modified Linux system to a Wii U console. After this the console starts sending h.264 (AVC) encoded video to the ‘gamepad’, and a binary packet can be sent back with the controller inputs.
Suffice it to say that this finding was immediately turned into a GitHub project called Vanilla Wii U, that enables a Steam Deck to be used as a gamepad, as well as any Linux – and presumably BSD – system with a compatible WiFi adapter. This latter point is key, as the non-standard authentication method has to be bypassed in software. This means for example that an un-modded Nintendo Switch cannot be used either.
The technical challenges combined with the systems relatively low popularity explain why third-party gamepads never appeared. However, now that the Wii U is a retro console, these efforts are essential for keeping these consoles working. We’d love to see the PlayStation Portal get modded into being a Wii U gamepad, since it’s basically a more limited clone of the same concept.

The Unreasonable Effectiveness of the Fourier Transform
A talk, The Unreasonable Effectiveness of the Fourier Transform, was presented by [Joshua Wise] at Teardown 2025 in June last year. Click-through for the notes or check out the video below the break for the one hour talk itself.
The talk is about Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) which is the backbone for radio telecommunications these days. [Joshua] tries to take an intuitive view (rather than a mathematical view) of working in the frequency domain, and trying to figure out how to “get” what OFDM is (and why it’s so important). [Joshua] sent his talk in to us in the hope that it would be useful for all skill levels, both folks who are new to radio and signal processing, and folks who are well experienced in working in the frequency domain.
If you think you’ve seen “The Unreasonable Effectiveness of $TOPIC” before, that’s because hacker’s can’t help but riff on the original The Unreasonable Effectiveness of Mathematics in the Natural Sciences, wherein a scientist wonders why it is that mathematical methods work at all. Co-Extrusion Carbon Fiber FDM Filament Investigated
After previously putting carbon fiber-reinforced PLA filament under the (electron) microscope, the [I built a thing] bloke is back with a new video involving PLA-CF, this time involving co-extrusion rather than regular dispersed chopped CF. This features a continuous CF core that is enveloped by PLA, with a sample filament spool sent over by BIQU in the form of their CarbonCore25 filament.
In the previous video chopped CF in PLA turned out to be essentially a contaminant, creating voids and with no integration of the CF into the polymer matrix. Having the CF covered by PLA makes the filament less abrasive to print, which is a definitely advantage, but does it help with the final print’s properties? Of note is that this is still chopped CF, just with a longer fiber length (0.3-0.5 mm).
Samples of the BIQU filament were printed on a Bambu Lab H2D printer with AMS. In order to create a clean fracture surface, a sample was frozen in liquid nitrogen to make it easy to snap. After this it was coated with gold using a gold sputtering system to prepare it for the SEM.
Compared to the finer chopped CF PLA-CF, what is notable here is that CF is not present between the layers, which is a good thing as this degrades layer adhesion significantly. Less good is that the same lack of polymer matrix integration is visible here, with the PLA clearly detaching from the CF and leaving behind voids.
This shows that BIQU’s PLA-CF filament fails to address the fundamental problem with PLA-CF of extremely poor matrix integration. To verify this, an undisturbed sample was put into the Micro CT scanner.
Fascinating about the Micro CT findings was that there is carbon black in the filament, which is ironically highly abrasive.
Also in the images were again what looked like air bubbles, much like in the previous video’s results. These bubbles turned out to be always linked to a CF strand, which could be due to how the PLA-CF mixture cools with the mismatch between the solid CF inside the still liquid PLA.
After a series of mechanical tests on the printed samples, the conclusion is that the part is stiffer by about 15% and due to the CF contaminant not intruding between layers it’s also better than typical PLA-CF. Of course, regular PLA outperforms both types of PLA-CF in most tests by a considerable margin, so most people are probably still better off with regular PLA.

In #Iran è in corso la più ampia ondata di proteste degli ultimi decenni, una sfida che assomiglia a una rivoluzione in divenire ma che non ha ancora prodotto la caduta del regime. Il potere degli ayatollah resta appeso alla forza degli apparati repressivi, che finora sono riusciti a contenere le piazze al prezzo di un’ulteriore frattura con la società.
Le manifestazioni esplose tra la fine del 2025 e l’inizio del 2026 non sono più soltanto la risposta a un’economia in rovina, ma il rifiuto complessivo di un sistema politico–religioso percepito come irriformabile.
Dalle periferie povere alle grandi città, gli slogan chiedono apertamente la fine della Repubblica islamica e chiamano in causa la “Guida Suprema”, rompendo tabù che per decenni avevano tenuto insieme paura e rassegnazione.
L’elemento generazionale e femminile è centrale: giovani cresciuti nell’era digitale e donne stanche di un codice patriarcale imposto con la violenza, che non accettano più di tornare nell’invisibilità.
La risposta del regime è stata brutale: centinaia di morti, migliaia di arresti, blackout di internet e un dispositivo repressivo che prova a spezzare non solo le proteste, ma i legami di fiducia che le alimentano. Ogni funerale trasformato in corteo, ogni video che trapela oltre i filtri della censura diventa il frammento di un racconto collettivo che sfugge al controllo del potere e alimenta un sentimento di appartenenza tra chi protesta in Iran e chi osserva da lontano nella diaspora.
Dal punto di vista del potere, il sistema tiene ancora: le “Guardie Rivoluzionarie” restano compatte, i “Basij” sono operativi, non emergono rotture visibili nel vertice politico–religioso. Nelle dinamiche rivoluzionarie, il momento decisivo è quasi sempre la frattura dell’apparato coercitivo, e in Iran questa crepa non si è ancora aperta.
Per questo il Paese appare sospeso: troppo delegittimato per tornare a una stabilità di facciata, troppo strutturato militarmente perché la sola esplosione delle piazze basti a rovesciarlo nel breve periodo.
Su questo sfondo, gli Stati Uniti svolgono un doppio ruolo, interno ed esterno. Il presidente #Trump ha espresso sostegno ai manifestanti, parlando di un Iran che guarda alla libertà come mai prima e avvertendo #Teheran che un massacro non resterà senza conseguenze, messaggi amplificati dai leader dell’opposizione in esilio.
Allo stesso tempo, Washington calibra ogni parola, consapevole che un coinvolgimento troppo marcato rafforzerebbe la narrativa del “complotto straniero” con cui il regime cerca di delegittimare la protesta. Israele, a sua volta, osserva gli eventi da una posizione esistenziale: l’Iran è il cuore dell’“asse della resistenza” che alimenta #Hezbollah, le milizie sciite in Iraq, le forze filo–iraniane in Siria, parte delle dinamiche in #Gaza e il protagonismo degli Houthi nel Mar Rosso.
Teheran ha già minacciato che, in caso di azione militare americana, Israele e le basi statunitensi nella regione diventerebbero obiettivi legittimi, spingendo Tel Aviv ad alzare la soglia di allerta.
Per #Israele, la possibile trasformazione interna dell’Iran è insieme una promessa (l’indebolimento o il collasso del principale sponsor dei suoi nemici) e una fonte di rischio, nel caso il regime scelga la fuga in avanti militare per sopravvivere.
Le conseguenze geopolitiche potenziali sono profonde. Un Iran post–teocratico ridisegnerebbe la mappa delle alleanze, indebolendo la rete degli sciiti, alterando gli equilibri in Libano, Siria, Iraq e Yemen e costringendo le monarchie del Golfo, Israele e le potenze globali a ripensare la sicurezza energetica e l’architettura di difesa regionale.
Al contrario, un regime che sopravvive, ma esce più isolato e violento potrebbe reagire con un’accelerazione del programma nucleare e un aumento dell’aggressività tramite milizie e attori non statali, trasformando la propria crisi interna in instabilità cronica sullo scacchiere mediorientale.
Dietro questi scenari, però, c’è un livello più vivo, umano, che dà senso alla parola “rivoluzione” ancor prima che alle analisi strategiche.
Il regime iraniano è da anni uno dei più violenti al mondo nel disciplinare il corpo e la vita delle persone, e in particolare delle donne: dal velo imposto per legge alle punizioni fisiche e morali, dalla polizia morale alle carceri dove la violenza sessuale diventa strumento di intimidazione politica.
La rivolta che oggi attraversa le strade iraniane nasce anche da qui, dal rifiuto radicale di un sistema che pretende di controllare gesti, abiti, amori, opinioni, e che non esita a spezzare corpi e biografie per mantenere la propria presa sul Paese.Quando ragazze giovanissime si tolgono l’hijab in pubblico, quando madri che hanno perso un figlio in piazza continuano a scendere a protestare, quando studenti e lavoratori rischiano il carcere pur sapendo che il prezzo potrebbe essere la vita, ciò che si consuma non è soltanto uno scontro tra Stato e cittadini, ma una rottura etica profonda tra società e potere.
È in questo abisso che la crisi iraniana diventa universale: al di là delle frontiere, parla di libertà di disporre del proprio corpo, di dignità, di rifiuto della violenza come linguaggio politico. Che il regime riesca o meno a salvarsi, il fatto che un’intera generazione abbia guardato in faccia la paura e abbia comunque scelto di scendere in strada indica che qualcosa, nel rapporto tra gli iraniani e il loro Stato, si è spezzato in modo irreversibile.
E proprio da questo piano umano e sociale dipende il vero significato di ciò che sta accadendo: se domani la repressione avrà la meglio, resterà comunque nella memoria collettiva la prova che il monopolio della violenza non basta più a garantire la certezza del consenso; se invece, nel tempo, questa energia troverà una forma politica capace di sostenerla, allora le giornate di sangue di oggi saranno ricordate come l’atto fondativo di un nuovo Iran.

Cosa ne pensate di fare una petizione su un sito tipo change.org per chiedere a personaggi noti che ancora sono presenti solo sui social commerciali di avere una presenza REALE qui nel Fediverso?
Su Facebook seguivo diverse persone (Gianni Cuperlo, Vera Gheno, Matteo Bordone, per citarne un paio) che mi piacevano e che da un anno ormai non leggo più perché sono rimasti di là.
Tra l'altro sono tutte persone fortemente critiche verso quei social, i loro proprietari e l'attuale governo americano, quindi il fatto che scrivano lì e solo lì è davvero strano.
La petizione dovrebbe semplicemente dire loro che esiste un'alternativa ai social commerciali (il Fediverso, non questa o quella istanza, questa o quella piattaforma), che tante persone che li seguivano hanno abbandonato i social commerciali per i motivi che loro ben conoscono e vorrebbero poter continuare a seguirli di qua.
Senza colpevolizzare nessuno, senza proporre la cosa come un boicottaggio, dicendo solo che noi siamo qui e ci piacerebbe venissero anche loro.
Che ne pensate?

Un’élite eversiva si è impadronita dei governi di quasi tutti i Paesi occidentali. I suoi emissari nei governi considerano i propri cittadini come nemici da estinguere mediante pandemie, guerre, carestie e criminalità. Sono decenni che i globalisti orgogliosamente rivendicano la paternità dei progetti di depopolamento, nel silenzio complice della stampa mainstream e di tutte le istituzioni civili e religiose. Il Mercosur è un trattato di libero scambio con Argentina, Brasile, Bolivia, Paraguay e Uruguay a seguito del quale l’Europa sarà invasa da alimenti prodotti da coltivazioni o allevamenti non sottoposti alle nostre ferree regole sanitarie. La sua approvazione costituisce un attacco all’agricoltura, agli allevamenti, alla pesca e alla salute dei cittadini europei, che avrà come risultato la distruzione del tessuto socioeconomico di intere Nazioni e la dipendenza alimentare dalle multinazionali del settore, tutte riferibili ai fondi di investimento BlackRock, Vanguard e StateStreet che stanno saccheggiando le terre agricole.
L’asservimento dei governanti agli interessi dell’élite globalista è ancor più evidente dinanzi alla pianificazione della sostituzione etnica, perseguita allo scopo di cancellare l’identità religiosa, culturale, linguistica ed economica degli Stati e poter meglio controllare le masse. Da Starmer a Macron, da Rutte a Sanchez, dalla von der Leyen alla Meloni, la sorveglianza totale è ormai in fase di realizzazione e diventerà irreversibile con l’introduzione della valuta digitale e l’obbligo dell’ID univoco per l’accesso ai servizi essenziali.
Esprimo quindi il mio pieno sostegno alle manifestazioni di protesta degli agricoltori e degli allevatori europei e britannici, in queste settimane fatti oggetto di una vera e propria persecuzione spietata e ingiustificata. Auspico che i cittadini diano pieno appoggio a queste categorie particolarmente colpite, anzitutto acquistando direttamente da loro ciò che producono, perché è grazie alla loro presenza che possiamo mangiare in modo sano ed evitare alimenti ultraprocessati o geneticamente modificati. Invito a boicottare le aziende della grande distribuzione che sostengono il Mercosur e penalizzano la produzione interna.

Inside the Telegram Channel Jailbreaking Grok Over and Over Again
For the past two months I’ve been following a Telegram community tricking Grok into generating nonconsensual sexual images and videos of real people with increasingly convoluted methods.As countless images on X over the last week once again showed us, it doesn’t take much to get Elon Musk’s “based” AI model to create nonconsensual images. As Jason wrote Monday, all users have to do is reply to an image of a woman and ask Grok to “put a bikini on her,” and it will reply with that image, even if the person in the photograph is a minor. As I reported back in May, people also managed to create nonconsensual nudes by replying to images posted to X and asking Grok to “remove her clothes.”
These issues are bad enough, but on Telegram, a community of thousands are working around the clock to make Grok produce far worse. They share Grok-generated videos of real women taking their clothes off and graphic nonconsensual videos of any kind of sexual act these users can imagine and slip by Grok’s guardrails, including blowjobs, penetration, choking, and bondage. The channel, which has shut down and regrouped a couple of times over the last two years, focuses on jailbreaking all kinds of AI tools in order to create nonconsensual media, but since November has focused on Grok almost exclusively.
The channel has also noticed the media attention Grok got for nonconsensual images lately, and is worried that it will end the good times members have had creating nonconsensual media with Grok for months.
“Too many people using grok under girls post are gonna destroy grok fakes. Should be done in private groups,” one member of the Telegram channel wrote last week.
Musk always conceived of Grok as a more permissive, “maximally based” competitor to chatbots like OpenAI’s ChatGPT. But despite repeatedly allowing nonconsensual content to be generated and go viral on the social media platform it's integrated with, the conversations in the Telegram channel and sophistication of the bypasses shared there are proof that Grok does have limits and policies it wants to enforce. The Telegram channel is a record of the cat and mouse game between Grok and this community of jailbreakers, showing how Grok fails to stop them over and over again, and that Grok doesn’t appear to have the means or the will to stop its AI model from producing the nonconsensual content it is fundamentally capable of producing.
The jailbreakers initially used primitive methods on Grok and other AI image generators, like writing text prompts that don’t include any terms that obviously describe abusive content and that can be automatically detected and stopped at the point the prompt is presented to the AI model, before the image is generated. This usually means misspelling the names of celebrities and describing sexual acts without using any explicit terms. This is how users infamously created nonconsensual nude images of Taylor Swift with Microsoft’s Designer (which were also viral on X). Many generative AI tools still fall for this trick until we find it’s being abused and report on it.
Having mostly exhausted this strategy with Grok, the Telegram channel now has far more complicated bypasses. Most of them rely on the “image-to-image” generation feature, meaning providing an existing image to the AI tool and editing it with a prompt. This is a much more difficult feature for AI companies to moderate because it requires using machine vision to moderate the user-provided image, as opposed to filtering out specific names or terms, which is the common method for moderating “text-to-image” AI generations.
Without going into too much detail, some of the successful methods I’ve seen members of the Telegram channels share include creating collages of non-explicit images of real people and nude images of other people and combining them with certain prompts, generating nude or almost nude images of people with prompts that hide nipples or genitalia, describing certain fluids or facial expressions without using any explicit terms, and editing random elements into images, which apparently confuses Grok’s moderation methods.
X has not responded to multiple requests for comment about this channel since December 8, but to be fair, it’s clear that despite Elon Musk’s vice signaling and the fact that this type of abuse is repeatedly generated with Grok and shared on X, the company doesn’t want users to create at least some of this media and is actively trying to stop it. This is clear because of the cycle that emerges on the Telegram channel: One user finds a method for producing a particularly convincing and lurid AI-generated sexual video of a real person, sometimes importing it from a different online community like 4chan, and shares it with the group. Other users then excitedly flood the channel with their own creations using the same method. Then some users start reporting Grok is blocking their generations for violating its policies, until finally users decide Grok has closed the loophole and the exploit is dead. Some time goes by, a new user shares a new method, and the cycle begins anew.
I’ve started and stopped writing a story about a few of these cycles several times and eventually decided not to because by the time I was finished reporting the story Grok had fixed the loophole. It’s now clear that the problem with Grok is not any particular method, but that overall, so far, Grok is losing this game of whack-a-mole badly.
This dynamic, between how tech companies imagine their product will function in the real world and how it actually works once users get their hands on it, is nothing new. Some amount of policy violating or illegal content is going to slip through the cracks on any social media platform, no matter how good its moderation is.
It’s good and correct for people to be shocked and upset when they wake up one morning and see that their X feed is flooded with AI-generated images of minors in bikinis, but what is clear to me from following this Telegram community for a couple of years now is that nonconsensual sexual images of real people, including minors, is the cost of doing business with AI image generators. Some companies do a better job of preventing this abuse than others, but judging by the exploits I see on Telegram, when it comes to Grok, this problem will get a lot worse before it gets better.

Github Banned a Ton of Adult Game Developers and Won’t Explain Why
Developers making mods and plugins for hentai games and sex toys say Github recently unleashed a wave of suspensions and bans against their repositories, and the platform hasn’t explained why.Developers I spoke to said the community estimated around 80 to 90 repositories containing the work of 40 to 50 people went down recently, with many becoming inaccessible around late November and early December. Many of the affected accounts are part of the modding community for games made by the now-defunct Japanese video game studio Illusion, which made popular games with varying degrees of erotic content. One of the accounts Github banned contained the work of more than 30 contributors in more than 40 repositories, according to members of the modding community that I spoke to.
Github didn’t tell most suspended users what terms they broke to earn a suspension or ban, and developers told me they have no idea why their accounts went down without notice. They said they thought they were within Github’s acceptable use guidelines; even though they make mods for hentai games and things like interactive vibrator plugins, they took care to not host anything explicit directly in their repositories.

He makes plugins for an Illusion game called Koikatsu. Zverev said he’s been using Github for this purpose since 2024, but on November 18, his Github page was “completely deleted,” he said. “No notifications anywhere, simply a 404 error when accessing the page and inability to log in on the web or in the mobile app. Also it does not allow me to register a new account with the same name or email.”
Github updated its acceptable use policies in October 2025 to forbid “sexually themed or suggestive content that serves little or no purpose other than to solicit an erotic or shocking response, particularly where that content is amplified by its placement in profiles or other social contexts.” This include pornographic content and “graphic depictions of sexual acts including photographs, video, animation, drawings, computer-generated images, or text-based content,” according to the terms.
“We recognize that not all nudity or content related to sexuality is obscene. Zverev said he didn’t write to support because he sees “such effort as fruitless and would rather move on to a different platform instead.” But even Github users who did try to get help from the platform’s support hit dead ends.A developer who goes by VerDevin, who makes Blender modding guides, utility tools and plugins for a game called Custom Order Maid 3D2, told me in an email that users of his mods started reporting difficulty accessing his repositories starting in late October. At that point, he could still access their account while logged in, but not when logged out.
“Turned out, as you already know, that my account was ‘signaled’ and I had to purposefully go to the report section of Github to learn about it. I never received any notifications, by mail or otherwise,” VerDevin told me. “At that point I sent a ticket asking politely for clarifications and the proceedings for reinstatement.”
Github Trust & Safety replied with a generic message: “If you agree to abide by our Terms of Service going forward, please reply to this email and provide us more information on how you hope to use GitHub in the future. At that time we will continue our review of your request for reinstatement.”
VerDevin said they replied the following day, agreeing to the terms and promising to remove whatever Github deemed inappropriate—information the platform still hadn’t given them. “I did not take actual steps toward it as at that point I still didn't know what was reproach of me,” they said.
A month passed before Github replied. “Your account was actioned due to violation of the following prohibition found in our Acceptable Use Policies: Specifically, the content or activity that was reported included multiple sexually explicit content in repositories, which we found to be in violation of our Acceptable Use Policies,” Github wrote to VerDevin.
“At that point I took down several repositories that might qualify as an attempt to show good faith (like a plugin named COM3D2.Interlewd),” they said. Github restored his account on December 17—several weeks later, the day after I sent them a link to his account asking why it was banned—but they still haven’t heard anything about what specific content caused it to be “actioned.”
Github did not respond to my multiple requests for comment about why these accounts were banned. I sent Github’s press team links to several banned accounts, and they reinstated a few, but didn’t provide a reason or reply when I asked what caused the bans in the first place.

The situation is illustrative of a longstanding problem on almost every platform: the terms of use, especially when it comes to adult content, are applied confusingly and sporadically. The affected repositories represent tools used by potentially hundreds of thousands of gamers; the English Koikatsu modding Discord community alone has more than 350,000 members. A developer who goes by Sauceke, who Github suspended in mid-November without explanation, said their open-source adult toy mod users are now encountering broken links or simply can’t find any of their work.“Perhaps most frustratingly, all of the tickets, pull requests, past release builds and changelogs are gone, because those things are not part of Git (the version control system),” Sauceke told me. “So even if someone had the foresight to make mirrors before the ban (as I did), those mirrors would only keep up with the code changes, not these ‘extra’ things that are pretty much vital to our work.”
Github reinstated Sauceke’s account on Tuesday, following another request for comment from me asking why anyone was banned—seven weeks after initially suspending them. Github support sent them a message: “Thank you for the information you have provided. Sorry for the time taken to get back to you. We really do appreciate your patience. Sometimes our abuse detecting systems highlight accounts that need to be manually reviewed. We've cleared the restrictions from your account, so you have full access to GitHub again.”
But even as Github reinstates accounts, pieces of users’ repos are missing. In Sauceke’s account and others, including in the IllusionMods repo, all releases are hidden. “This makes the releases both inaccessible to users and impossible to migrate to other sites without some tedious work,” Sauceke said.
Github is the biggest open-source platform for developers, and especially for adult content creators who are often censored or marginalized elsewhere, discoverability on that platform is important. “It's the best place to build a community, to find like-minded people who dig your stuff and want to collaborate,” Sauceke said. If the banning spree goes beyond hentai game and toy modders, they said, it might push developers to explore other platforms. Some have already migrated their repos to GitGoon, an open-source platform specifically for adult developers, or Codeberg, Berlin-based nonprofit-run site similar to Github.
